Travis Zack, our MVP Tech, recently came out to check on the progress of our trees and was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. He provided us with excellent tips on proper watering and fertilizing and even took the time to demonstrate how to rebuild the watering wells around the trees so they retain water properly and encourage maximum growth. We really appreciated the hands-on guidance and his willingness to answer all of our questions. Overall, we are extremely happy with both the quality of our trees and the continued service and support from Moon Valley Nurseries. MATT ARMSTRONG FOR NURSERY PRESIDENT! We are beyond thrilled with our FIRST visit to Moon Valley Nurseries! We originally drove out to Irvine for a little shopping, but on a whim decided to make a detour to Moon Valley--and wow, are we glad we did. The place is massive (40 acres!), and my husband and I were wandering around like two lost kids in a forest. Thankfully, Matt Armstrong spotted us looking completely clueless and swooped in to save the day. Best decision ever! His customer service is on another level. He's knowledgeable, personable, hilarious, and somehow managed to make tree shopping one of the highlights of our day. Now, I'm not an easy customer to impress, but before I knew it, I was cruising around the nursery in the backseat of his decked-out golf cart while he showed us all the best trees. By the end of the tour, we happily bought two trees--and left wondering how we got sold so effortlessly. Seriously... give this man a raise! My wife and I got to this location a little after opening on a Saturday. Staff was attentive to us right as we walked away from our parked car. We ended up working with Jake Montiel to walk us through our vision and get us squared away for a DIY install. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped us finalize the plants we were looking for direction on. Moon Valley Use to drive by Moon Valley in Irvine monthly and fell in love with a Buffalo they had displayed on the side of the freeway. Thought this Buffalo would be a great addition to our son's large property. I was lucky to get a hold of Sharon at Moon Valley who helped me considerably with getting him secured. We picked up our guy this past weekend and delivered him just outside Yosemite. The Buffalo was a surprise, and we are so happy to say they were surprised and they do love him. Right away the family got calls from the neighbors asking if he was real :) supposedly he is the talk of the town right now... He was wonderful and provided helpful advice about our watering schedule. WARNING....Do not buy trees from this nursery. The sales people will be very nice to you so that you will spend money but afterwards good luck on getting the proper service. You would think that with the extremely high price they charge there wouldn't be any issues. I could write an essay about all the problems we had but l won't waste your time. But l will tell you this much it was a complete nightmare dealing with them. It was so bad we had to tell them to refund us our money after they tried to talk us out of it. Over $10,000 1. No idea on how to properly plant trees. 2. Unprofessional planting crews with little knowledge and an attitude. The guy they sent had only 2 months of experience! They broke irrigation pipe digging and management wouldn't fix them after they lost the sale. 3. Management is arrogant, rude and unwilling to fix problems without having to argue countless times with them. They send out crews without the proper items to plant trees. No stakes No soil mixes. 4. The trees might look beautiful but they are grown to be big without having a large enough rootball to sustain it once it is planted. The trees will eventually fail or have problems. I needed a hedge. Went to Moon Valley Nursery in Irvine and was introduced to Matt (awesome) who gave me options, answered questions, and ultimately came to my property to check the planting area. I selected 15 mature trees. Someone had to reschedule their install while I was there, so I snagged a delivery spot at the end of the week. Paulo and his 6 man crew showed up on time and dug 15 holes exactly where I marked (see picture). The precision and efficiency of this team was impressive. The trees went in as I requested. Wells were nicely made for each tree and all were watered by the team before cleaning up and clearing out in about 2.5 hours time. If I have any problems, I'll update. But as of now, the trees are gorgeous and exactly where I wanted them. That's an important point for customers to note: Moon Valley does not have your plot map and can't read your mind. YOU have to mark where the trees should go and (bearing no logistical setbacks), the trees will go exactly there. I bought the pricey protection plan - time will tell how that pays off (I will update). But Moon Valley has an insane selection and true professionals there to assist you every step of the way for your landscaping needs. read more

I had a really great experience with Moon Nursery. The team was professional, friendly, and very accommodating from start to finish. I did need to replace a tree, and they handled everything smoothly. They removed the old tree and helped select a beautiful, very healthy nectarine tree that already had blossoms and looked full and vibrant. Blake in particular was wonderful to work with. He kept me in the loop the entire time and made the experience fun as well. At one point he even helped me stage a funny photo of my dog standing in the deep hole with a little dirt on her nose, pretending she had dug the hole herself. It was such a lighthearted moment and really showed how kind and personable the crew was. Everyone on the team was great to work with, and the whole process was handled professionally. I purchased Moon Valley Nursery's one-year tree care and warranty service when I bought one of their trees. Unfortunately, almost a year later, despite numerous phone calls and follow-ups, no one has ever come out to provide the tree care I paid for. I spent approximately $400 on this service and have repeatedly contacted the company to resolve the issue. On several occasions, I was promised a refund, but I have yet to receive one. The lack of follow-through, poor customer service, and failure to honor their commitments have been extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

I purchased a Camellia from Moon last November. I was in full bloom and looked beautiful... It should have because it cost $400... Less that 6 weeks later it was dead... I called Moon to see about getting a replacement and they said that it wasn't covered under their warranty because "they didn't plant it"... It was still in the original container that they did plant... They gave me some Moon juice to try to revive it... to no avail... I tried for another 2 months to nurse it back to life... but, it never came back. I called Moon again and spoke with a nice gentleman Daniel who gave me some additional pointers... Now, it is June and the Camellia is totally dead... I have purchased $$$$ of dollars worth of products from Moon and have been satisfied in the past.... But, not any more!!! read more
