I go to Matt Armstrong for ally fruit tree needs. My Pink Beaumont Guava tree is growing great and fruiting year one!

I wanted to post a special call out to Janes the arborist who came out to check on the tree we had planted in our front yard in June. James listened to my concerns, pruned the tree so that it would continue to grow upwards instead of out, and helped redistribute the landscaping around it so that it was more supported for proper watering, James spoke to me afterwards about what he did and what to expect with regular maintenance. His customer service and attention to detail are outstanding. Thank you James! read more

I hate writing reviews like this, but when you buy something from someone and it doesn't work, or breaks immediately after buying, or in this case dies shortly after buying, there's very little options left. I tried reaching out to Moon Nurseries in Irvine about the plant I bought that's dying. I bought 2 from them, 2 pots, and even bought the soil from them. One tree is alive and well, the other is dead. Purchased under 2 months ago, the try that's dead started dying only 2 weeks after purchase. We thought it may be a water issue so we manually started watering both of them, the alive one is still alive and well and the dying one is now almost completely dead. After contacting Moon, they said they would talk with their arborist who stated, "sorry, we're not responsible since we didn't do the planting of them." That doesn't make a lot of sense to me as I purchased literally everything it needed from them. My only job was to add water. A long story short, I went back and forth with a member from Moon and they will not help. They say I need to buy another one. I have spent 25 thousand dollars on one Mediterranean fan palm, then the purchase of these two spiral plant/trees pots, and soil, which cost $1300. These trees sit at my driveway entry. I can no longer in good faith purchase from them and I needed to advise others before purchasing from them. So buyer beware, they will not stand behind their products even if you do everything write, and buy everything from them. Best of luck if you decide to buy here. read more

Moon Valley Nurseries - Dying plant that they won't replace - Tree Services Near Me - Irvine, California

Huge place! Every type and size of tree you can imagine, much larger than their Fountain Valley location. We pulled in and went into their (blessedly air-conditioned) office, inquired about the specific tree we were interested in. Matt greeted us right away and offered to drive us through the property on a golf cart. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He knew exactly where his inventory was located and helped us pick a beautiful tree in a size and price range that worked for us. Lots of examples of our tree to choose from, and we talked about the pros and cons of the few that made the short list. No rush, no pressure, no upsell-what a relief when you're pulling the trigger on a $1500 tree. We also will have them deliver and plant our tree so will update this review in a few weeks. read more

Great service, Jake is very knowledgable. Ask for him when you come in! Couldn't have been a better help.

We've had a great experience with Moon Valley Nurseries! We purchased privacy trees along with the extended warranty, and we are so glad we did. Travis Zack, our MVP Tech, recently came out to check on the progress of our trees and was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. He provided us with excellent tips on proper watering and fertilizing and even took the time to demonstrate how to rebuild the watering wells around the trees so they retain water properly and encourage maximum growth. We really appreciated the hands-on guidance and his willingness to answer all of our questions. Overall, we are extremely happy with both the quality of our trees and the continued service and support from Moon Valley Nurseries. The extended warranty and follow-up care have definitely been worth it. A big thank you to Travis for the excellent service--we highly recommend Moon Valley Nurseries! read more

MATT ARMSTRONG FOR NURSERY PRESIDENT! We are beyond thrilled with our FIRST visit to Moon Valley Nurseries! We originally drove out to Irvine for a little shopping, but on a whim decided to make a detour to Moon Valley--and wow, are we glad we did. The place is massive (40 acres!), and my husband and I were wandering around like two lost kids in a forest. Thankfully, Matt Armstrong spotted us looking completely clueless and swooped in to save the day. Best decision ever! His customer service is on another level. He's knowledgeable, personable, hilarious, and somehow managed to make tree shopping one of the highlights of our day. Now, I'm not an easy customer to impress, but before I knew it, I was cruising around the nursery in the backseat of his decked-out golf cart while he showed us all the best trees. By the end of the tour, we happily bought two trees--and left wondering how we got sold so effortlessly. Seriously... give this man a raise! If you're looking for beautiful plants, great prices, and an unexpectedly fun shopping experience, ask for Matt Armstrong. He'll take great care of you--and you might even leave with more trees than you planned. Thanks Matt! we'll be back for more. xoxo read more

Moon Valley Use to drive by Moon Valley in Irvine monthly and fell in love with a Buffalo they had displayed on the side of the freeway. Thought this Buffalo would be a great addition to our son's large property. I was lucky to get a hold of Sharon at Moon Valley who helped me considerably with getting him secured. We picked up our guy this past weekend and delivered him just outside Yosemite. The Buffalo was a surprise, and we are so happy to say they were surprised and they do love him. Right away the family got calls from the neighbors asking if he was real :) supposedly he is the talk of the town right now... This is a "Thank you" to Moon Valley for all their help and all the staff that helped load him up. Mr. Buffalo made the trip completely safe and sound. read more

Met with arborist James DeYoung today. James was wonderful - he was friendly, and took the time to see what we really wanted for our yard. He was very knowledgeable about not only the plants we'd gotten from Moon Nurseries but also all of our other plants. He spoke with us about our watering schedule, pruning, mulch, and things to look out for on our trees. He also gave us great advice and varying options for moving forward to work with our budget and how much time we'd like to spend in our yard with DIY vs having professionals help. We felt comfortable asking him any questions and would definitely recommend him to anyone. read more

Yo, Matt and Jake helped us out. Moon Valley nurseries came through made our yard most beautiful thanks guys!

I needed a hedge. Went to Moon Valley Nursery in Irvine and was introduced to Matt (awesome) who gave me options, answered questions, and ultimately came to my property to check the planting area. I selected 15 mature trees. Someone had to reschedule their install while I was there, so I snagged a delivery spot at the end of the week. Paulo and his 6 man crew showed up on time and dug 15 holes exactly where I marked (see picture). The precision and efficiency of this team was impressive. The trees went in as I requested. Wells were nicely made for each tree and all were watered by the team before cleaning up and clearing out in about 2.5 hours time. If I have any problems, I'll update. But as of now, the trees are gorgeous and exactly where I wanted them. That's an important point for customers to note: Moon Valley does not have your plot map and can't read your mind. YOU have to mark where the trees should go and (bearing no logistical setbacks), the trees will go exactly there. I bought the pricey protection plan - time will tell how that pays off (I will update). But Moon Valley has an insane selection and true professionals there to assist you every step of the way for your landscaping needs. read more

We had the best experience ever at Moon Valley Nursery! We recently moved into a home with a big backyard and had no idea where to start, we knew we wanted fruit trees, but we didn't know what would thrive in our space. Matt and the entire team were incredible from start to finish. They walked us through everything: which trees would do best in our mix of sun and shade, how to care for them, and what to expect long term. There was never any pressure; it truly felt like they wanted us to succeed and enjoy the process. We ended up getting several fruit trees (a total dream for us!), and they're handling the full planting and setup. Dear Moon Valley Nurseries Irvine Team, I am writing to share my positive experience regarding the customer service I received today. I was recently worried about the health of the Avocado tree that I purchased and had planted by your team last October. After I reached out yesterday, James Deyoung called me back today. I truly appreciate his timely response. By reviewing a picture of the tree, James was able to identify the problem and provide me with a better summer watering schedule to help the tree cope with the heat. James was very polite, helpful, and professional throughout our interaction. I am so happy with the customer service provided by Moon Valley Nurseries Irvine and wanted to ensure his great work was recognized. Best regards, Theresa McPherson read more

I had a really great experience with Moon Nursery. The team was professional, friendly, and very accommodating from start to finish. I did need to replace a tree, and they handled everything smoothly. They removed the old tree and helped select a beautiful, very healthy nectarine tree that already had blossoms and looked full and vibrant. Blake in particular was wonderful to work with. He kept me in the loop the entire time and made the experience fun as well. At one point he even helped me stage a funny photo of my dog standing in the deep hole with a little dirt on her nose, pretending she had dug the hole herself. It was such a lighthearted moment and really showed how kind and personable the crew was. Everyone on the team was great to work with, and the whole process was handled professionally. I'm very happy with the new tree and the service we received. read more

WARNING....Do not buy trees from this nursery. The sales people will be very nice to you so that you will spend money but afterwards good luck on getting the proper service. You would think that with the extremely high price they charge there wouldn't be any issues. I could write an essay about all the problems we had but l won't waste your time. But l will tell you this much it was a complete nightmare dealing with them. It was so bad we had to tell them to refund us our money after they tried to talk us out of it. Over $10,000 1. No idea on how to properly plant trees. 2. Unprofessional planting crews with little knowledge and an attitude. The guy they sent had only 2 months of experience! They broke irrigation pipe digging and management wouldn't fix them after they lost the sale. 3. Management is arrogant, rude and unwilling to fix problems without having to argue countless times with them. They send out crews without the proper items to plant trees. No stakes No soil mixes. 4. The trees might look beautiful but they are grown to be big without having a large enough rootball to sustain it once it is planted. The trees will eventually fail or have problems. Good luck to you if you choose to buy from them! read more
