    plenty to choose from

OC Succulents is a hidden gem in Irvine. They have a wide variety of plants in a variety of sizes, but their succulents is what I know them for. Recently I know my direct reports have been really busy working tirelessly through deadlines, so I wanted to get something to show them my appreciation. I came on a Friday evening and they weren't too busy, but there wasn't much staff support in sight. I had some questions but I just wandered around on my own and figured it out. I chose 8 different 4" succulents ($4.95/each). I have this whole speech to tell my team how they are talented, unique, and beautiful in their own ways and I wanted to show them some appreciation. And the succulents can grow with them. And it's relatively low maintenance and long lasting, so it shouldn't be too much trouble. Waiting to ring up took forever. There was only 2 people in front of me but only 1 person at the cash register. Don't come here if you're in a rush cause it isn't a drop in drop out place. Also the lot they have for parking is an unpaved dirt lot, so your car will get dirty. I had to wash my car the weekend following my visit here. Great spot for the plant lovers. I'm not a plant lover but I know a lot of them so I'll come here for gifting, but not for personal purchases.

I'd come here more often if this place were closer to my house! Don't be fooled by the name of this shop; they also have houseplants, planters, and landscape items. They carry all sizes of plants, from tiny ones for your shelf to huge statement plants for your space! The price is reasonable as well. I'm especially impressed by the variety of plants they offer. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable, providing tips to keep the plants happy if needed. I highly recommend plant lovers consider this place as one of their go-to spots.

OC Succuelnts is a great place to get cacti and succulents for your collection. They even have some caudiciforms now. Their cactus selection is good and they have some uncommon caudiciforms as well. They also carry a lot of houseplants. Their prices are good too. Friendly service. Would recommend.

Purchased air plants to put together this arrangement.

Really loved their selection and quality of plants and products. I was in search of air plants and they offer a good variety of choices and sizes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. They routinely get new stock every 1-2 weeks. Parking is a breeze.

This place is huge and the offer of succulents and tropical plants is just as big. Prices are fair and some are really good. It's a place to visit even for just looking around. Beautiful tillandsia and African violets. Staff is courteous and you get a discount on your birthday! Almost forgot, they also have a nice selection of pots

My cart full of of beauties!!

Went in today looking for houseplants and it was absolutely amazing! There's signs letting you know how much light/water/difficulty of growing each plant and most importantly if they're toxic to animals! Brittany was super sweet and helpful. Answered all our questions and just very kind and patient with us. Definitely come check it out and you can bring your puppers! Honestly just a really fun Sunday date with my partner... it felt super wholesome didn't cost too much cuz prices were awesome!

A lot of air plants to choose from. Happy with my purchase

This place came recommended by a friend who is a landscape architect and it did not disappoint. The variety of plants was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

    Potting table

Nice plants and good prices. I made this arrangement at their potting table - $35 for bowl and plants, and you can use a bit of their soil, pebbles, moss, and/or mulch. One of the employees (Alexandra?) was very helpful - I had made the arrangement but she assisted with the potting and gave a few tips. It was only for like 5 minutes but another employee said she was supposed to charge for her labor. I would have paid but she let it go. But still a great place!

I'm a succulent farmer. I'm always looking for inspiration and new looks. I discovered this place and I've been back twice since. I really like the potting Station. I'm able to buy pots and plants and put them all together and they look just great. They give you supplies to pot your own plant, which I think is like a plus plus plus situation. The last time I was there I got 10 plants and pots and I walked out and put them in my car and looked at my bill and it was $114. Damn. I'll be back. Nice people working there too. I'm always looking for a better place but this is the best for me so far.

I found exactly what I wanted (Thai constellation) the staff are very nice and helpful there.

Ask the Community - OC Succulents

I had two questions. 1) If I buy a series of small succulents, is there a way to transport them in a more secure way in my car?…

    Do they carry imported/rare succulents?

Hi there, we don't import rare succulents. We do have a lot of cool varieties in stock though. If there's a specific one you are looking for feel free to give us a call at 949-552-9619. We'll be happy to check our inventory!

Can you bring your own pots to plant the succulents in after you purchase?

Hello, yes you can. When you buy your pot and plants with us, you can use the potting bench to create your arrangements. If you bring your own pot you could use the potting bench after you've purchased your plants with us. If your pot requires a lot…

Do they also sell calatheas or other pet-friendly tropical plants?

They have a large selection of tropical indoor plants--including Peperomia, Monolenas, Fittonias, and many other types safe for fur babies :)!

Hi, you mentioned you have 3 sizes of the EB Cactus and succulent mix? I have bought it here before and really like it but I was wondering if you could tell me the prices? its about a 30 minute drive and I would go only to get the soil so this would

Do they have ZZ plants in stock?

Hi there Mandy, we currently have 3- 9" ZZ plants. Our inventory changes every week. Any questions, please give us a call at 949-552-9619. Have a great day!

Are dogs allowed on a leash or if you carry them? I have a small pug that I like to take to pet friendly nurseries with me.

Yes they are I believe. As long as they are on a leash and behave of course :) No aggressive barking or peeing on anything, just to be courteous. Lol. I've seen dogs there before.

If I have a succulent in need, can you help? Hello, I have a jade plant that needs help, could I bring it in for some advice, possibly help transplanting and getting it to a…

Of course. Can you DM a couple pictures first? That’s a great first step.

What kinds/brands of cactus/succulent soil do they have?

Hi there Natalie, we carry the E.B. Stone Organic Cactus and Succulent mix. The three sizes we carry are 8 qt, 20qt and 1.5cf. Please feel free to call our Irvine or Torrance…

Can I bring my own pot? I mean I don't mind buying a pot if I really like it. But I have so much pots and want to fill them up.

they don't give you fancy pots. They all are plastic. So you can move them to your pots when you get home.

Are they open during sheltering at home? Thank you!

Hi Alissa. We are currently open to perform our essential business functions. We ask anyone visiting the nursery to please follow CDC guidelines. Thanks for checking!

Do they accept returns? The plant didn't really match the space

Hi Fran! No problem, as long as it’s been a reasonable time frame, and bring your receipt! Thanks.

Do you come out to plant succulents and what is the fee?

If you buy a succulent and a pot they are kind enough to provide some soil and rocks, in a section by the register, to replant your new friend.

Do they have a free succulent day every year?

They unfortunately no longer have this though their smaller succulents are quite affordable (less than $2-3) so I'd recommend checking them out even if you don't get a free succulent!

They had a wonderful selection of popular items including indoor plants, succulents, orchids, fruit trees, flowering plants, and bonsai. Since I am into succulents it was nice to see the variety they had in stock. Only downside is the pricing of these succulents. I also looked at orchid and pondered whether to replace my indoor collection but the pricing was a bit too high for me to justify replacing all my indoor orchid plants. So instead, I picked one new succulent and one beautiful purple orchis and checked out. I also browsed their collection of ceramic planters and seasonal garden decorations to get some inspiration for my own backyard. Overall, service was good. The staff was very knowledgeable about plant care and watering tips and they gave me advice on keeping my succulents and orchids alive. HAHA we will see how they behave in the next few months. In conclusion, good shopping experience here. Will be back here if my new plants need more tender loving care advice!

Emily's has a large collection of very healthy looking fruit bearing plants. I fell in love with the mango and peach trees. The issue is that very few plants were labeled. While I could look past the lack of labels, I was pretty underwhelmed by the customer service at this nursery. The two women onsite wanted nothing to do with us. They never approached us throughout our search, seemed irritated by our price inquiries, and even refused to make a card purchase for a smaller item - after telling us they accept both cash and card. I left a little irked, but luckily there are so many beautiful outdoor plant stores nearby. Wouldn't recommend visiting unless you're a plant expert that can decipher 300+ species of fruit trees with no labels.
