I called Vacuum Depot to inquire about vacuum repair for 2 vacuums I have, a Bissell upright and Dyson DC33. Initially, I was really excited since this place is local to me in Irvine and they open on Saturdays. However, the man who picked up was extremely RUDE. I don't know what is going on with him, either woke up on the wrong side of bed, hates the world, or his wife nagged him all night that he came to work pissed off, but that was how he was expressing himself. Maybe he doesn't want to repair Bissell and Dyson vacuums because he kept interrupting my questions and said he has customers in the store and ask why am I making them wait by being on the phone. The call was less than 10 minutes (i double checked my call log), but it was mostly full of interruptions or being placed on hold. Sorry, but if you want to treat your customers this way, then please don't do business. First, everyone who walks in the store or calls asking for service deserves respect. Plus, this is service I am inquiring and willing to pay to get my small appliances fixed. If this is how you treat customers from the start, I am glad I am not going with you and rather take my business elsewhere. May be worth the drive at this point to Yorba Linda to one of my favorite vacuum and sewing machine repair shop ever since they moved. Or, opt to buy a new vacuum, which I try to avoid if I feel things can be repaired than purchased new. Giving 2 stars since they open on Saturdays for flexibility, but not enough because I honestly don't think they will do the job right if they treat customers like crap. Attitude translates to quality of work is what I have noticed dealing with vendors so far in my lifetime. My wife and I have owned a Miele vacuum for over 14 years and it recently stopped working. I toolkit to a vacuum/sewing shop in San Juan Capistrano for general servicing, brought it home but found that it wouldn't even power on. After searching through some old files I found the original purchase receipt from the Vacuum Depot in Irvine. I called the shop and spoke with Sean, the son of the original owner, who had worked with his father for 30 years, and he invited me to stop by for a complimentary exam and estimate. During my visit I was immediately impressed with Sean's technical knowledge, not only of myy Miele vacuum but of a variety of brands as well. Instead of immediately trying to sell me new model, he advised me to wait and see what the exam indicated, so that I might consider a repair of the Miele which he thought was a fine machine. I took his advice and within a day or so he diagnosed the problem and presented me with 2 repair options: rebuild the old part or replace it with a new part. I chose the latter and now our Miele is running like a new machine. I appreciated Sean's commitment to quality work and to the integrity of customer service. I'm not sure there are any vacuum sales or repair shops left in Orange County that can match what Sean provides at the Vacuum Depot in Irvine. I recommend him without any reservations. Having had a Dyson for the last 15 years, I decided it was time to replace my vacuum. After going down a rabbit hole reading a vacuum technician's Reddit AMAs, I went to Vacuum Depot armed with an arsenal of knowledge and an idea of what I wanted. Vacuum Depot Saved the Day-we had an older Dyson vacuum that we took to the Dyson repair center. We waited for an hour and then left because nobody would see us in a timely manner, and there was a long line of people with broken vacuums, waiting for service.
