I've lived in Glendale all my life and the one consistent middle eastern restaurant with some of the best beef kabob is Moon Mart Kebob. Try the sides are absolutely delicious...I can't ever have enough of them. I put in my phone orders and i've never had any issues so far. Very good boneless chicken kabab! The meat was so tender, well seasoned, and juicy. Came with a lot of rice, lime, and tomatoe. My favorite place for kababs in Glendale. Harry the owner is super friendly and the food is delicious. Portions are ridiculously large. Try the chicken breast, yummy. Tried this place out tonight with my boyfriend - we'd just finished a gym workout and were looking for a place nearby open past 11pm. This popped up on Yelp so we came in and both ordered the shish kebab to go. Food was REALLY good! The beef was juicy and tender, the rice was delicious, and the grilled tomato was the perfect complement to both. I LOVE how simple the dish is - literally just well-seasoned beef, basmati rice, the grilled tomato, and some pita bread (generous portion sizes). It seems like a family owned place, and the men running it were very warm and welcoming. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is a small family restaurant. The mom & dad cook while the daughter takes orders & the uncle chops up the salads. They care so much & I find that downright adorable! The Kebab is excellent. I picked up the ground beef, steak kebabs & chicken dark meat skewers. The dad thoughtfully asked me if I'm going home & would like the food packed separately - salads - rice-meats. This place is really awesome! The beef luleh is very meaty, but also tender. The chicken breast kabab is very moist and so tasty. The food is thoroughly cooked and the spices that they put is just perfect... it won't give you a heart burn. I'm very happy that I followed my friend's recommendation. So I now highly recommend this place since the owners of Moon Mart are very accommodating to its customers. They have just catered one of our church event. Clara and her husband have given us excellence service. Everyone was so pleased with the food. They also have accommodated my request for a vegetarian dish and gave us dolmas, yogurt with cucumbers, babaganoush, and hummus. This is great place, with fresh ingredients, and amazing flavor, and the best part is their hours. The only reason why I almost gave this place 4 stars is because of the wait time, it seemed to be a one man show. I'm not sure if the owner is also the server, and the cook, and the dish washer, but it seemed that way which delays the flow of the restaurant; however it was worth the wait because the food was simply delicious. We just hosted a dinner party at our house for 25. I bought lule, chicken, rice, ghorme sabzi (Persian stew), Salad Shirazi, bean salad, a yogurt dish (mast moosir) and it was just perfect I ordered only 2 days before and the process was so easy. The owner added an onion side and said it would come with lavash. Also, tomatoes and pepper. The lavash actually came on the meat so if you want extra make sure to tell them. Good thing we had enough rice that it turned out ok. Surprisingly, he also added extra boned chicken and an entire tray of regular lettuce salad. We had an extra tray of stew left over but everything else was just perfect. I had never ordered from here so I was hoping it would not disappoint and boy was it delicious. The owner is so stinkin cute!!! Not the main thing yelpers wanna hear, I get that. But it's like ordering from a nice uncle. He's so honest... I was telling him I'm ordering for 2 adults and 2 kids and he's like "no no that's way too much food", and helped me adjust the order so it's perfect for us. Onto the food: The beef Luleh was marinated perfectly and so juicy. Not overcooked, but also not undercooked (not sure what's worse). The rice was flaky and fluffy and beautiful, complimented the meat perfectly. I love how generous they are with the sides. Not to name names, but kabob factory literally just gives you a side of raw onions and some lavash (why would anyone want that as a side lol). But Moon Mart does 2 sides, one was roasted peppers and tomatoes (to die for... I smash the tomato onto the rice and have bites of the pepper with my meal for an extra kick). The chicken breast is cooked perfectly and marinated even more perfectly. I'm big on marination, because sometimes the meat is well cooked but lacks flavor ya know? Homemade abgusht.... omagosh!!!! It's not just the stew, it's everything you'll need for the feast. The bread, the onions and greens on the side, the meat the broth (together or separate). Omagosh omagosh! Price: Really reasonably priced. I think we spent like 30 something and it fed my entire family. And it's all fresh made healthy food. You really can't beat that. Convenience: It's a bit far from where I am, but I love that they have delivery options. And when I've ordered for pickup, it's been really hot and fresh even after I drive back home. It honestly hurts me to give a one star review to any business because I just feel like a bitch but this place was terrible for so many reasons I couldn't hold my tongue. Let me relive this awful experience for you: Came in because it was within walking distance from a photo shoot we were doing and this place had decent reviews. Boy do I wish we would've went further down the list.. first of all, the place was quaint and the one customer in there looked like she was enjoying her meal, which falsely led me to believe we would too. There were three of us and two of us decided to try 1 of the chicken plate specials & 1 of the shish kabob specials. Which clearly stated by the restaurant on their menu; chicken with a side order of rice, grilled tomato, salad AND drink. And our third member ordered the Cornish hen plate which included everything ours did minus the soft drink. When asked what we would like for our drinks, the two of us with the "specials" ordered a perrier (because I saw the girl with one) and a diet coke. The third ordered just iced tap water (the 1 with the cornish hen plate). For an appetizer, we ordered hummus but were told 5 minutes later they didn't have any. So we switched it to cucumber yogurt. (Which was yummy! The only good thing about this spot.) Our food came out and I for one was unpleasantly surprised. It was like wtf? How could they possible not make good kabobs? ? Isn't that their specialty! ? Alas, food was above average. There was no salad and the rice was dry. After being brought out some perrier knock off from Germany, I asked if they had perrier to which the owner replied, this one is better. I wasn't there to judge if it was or wasn't, I just wanted sparkling water with lime and the brand they had was unflavored. So I decided to make it simple and asked for a sprite. Just a quick recap: no hummus, which is pretty much what a place like this is known for. Asked for something they had but then told no more, which is very likely since its not a huge restaurant. And below average tasting food. Sounds all bad to me. Moving on to the rest of my horror story. Then came time to ask for the bill. The owner (manager? friend?) literally just went to the register, typed in whatever the man in the back said and told us our bill was $40 flat. If that doesn't raise eyebrows then this part will. One friend just had the mentality to just pay the bill and get the hell out of there. So he handed his card over, got the receipt, and signed away. Me being a little bit more frugal and mistrusting of strangers, asked to see an itemized receipt. After looking it over, I noticed immediately a couple of things wrong. First, we were charged for 3 drinks although we all got the "lunch specials" which prices included the drinks. second, one of the meals was charged an extra $2 than what the menu said. How do you charge more than what YOU put on the menu?? Last, not only did they overcharge, as the guy handed over the itemized receipt, he says very rudely, "Oh, I gave you a $3 discount." Sure, you knocked off $3 from the final total AFTER you overcharged $6.50!! Oh wait I forgot to say this last part, even though I brought this to everyones attention, my friends were still kind enough to ask for change for $20 to leave tip. The guy shorted my friend $2. Never have a had food this bad!! My coworkers and I decided to order from this place. Everyone was upset and angry not only did they get orders wrong... They also missed couple orders so ppl had to share their food w each other. My order was the Luleh kabob lavash wrap which includes parsley and onions... They brought me the chicken Luleh with no onions in there and a few parsley pieces which I can count how many where in there. The kabob was so dry I was having trouble swallowing it!!! We ordered enough food for six people, which cost what felt like a dinner for four people, which fed nine people. Besides the price, the food is amazing. Don't get fooled by stars, check the other one star ratings of this place which holds true for this place. Worst chicken kabob (thigh). The place was empty when I reached at peak lunch hour. I should have understood it. I had ordered a "to go". I requested some spicy sauce, lady tells me "We don't give sauce for "To Go" in a rude way. Next, I picked my food to eat in the car. First of all, food was cold. Kabob looked like it was sprinkled with little salt and pepper and cooked in microwave for 5 minutes. There was nothing kabob flavor on it and chicken tastes horrible and stale, very bad quality meat, beware. The wrap was rubbery and hard with large chunks of lettuce just thrown on top of it with one or two small pieces of chicken, no dressing no spices, flavorless. You call this a middle eastern food??? Stop fooling your customers, any fast food would taste better and fresher than this. I called the owner just to let him know about the bad food so he could improve improve quality in future but surprisingly he tells me very rudely, "If you want refund, you have to get the food back mostly uneaten". Well, I was not looking for a refund, I already had driven far away to even go back with that crap food for a refund. I told him that I had couple bites and I dumped in a plastic bag to trash it. He said, "you have to bring it and most of it should be uneaten" in a very rude way. I trashed 80% of the food and after an hour or so, my tummy got sick and I felt like puking. Then I got sicker. Later, I flushed it out of my system with lots of laxatives and felt better. I couldn't eat anything after eating this crap that day. Well, I was fooled by the 4 and 5 stars and missed to review one star ratings. I learnt a lesson. It was one of the worst food I had ever eaten in my life. Even thinking of it makes me puke... yewwww...I won't be able eat chicken for couple days, :-( Thanks for making me sick and ruining my appetite, what a disgrace to middle eastern food :-( read more

The Food here its good like a fast food persian restaurant.except very expensive and very small portion appetizers, Service its good and friendly.. Beware of appetizers they all over priced small portion and served in plastic bowls. When you get the bill you get shocked if you want eat really good and enjoy. So called Don Kach he needs to understad peopke go to restaurant to eat not to tast small portion food and then give him all there money. I would recommend Raffis PLCE real food real service. In my opinion cheap food and small portion should not be part of restaurant business. You can go there and walk away from your dollars and find out about small portion food and great service.
