If I could give zero stars I would. Sometimes I wonder if owners even care about reviews anymore, but I have to warn people about this place. I will never go back. First and absolutely last time that I will go there. It was a painful experience. The older woman who did my nails, a simple manicure was so rough, she actually injured me several times. She scratched my skin several times with her electric drill. I kept say ow, ow, ow, and all she said was sorry. Then she used the roughest Emory board to file and kept scraping the skin on my fingertips. I had to tell her several times it was too rough and hurting. Then I was terrified of the clippers and thought she was going to snip my skin. I made it thru that and the owner kept glaring at her in an angry like I was not the first person to suffer her torture. Then she starts cutting my cuticles with the terrifying cuticle clippers and after drawing blood three times I had to tell at her to quit cutting me. That was just the right hand. I told her to stop before she started slicing and gouging my left hand. Kept bleeding and I have bandaid on 3 of my finger tips now. Never again. Beware of this place. My granddaughter and myself make an appointment mood nails. After waiting an hour and a half past our appointment time.I had pedicure that was mostly leg massage, then they have you walked across their filthy floor to The nail drying station.The polish bubbles up and peeled off they were rude then they overcharged me. Last time I'll ever go to Mood Nails. Depending on who you get they do an ok job. The real issue is that they have repeatedly over charged me. I was over charged last visit but thought maybe it was a miss understanding and never said anything. This time I only needed a color change, no repairs and not really even needed a fill, but was there so I just had it done. Acrylic fill, on their menu, shows 18.00, I also got a gel color (5.00) So at check-out Danny says $30.00. It's only a few bucks, but I questioned it and he said the gel color is 10.00, I thought it was 5.00? well ok, so it should be 28.00? he nodded, then he asked if I wanted to add a tip, I always give 5.00. I'm not wearing my glasses. So we just finished up And once I can clearly see my receipt he has charged me 35.00 so an $18.00 fill w/ gel is 30.00. What a scammer - They need to change menu/ price board and stop scamming people out of a few dollars. It's no big deal, just a few bucks, it's more the point, I wonder how many others are over charged, not a smart way to grow the business - Ba bye read more

If I was able to give zero stars I would. The lady who did my nails was very rude didn't even introduce herself to me. As she was filling my nails with the drill she used dirty tools and cut 3 of my fingers. As the nails were done I noticed she put a very thin layer of acrylic on my nails. My friend and I were very kind and we went near the late hours and the lady was holding up my hand showing the people and the people were saying "very long" and "ugly" and at that point I was fed up. The next day I'm out with that same friend and I was being very gentle with my nails and 2 broke at the mall. I call and ask about this and they said come in and we'll fix it. I go in and ask for a refund because I didn't want their service and they refused. I'm done ranting just don't go to this place it horrible, dirty, and full of disrespect read more

Unfortunately, this was not my best experience. I felt the staff (some) were grumpy. The polish my daughter got chipped off the next day. Thankfully allowed us to come in an re-painted at no charge, but overall it wasn't our best experience. read more

I would give them no stars if I could, it was the most unsanitary and unprofessional experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I was coughed on multiple times and they didn't have masks on and she didn't try to cover her mouth. The sizes didn't match up at all on my full set and she blew on my fingers and set up a tiny fan for me (not a joke, just seems like one.) because they had all of the seats taken to dry my nails. I left with wet nails and I still tipped her. One broke of the same day and another snapped off the day after. I went back to try to have them fix it for a free or discounted price. They told me that they didn't do my nails and sent me away. So I took them off myself and I won't be returning for obvious reasons. read more

I read the previous negative review from the lady from Oakland and was motivated to write my own positive review from a regular local Auburn customer. Although the decor may be dated, Mood Nails is the BEST salon for acrylic nails, pedicures, manicures and facial waxings. I have been a customer for years and most of my closest friends have followed me to Danny and Laura. Danny and Laura are extremely talented but most of all extremely friendly & professional. I am often complimented on my nails and their natural appearance. Danny takes the time to listen to each individual and provides them with their own unique finished product. His artistic abilities in design are amazing! The pedicures are addicting and I often show up with 4 or 5 people at a time to indulge them in the experience. The artistic designs on my toes are also often complimented. Even my husband enjoys the pedicures! I have never had a bad experience at Mood Nails and HIGHLY recommend that you begin your relationship at Mood Nails with Danny and Laura soon...you're going to love it and them! read more

Hana gave me the most relaxing pedicure I have ever had. She is very sweet, doesn't speak much English, which was unfortunate because a woman that kind is someone I would like to know more. They not only overcharged me, the gel polish cracked and flaked off the very next day...this happened to my daughters nails and her friends at the same time. They said it would be certain amount and overcharged my card when I wasn't there to sign and doing errand next door, although she did remember when I went back that she recalls my daughter telling her to charge ten dollar tips to each technician (my daughter said she requested a five dollar tip). Wrong! When I went back to give them a chance to make it right they complained and treated my daughter rudely, not to mention her friends mom had to pay for her daughter to get her nails re-done elsewhere. I mentioned the gel may be expired, they denied and had excuses rather then listen to their customers. They were definitely not eager to make it right. No wonder me and my friends get our nails done elsewhere. read more

They have updated and cleaned up. I go here regularly now. They are fast and my nails stay in great shape for 3 weeks with just fiberglass (not gel). They don't have a great selection of nail polish (at least not as good as other places I've gone to), but it's fine for the price and convenient location (close to my house, Safeway, and Starbucks)!. Update 1/2/14: They updated again, with all new pedi chairs that are the best I've come across. Awesome massage. Really very nice at Mood Nails now. Lots of polish choices, including gelish. I have gone to numerous nail salons in the area, and I have NEVER found a better place. I did my own nails for over 25 years and am extremely pickie. I found Danny 5 years ago, and hope to God he never leaves. Nice and clean, friendly, always a smile on the employees faces. Excellent pedicures, longest massages in town, but I would suggesting up grading for the pharifin wax treatment, well worth it! I drive almost a hour one way to go to Mood Nails, and there are closer ones to my home, but not nearly as good. Thank you too the Mood Nails team! read more

I was in town for a wedding and needed my nails done. The bride to be and her mother had come to Mood Nails the day before and recommended them. My daughter and I walked in and were helped immediately. I had a full set done and my daughter had a fill. We were in and out in no time. The salon was clean with very friendly staff. Very relaxing. I have gone to this salon for years and been very happy. They recently updated all the salon chairs including adding several more spa chairs. The salon looks beautiful with all the upgrades. They have specials now and then that you should be on the outlook for. Everyone is friendly and does a really good job. Overall, the Mood Nails Salon is run in a very unprofessional manner. The topper was that they charged me higher prices than the prices that are posted on the very large price list board hung in their sitting area. I went in asking questions, and even asked for specific prices for the services I decided on (those decisions were based on the prices I was given). When it came time to pay, the prices changed without warning... very unethical, and unprofessional. I left feeling very ripped off and will definitely NEVER go back. Just went in for a manicure, the reception I received was very cold. I am a bubbly person and have had my nails done for over 25 years. The nail girl that did my nails wanted me to have gel coat, however I just wanted a basic manicure. I'm not sure if she was not happy that's all I wanted. The whole process was over in 15 minutes, but the kicker is she did a horrible job. I had paid her before she painted them and made sure I tipped her well to ensure she would do a good job. I came home and someone commented it was a shame I had paid money for the manicure, hat I could have painted them better myself. My work requires me to have a professional, polished look, but now I am so embarrassed with this manicure. I have never written a review on anyone, but am so irritated that I've spent good money on a place with poor customer service and a crappy manicure. This place must have gotten a face lift on its shop, but they need new employees, maybe someone who likes her job. I would never give this place another try. read more

WORST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! Went in to get a full set of the Crystaline powder glitter nails. First off there were spots on the tip where the guy didn't cover it all the way with the powder. Secondly he rushed through it. Took him about a half hour to do and he was speaking another language to the women next to him the whole time. Very uncomfortable. Lastly I got my nails done on a Saturday, by Monday they were already lifting AND there was dirt in the glitter white powder...dirt! Under the gel. Well they are closed Monday even though their site says they are open. So Tuesday I go in to have them re-done considering I paid $45 before tip! For them. The lady who is always at the front rudely tells me to sit down after examining my nails and questioning the "dirt" telling me it's my fault, that I did it to my nails. Then she only fixes 4 nails! 4! Last time I checked I had a total of ten nails lifting. After she finishes them in like 15 min she tells me "you go now! Bye!". That was on Tuesday the 4 that got "fixed". By Thursday (2 days later) they are lifting. BY FAR THE WORST PLACE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! read more
