The manager/owner was patient, professional, and genuinely tried to help. Even though the footage was no longer available, they took the time to review the situation and provided a written confirmation for my insurance. The rest of the staff was also polite and helpful. I Needed air put in my tires-- I traveled for a while, came back to cold weather and had low tire pressure in 3 tires. The attendant told me we can put air in your tire but since it's cold outside it will be 5 dollars. I asked whether its free when it's regular temperature outside to put free air in the tire. He said it's 5 dollars to put air in the tire. I found the explanation odd but I needed the air to get back on the road so I did it. read more

Just had a great experience with the Service team at the Montgomery Mall Shell. I Had a flat tire and needed an emergency tire replacement and they were able to help me with installing a spare tire and brand new replacement tire quickly on a holiday weekend. Always a convenient place to get gas either before or after hitting the mall. Situated on the corner of Democracy and Westbard, it's easy to pull into this gas station from either side and to exit as well. Prices are steep (capture customer pool!) so just be aware! read more

The gas prices here are not as high as the surrounding stations. It's super convenient because it's located right next to the mall and has more than one entrance/exits. The biggest issue and my reason for a two star review is that people here DO NOT follow the arrows on the ground. The pumps are configured so traffic moves based on a specific direction however there are many times I've been blocked in at the pump because someone came down the opposite side and we are now face to face. Everything about this station is a tight squeeze so when people don't follow the rules you end up stuck waiting for them to finish. It ends up being a huge game of Tetris. read more

If you live in the 20854 and you need gas, your options after 10pm are rather limited, but fear not, because Montgomery Mall Shell is 24/7! They realize that not everyone is in bed at the same time most 8 year olds are being put to sleep, and reap the benefits of being the only ones in the area who not only offer gas, but their mini-mart also stays open 24/7! What I actually love the most about this Shell though, is that despite being a 24/7 location and the only one, they don't gauge you on prices at the pump - at all! They are *always* cheaper than the Exxon that is literally housed in the same building as them, and they are INFINITELY cheaper than the options at Potomac Village and Cabin John. Actually, their prices are far more similar to gas stations on Rockville Pike, which is a total breath of fresh air. read more

The other day my battery went flat whilst filling my car with gas. When I wandered into the repair shop in the same Shell garage i was met with a surly gent who took offence to my accent - I am British and as he told me over and over he is German and with a deep dislike for the British. What all this has to do with my need for a jump start for my battery i don't know!! The person i dealt with, who could have been the owner for all i know was one of the most rude and ignorant people i have had the misfortune to encounter in a long time. Charles of Montgomery Mall Shell is the MAN! Saved me and wonder dog Lizzy in 95 degree heat today at Cabin John Regional Park. Dropped single key to ignition stuck between seat and center console. No way to start the car! Called over to the Shell Station at 10:30 after my car club membership 'felt' that this was not a true emergency. Charles said he'd be over in 10 min. He painstakingly looked for my lost key in the heat with flashlight and poker object. He couldn't find it BUT he suggested he could drive us home round trip to get the spare key. Great guy, great conversation and a very, very selfless act! We were back in my car very quickly. Yes!!!! I paid it FORWARD and took care of Charles! He is an incredible mechanic with tons of experience. OPEN on Saturdays until 12 noon keep that in mind also. The only local 24/7 gas station. read more

Don't try to use your Giant rewards card there. Although the Giant card works at other Shell stations, it doesn't work at this one. The folks at Giant told me some stations, including this one, presumably, disable the rewards so that they don't have to sell discounted gas. I have switched stations now, so that I can use my Giant card. read more

Do NOT go here if you can avoid it. Worst employees ever! Wow. I bought a 10 dollar charging cord from this shell. Plugged it in my car and it didn't work. Plugged in my old charger and that one did work (was just old and ratty looking so I wanted a new one). Took the cheap charging cord back in, asked for a refund. This was less than 2 minutes after leaving. Cashiers and manager were laughing and refused to take back their cheap, faulty cord. Btw cord is made by "Chrome Cellular". Total junk. And these clowns refused to take it back less than 2 minutes after I foolishly bought the thing. I left it with them anyway. They can keep it for 10 bucks. I'll never go back and I strongly suggest all comers to avoid getting ripped-off like I did. read more

This station is constantly lying about their prices. They always report lower gas prices in apps like Gas Buddy. Their prices are very high. Employees are extremely rude to customers. Also unsafe traffic lanes; congested. Try to avoid this gas station. There are much better managed Shell stations with better prices in Rockville area. read more

Gas station clerk called me a liar after I presented a Maryland issued ID card that was not DMV issued. It was a MMCC card (by law it has to be a government issued photo ID which it is) and I come into the gas station every week to buy my cigarettes. The man who runs the auto shop really helped me out. My car battery died at the pump! He had his mechanic test my battery, determined it was dead, and charged it for me--all for free! Although they did not have time to replace it for me quickly, I was able to drive away for a new battery. read more

Filled my brand new car (2012 Mercedes S550) with their premium fuel, and immediately had problems. Besides a horrific sulfur smell, the engine started to run rough and the check engine light came on. Dealer said station had bad gas and that it is not covered under warranty. Called the Station and spoke with Robi, who was not any help at all. He said I needed to call his boss, Jim, in a few days. A FEW DAYS! Well I contacted SHELL CORP. in Texas and they told me they are having a few regions with poorly blended fuels, that it's "a crap shoot" to get genuine Shell gas from one of their stations because they now allow independent subcontractors to blend their gasolines at the depot.... holy smokes! We're buying boot-legged gas from name-brand gas companies at FULL PRICE! Shell said that "everyones doing it"! I then asked who was conducting quality control for these independent distributors who are blending their gasolines for accuracy and potency? "No one" they said... NOOOOOO ONE! Gas prices for this station are repeatedly quoted on GasBuddy and FuelFinder phone apps at .10 to 13 cents lower per gal than the actual price at the station. People try to show the real price on the apps but the lower price is added again after the corrections are made. read more

I had recently checked and put air on my tires (about a month ago) and last week Monday I was driving on I270 when I got the low tire pressure light so I pulled to the nearest exit and found this Shell station that had auto service. I did not know which tire was low, but I immediately realized I must have a nail on one of my tires which is causing a slow leak. I asked one of the mechanics if they remove nails from tires and patch up and he confirmed they did. I told him I suspect I have a nail because the low tire pressure light came on but he immediately went on to just fill all of my tires with extra air. I asked him again if he can check them as I am sure I have a nail on my tire but he asked me when was the last time I had put air on my tires which I emphasized it was about a month ago. So he then suggested perhaps it's my spare tire, some newer cars have a sensor when the spare tire is low on air it might indicate so, so he then proceeded to put air on my spare tire. I have a Ford Focus 2013 and I know for a fact I do not have that perk in my car which I then told him so. He then suggested that perhaps my car is experiencing a faulty wire but refused to take a look at my tires as I asked for him to do so 3 times. I didn't feel like arguing with this mechanic as he was clearly either lazy or didn't believe me that I had a nail on my tire. He then has the nerve to tell me that if I do have a nail, to come back and they'll patch it up! He just did me a favor to fill up my tires with air and I drove up to Rockville where I normally get my oil changed at ROCKVILLE TIRE AND AUTO . As I suspected, I did have a large nail on my right rear tire. I will never fill up on gas or use their auto service at this location, they will never get any business out of me. These reviews of Montgomery Mall shell seem to be mostly about gas prices. My review is to actually give them 5 stars for excellent auto service each time I've needed their assistance. Montgomery Mall Shell not only sells gas but they have a great Automotive Repairman as well. They repair "ALL" motor vehicles but especially Mercedes. I've gone to them on several occasions and found them to be very pleasant, quick, efficient and reasonably priced. Robert that schedules the appointments is a doll and; the mechanic exceptionally pleasant, polite, smart, efficient, effective and practical. I recently had Euro Motors of Bethesda replace my battery. The next day the car wouldn't start. The repairman came back but told me to take the vehicle to back to Bethesda Euro to reevaluate the problem. That made no sense. Instead, I took the car to Robert at Montgomery Mall shell. They immediately diagnosed & corrected the problem the previous repairman failed to finish and replaced my front headlight for a minimal price all in less than an hour. I don't know the mechanic's name but he is absolutely amazing!! read more
