I have been here in the past and the food was usually ok and good service. We went here last night and this place has fallen apart. Service and food hit a all time low. I ordered a Cesar salad and it had rotten brown center in the lettuce. Margarita had so much ice in the short glass you got no drink. Server was the worst we ordered a second round of drinks and they never showed up. We finally just canceled the drinks and paid the bill. This place has changed and not for the better. read more

Finally, Finally, Finally! We have been looking forward to the opening of Montez for months. Carlos and Mundo Villapudua have created a great local place for Whitehouse. The menu is simple but great options with a full bar and outside patio. We will definitely be going back. read more

What a disappointment compared to the other two restaurants,1836 and Villa Montez. Was noisy as the the acoustics are awful. They could turn down music a little so you can at least carry on conversation.The A/C must have been almost out as they had several floor fans running which added to the noise. Did not have full meals only the cheese platter and a couple of drinks. The cheese platter similar to 1836 but not nearly as good. Cheese platter,bottle beer and glass wine was $20.00. Did not sit on patio as was too warm but would be nice on fall day. Sat in bar as main room too noisy with a couple of crying kids. I guess there is room for improvement but will probably not try again. Will stick with 1836 as a favorite. Overall unpleasant experience but maybe better on a weekday night and not Saturday. read more

I hate giving a one star but...The bartender Olivia is awful. (4 star overall without Olivia) We go there at least once a week for a while now and she is either stoned or on drugs each time we go. Horrible service from her. We love to sit at the bar but we will not ever again if she is there. Tonight 3 couples were very upset with her service. Another server Nick noticed a couple had been without a drink for a while and he offered to help them and he was serving on the patio, not the bar area. They were not even busy. I have noticed if we get a table (not sitting at the bar) the service is so much better. We enjoy the atmosphere and the food is good, when you can get it but that bartender needs to go. This was our 3rd time here. We were really disappointed this time. My Salad was covered in red onions, the beer was served with 1/3 of foam on top. Sent the beer back to remove foam and it came back without the foam but they did not add beer. Sent it back again asking for the glass to be filled up. We started with queso which was very good. You get enough for 4 people easy. The chicken fried steak was average but the chicken fried yard bird was really good. Both come with mixed veggies that have been sauteed. If you don't like the juice running under your steak and mashed potatoes, ask for them on a separate bowl or try to substitue. My picky son ate everything and was happy. I had the Mahomes hotdog. Comes with the biggest dog I have ever eaten. It's very salty but went well with the pulled pork, fried egg, fried onion rings and pickles. The fries are the pre-made frozen kind but that's cool with me. Service was good. Drinks were kept filled with a to go cup to boot. All total with 20% tip came to 60 bucks for the three of us. A bit high but not crazy. I would gave it another star but we were seated right near the front door which is a really neat old western style solid wood slab that doesn't close correctly. It stays wide open if you don't force it closed. The cold wind blows in your face which wasn't great so we got up and closed it multiple times. If you go here, don't sit near the front entrance as you get the wind and every person who comes in the places walks right past your table. I think we will try this place again next time we come through Whitehouse but this time we will go to the back porch or do lunch at the bar. read more
