I've always had great experiences here with a variety of different salespeople. I own over 30 Montblanc pens, and am very satisfied with each one. Not sure about the fussy people leaving bad reviews....maybe they are expecting something for nothing? Who knows. They always have the latest models in stock, and I like their accessories too. Relative had a fine in-store experience purchasing a pen here, that I accompanied him to purchase. The next day, called to seek also purchasing a bag & watch (not available anywhere else nor online) that also had eye on. Salesman sent link via email/text to purchase, link expires in certain time frame, relative purchased products on link sent. Credit card purchase went thru on relative's end but did not complete confirmation on salesman's end. After repeated calls with salesman's finance dept and lame excuses for not confirming purchase by Montblanc, purchase was cancelled and product was never received due to poor decisions and excuses by their finance department. read more

Products are Montblanc fountain pens so very nice. I have to say the service here was less than I expected from a luxury goods boutiques. Like the previous reviewer, I probably looked young. Also, I am not a pen fan as the the fountain pen was for my boyfriend. Compared to other shops, Montblanc seems a bit unprofessional. I wanted the pen engraved and my salesperson had it all packaged for me, unpolished... She seemed to have forgotten I wanted it engraved. I got the said pen engraved to be picked up a couple of days later. When I got it, it seemed like they did try to at least wipe it of finger stains this time. However, no cartridge was in it... As I found out after I gave the gift. Surprise surprise. I was shocked since when I bought it I asked for a black ink cartridge when she asked if I preferred black or blue. I didn't try writing with it when I got the pen as I didn't want to increase any finger smudges on it.. Or have ink on it. Wen I called, they offered to ship me ink (after the present was given...sigh...) for $8 charge. I might as well buy it straight from the Montblanc website. Aweful sales manager at this store. Sofie is who I am unfortunately have to keep dealing with is horrible. I cannot use the appropriate language needed to describe her, but she seems to believe she's better than anyone and everyone walking into that store. At least that was my experience. Previous reviews state that minorities get mistreated, and that is probably true, but it does not end there it seems. If you are a luxury store, act like you have class, don't act like we're peasants and you grace us with your presence. Sofie does not offer any help, she gives you the quickest answer to get you out of the store or off the phone. Montblanc, you call yourself luxury, then act like it, make sure your staffing your stores with employees who people want to come and see again and again. I went in and Mr.Gary was already assisting a client and he said he will be right with me when he is done. 1-2 mins later, a manager (Ms. Maria/Marina)came out and offered to help me with replacing my ink. She told me that the black ink is currently out of stock and offered me a blue one for the mean time. They took my info and will let me know when it is available. read more

Got a wallet from Montblanc 6 months ago. I was told by sales manager Gary Downey that it had a manufacturing defect and I will receive a new one. He emailed me a day after that my wallet is ready for pick up in the boutique. I asked my mom to pick it up for me and when she went in to the store she told me a sales manager (tall blonde lady disrespected her).I contacted Gary and he changed his word and lied to me that the wallet is not qualified for warranty. If your a minority and don't want to experience prejudice and stared at with disdain stay far away from this place. This is a review for Mont Blanc located in Copley place at 100 Huntingon Ave Boston MA 02116. I'm sad to say that in the year 2015 that I would experience racial discrimination at my visit to Mont Blanc. As any other customer I walked in spoke with a sales associate who kindly presented a beautiful pen that would make Donald Trump do a double take. While me and my friends sat and listened attentively to the young lady that was working her sales pitch about the lovely pen, I couldn't help to notice a gold and silver object next to the tester pens. As I fiddled with the the object which peaked my interest, a Caucasian manager Mariya Stadnik for Mont Blanc walked up me where I was seated and stated "Don't play with that" while grabbing the object from my hands. With a puzzled look I Replied excuse me? She stated that the item was very expensive and not a toy. I could not have been so embarrassed in my life. Here stood a woman that just belittled me as if I was some little lost child that had no business stepping foot into Mont Blanc. I calming replied why are you even talking to me, you can clearly see that I'm being helped by a sales associate. To then she replied I am the boutique manager as if it changed the fact seconds ago she just disrespected me. I then replied "I am a paying customer just like any one else, I am not a little child for you to speak to me like that". She then replied "please do not cause a scene,"as if I was perpetuating the stereotype of black people causing scenes in public areas. As I told her to leave me alone while I tried to focus my attention on the sales associate. The same manager stood a few steps behind her sales associate staring at me with a disdained look. I could not help but to approach this woman who clearly had in her mind that a young man like me couldn't possibly have enough money to purchase a pen of that quality. I asked the manager "Is there a problem? Why are you staring me like I'm going to steal your merchandise? She stood there mute, and looked away trying to ignore me like I didn't exist. I could not come to terms with me spending my hard earned money in a business ran by a racially prejudice manager. Not to say that this person reflects how all Mont Blanc employees treat their customers. But as a manager you would think she would know how to communicate her racist views a bit more subtle. There is clearly a lack of judgement on the behalf of Human resources for hiring someone who practices discrimination on anyone who doesn't fit the mold of someone who is capable of buying Mont Blanc products. I will further pursue this matter and make sure that this manager is dealt with accordingly. read more

Though service is what you might expect the reality falls short. Asked for refills in dark blue and I was told they had turquoise. I had to ask if they were expecting any and their quick retort was "not sure". They didn't even bother to check. I went online and found them. I asked to have a fountain pen engraved. Without even looking at the clip, they stated that i needed a new clip then there will be the engraving fee. When I asked why, their answer was the engraving machine MIGHT skip so then I would need a new clip. Problem solved never will return to this store. read more

I must tell you all that the Mont Blanc shop in the Copley Mall in Boston is a wonderful place to experience the great pens of Mont Blanc. As a potential customer who will perhaps purchase a MB 149, I have been to the shop with questions and requests to try out different nibs not less than 6 times. (Today on this busy Saturday included.) I want you to know that I have always been treated with kindness and respect and a clear understanding by the staff that it takes a number of trips before you really understand what you want and the differences between the pens and the nibs and how ones individual handwriting maps to a given pen. The staff there is absolutely first rate but a special mention to Curtis, the store Manager who has become my advisor and teacher on all things Mont Blanc. He has the patience of a saint to put up with my endless questions and he explains things until I understand them. More than that, his understanding of pens and Mont Blanc from a historical perspective is amazing. My thanks to all of the fine folks at this establishment. Please know that I have never written a review on Yelp before but I was moved to write this one because great people, service and products all in one place is a rarity. Get your pens elswhere -- no timely-manner service at this boston location. Bought a pen as a birthday gift two weeks ago, but as extra fine nib is not available in store, pen had to be sent out to change the nib. I just called to ask if I can come pick it up (as I heard nothing from the store) and was informed that pen just arrived in Texas. Apperantly it took 2 weeks to get there (maybe by a camel?). No appologies from the store for not getting pen on time despite I made it clear that gift is for the coming up birthday and was not told upfront that by their work policy it would not arrive in time when I needed it. read more

I second the previous reviewer's poor review of the manager Maria Stadnik. The only reason why I came to the store was because one of her staff said I can stop by and have the iPhone case that I bought online replaced. When I first came in, she made me wait maybe 30 seconds before saying something. She had her back turned the whole time but I had a sense she knew I was there waiting. And then when I told her I was bringing a case that I bought online that I had accidentally dropped (whole nother story), she was just so rude to me. She accused me breaking the product as though I was negligent or it was done on purpose. First off, I checked their website and there is nothing exactly stated in their return policy if accidental damage precludes returning an item. In fact with a product like Mont Blanc you'd expect them to be selling products that are durable and resists damage (of course within reason). That's why they are selling things at Mont Blanc prices right? And then she was making a fuss that I couldn't do this because I bought this online even though I told her one of her associates said it was fine for me to do so. So I raised a bit of a fuss of my own. And then she started to be a little conciliatory to me. She told me to call their online branch and if they won't allow me to return the item, then she'd talk to her branch manager and then see what she could do. Well I appreciated her willingness at this point to be conciliatory, but why not offer that in the first place? Even if they have a policy which precludes returning an item if the customer is at fault (which I'm not sure that they do) and who hasn't dropped their phone, there are alot more tactful ways of saying this then the way she responded to me by immediately faulting me. I was thinking of perhaps buying something like a belt or whatnot while I was there, but that was immediately flushed down the toilet.
