Cash only kinda sucks, especially if you have never been before and don't know about that. Wouldn't have really been a problem if the lady at the front hadn't been kinda rude about it. The atmosphere feels cheap with bad lighting. Overall even though I love pizza and am a native to Chico, I don't ever plan on going back after that experience. read more

I've only eaten here once and it was absolutely amazing, I would definitely eat here again but I have no idea when they are open! Absolutely greatest customer service I've received! When I first entered, I was immediately blown away by the atmosphere! The atmosphere is so unique and different, that it makes every place in Chico look basic. The pizza is amazing and when we ordered at around the closing time, he decided to make us an entire pizza even though we ordered just 4 slices (friend and I). He also gave us a lot of donuts because he's just such a nice guy! Prices are very reasonable, too! Greatest pizza place! Definitely coming back, without a doubt! read more

Monstros Pizza is starting to be my almost favorite pizza place in town. I say "almost" because they are not my favorite, I'm still looking around. The truth is, for a small town Chico has A LOT of pizza places. But the pizza in town just sucks, just like most of the food here. And the worst part about that? Food here is super overrated, and it costs a lot. Either they skimp on the toppings, or the dough is too googey and soft or the sauce just kills the whole thing. Thin crust is not a biggie for me, but it's not a problem. What really kills a good pizza is the sauce, the dough, or the cheese. I usually just order the pepperoni and jalapenos pizza at Monstros. And it tastes like a good old fashioned type a pizza. Something you would remember from your childhood. It's pretty good. It's the one thing I would stick to at the moment until something tastebud-blowing comes along. I've had them only once while I was in college. I admit, I wasn't blown away at the time. But Monstros pizza is those type of food that actually grows on you. Considering that all the pizza places in town sucks at the moment, and I always end up spending an arm and leg for a dough pie that is totally unsatisfying...I'd rather stick to Monstros at the moment as my #1. I can't stand Mountain Mike's shriveled burnt pepperonis anymore, nor Domino's dry cardboard pizzas. What I want is something with a good crust, not too oily like Woodstock's, which was a vomit inducer. I really tried to love Roundtable...but it's not my style. The crust is way too doughy and sometimes they are not cooked through, and just tastes very mushy. Also the sauce is sweet...I want some red zesty sauce...and Monstros is the closest to that right now. I've also tried MOD pizza, and Bidwell Park, Pizza Hut....but I haven't found the perfect chewy crust, with zesty red sauce. I spoke to the guy who works at Monstros and he says they make their pizzas from scratch...maybe he was talking about the dough and sauce? Whatever it is, I can tell that they have the best pizza dough I've ever tasted. The pepperonis are very yummy too. Give them a try if you haven't yet. You might just LOVE it. They're closed on Mondays and Sundays...and it always makes me sad. LOl. Their hours are also pretty weird since they open more in the evenings, so they not be open in the earlier parts of the days, so that could be an inconvenience. So call before you go. read more

I totally love this place except they only take cash, which can be a bummer for someone going to college. Best pepperoni in town, though. Additionally, they do two things here that are amazing. One, they have sawdust on the ground and boardgames everywhere.This makes for awesome atmosphere and entertainement. Also, they serve Pabst Blue Ribbon, IN THE BOTTLE. What a hidden treasure in Chico! My boyfriend and I came here the other night to try something new. The owner was a delight and chatted with us for a bit. The pizza was amazing and the restaurant gave us an "old school" feel with the move Grease playing in the background. Always wanted to try this place, and I can say it was definitely worth the wait! No joke the best pizza I've had in Chico for years. I've worked at two pizza places in Chico and it puts those places to shame. You can taste the freshness in the dough and the cheese and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. Literally added the Yelp app to review Monstros Pizza. I was curious so I decided to make my way there. Walked in and the place had a very wierd (Great) vibe. Sawdust on the floor, vintage arcade games, and dark with one TV playing a black and white movie. Gentleman who greets me is a nice dude for sure. Told him it was my first time. I wanted to try it out, so I order 2 slices. I was with my 5 month old and his momma. We waited 10 minutes and he comes out with a medium pizza and split out slices into two halves of a pizza. He was even kind enough to give me some garlic bread with sodas. This made he biggest impression anyone could ever make with such a small act of kindness. Not to mention I was having such a bad few past days and all I wanted was a slice of pizza! My entire day was literally made. I will never forget this, although for most people it could be just a pizza. I was beyond thankful and I am really appreciative. Monstros made the tastiest pizza with fresh ingredients you could tell. Thank you Monstros for the pizza and your kindness. I will forever recommend this special place. read more
