This place was great, you could tell the food was made fresh with fresh ingredients. Great customer service as well!

Decided to try this place since it's down the street from us.. it's pretty spacious, open, and big. They have a couple games on the side to play while waiting... When we walked in, lots of kids working there.. lots of standing around and a whole lot of doing nothing.. not even trying to wipe down counter tops or anything.. not paying attention.. there were 5 employees at the front.. half of them with their backs turned away from the entrance of the door just talking to each other. We wanted to try a pizza by the slice.. but there were no pizzas available on the rotating counter.. you'd think that should be stocked at all times.. Instead - decided to order the Margherita pizza .. pretty pricy but it's worth a try... we sat for 15 mins.. waiting. We watched as a family came in, ordered their food and got their food before us.. which was weird because we were already waiting there for 10 mins before they walked in... When we went back up to the counter looking for our pizza they asked if we called in or ordered in.. (which they would've known had they'd been paying attention, or facing the restaurant to know who is coming in and out of the restaurant) We told them we ordered in and told them we were waiting for a while and didn't hear them call our name or was waiting for them to call us.. but they told us : they don't do that. You'll just have to come up to the front counter.... Mmmm - okay. We got our pizza - which smelled really good.! Looked delicious too! It was delicious!! However, after eating the pizza ; I started feeling nauseous and that didn't end well.. All in all - we never / haven't went back. The pizza did look appetizing, it smelled delicious, and this place is so close to us! But there were too many mishaps that solidified our thoughts about this place ... hopefully they think of a better system to differentiate between customers who call in .. & customers who walk in to order .... We figured since we gave them a name, they'd call us when it's done.. but that didn't happen- maybe they can do that with the new system... if they choose to make changes ...

Lemon pepper wing with chimichuri! Omg!! Great!!

Can't have an hour wait for appetizers and an even longer wait for pizza and expect to stay in business. It's just a matter of time....

The host told us they didn't have any roses but came out with a little bouquet! For the dinner part, we were expecting a little more. The complimentary cornbread wasn't great in our opinions, but I'm sure others may like it. It's clearly homemade and comes with 3 different butters to put on top. We ordered the Salmon and Smashburger and they were both definitely over priced for what it tasted like. The salmon didn't have a lot of seasoning so it sort of tasted like something we'd give our cat. The sweet potato's on that dish were also not the best. The smashburger, in my opinion, would've tasted better if I got it from In N Out across the street. The entire burger just tasted like meat..no seasoning and there was maybe a drop of their aioli on the burger so all in all it just wasn't the best. I would've had a better experience at In N Out. We also ordered the Wagyu meatballs and never received them. We thought it was taking a minute to cook but all we got instead was the check..he didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert. We had wanted to check out their dessert menu and possibly get their strawberry shortcake but I guess that wasn't in the cards for us. We also ordered a cocktail and mocktail. My wife's mocktail (Kava Mule) was great! My cocktail (Horchata Mai Tai) was genuinely the strongest drink I've ever had. The flavor was nice if you could get past the amount of Bacardi they poured in there. Every drink I took felt like I was taking a shot. So with all that being said, unfortunately we won't be returning to Rancher's Daughter. Between the bland and expensive food, the forgotten about meatballs, the check rushed to our table, and the drinks..it's just the not the place for us.

We really had high hopes but were let down. We shared the complimentary corn bread, the arancini, and the hummus crudite. I had the turkey Thanksgiving dinner plate and my husband had the tri tip Thanksgiving plate. The starters were okay - cornbread was a very light texture and the butters that came with it weren't that good. The arancini was fine, just nothing too special but didn't come out very hot. The hummus didn't taste like much and came with a ton of bell peppers, Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and some pita. The turkey dinner was not good. The mashed potatoes and the turkey were okay. The root vegetable medley was not good and the stuffing was terrible, it was so mushy and weird. The gravy on the mashed potatoes already had a film over it like it had been sitting out for a while and was not hot at all. I also got an espresso martini that was not good. My husband got the horchata Mai tai - he liked it. My husband said the tri tip was okay but overall the plate was disappointing. They also mentioned on the phone that they would give us a complimentary dessert for my husband's birthday but never brought anything out. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy night and might give them another chance with their regular menu entrees but I don't have high hopes.

But step inside and you'll find an impressive variety of wraps, smoothies, juices, tacos, superfoods, warm dishes, pastries, espresso drinks and plenty of vegan options. Last winter, their chicken tortilla soup was outstanding--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. On my most recent visit (02/21/2026), I ordered a grilled chicken wrap loaded with alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, olives, hummus, corn, and cayenne pepper. It was genuinely delicious--a word I don't use lightly for food in Chico. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable. I also tried the "Monkey Power" smoothie with hemp seeds, white chocolate powder, peanut butter, and banana--wow, it was amazing. I truly appreciate the wide selection of vegetables, fruits, superfoods, and nourishing options they offer. Fresh Twisted Cafe has absolutely become one of my favorite spots in Chico.
