Tio's Pizza is newer to Meriam Park, but it has quickly become one of my favorites. For starters, their pizza is delicious, it doesn't sit heavy, their dough is flavorful, light and airy. They've really nailed the cheese, sauce, and pepperoni ratios which makes for a phenomenal slice or whole pie (I've had both). I had their side Caesar salad today. Their entree Caesar salad is huge and so delicious. I would assume they make their dressing and croutons in house, I don't normally have croutons on my salad but I indulge in Tio's. Their lettuce wasn't super crisp today, but it was very hot and I was sitting outside, which is a big factor. They use real Parmesan cheese on their salad which makes it that much more legit. Their service is excellent, the young lady at that took my order was incredibly kind and hospitable, very consistent with every visit I've had so far, adding to the ambiance of the perfect place to go get a slice of a pizza, a cold beer, and read a book outside on a Saturday. Mediocre, amateurish, not cheap. Don't take my word for it - this place was never, ever busy. And, to add insult to injury, they are "taking a break" to re-open in 8-9 months. So, you're gonna leave this storefront empty for nearly a year? Please simply vacate this location so that someone, anyone, can open a reasonably decent food place for this neighborhood. Are you looking for good pizza in Chico? Bodega Slice Shop and/or Farm Star Pizza are excellent options. Neither are cheap, but the quality is very good. read more

Can't have an hour wait for appetizers and an even longer wait for pizza and expect to stay in business. It's just a matter of time....

Decided to try this place since it's down the street from us.. it's pretty spacious, open, and big. They have a couple games on the side to play while waiting... When we walked in, lots of kids working there.. lots of standing around and a whole lot of doing nothing.. not even trying to wipe down counter tops or anything.. not paying attention.. there were 5 employees at the front.. half of them with their backs turned away from the entrance of the door just talking to each other. We wanted to try a pizza by the slice.. but there were no pizzas available on the rotating counter.. you'd think that should be stocked at all times.. Instead - decided to order the Margherita pizza .. pretty pricy but it's worth a try... we sat for 15 mins.. waiting. We watched as a family came in, ordered their food and got their food before us.. which was weird because we were already waiting there for 10 mins before they walked in... When we went back up to the counter looking for our pizza they asked if we called in or ordered in.. (which they would've known had they'd been paying attention, or facing the restaurant to know who is coming in and out of the restaurant) We told them we ordered in and told them we were waiting for a while and didn't hear them call our name or was waiting for them to call us.. but they told us : they don't do that. You'll just have to come up to the front counter.... Mmmm - okay. We got our pizza - which smelled really good.! Looked delicious too! It was delicious!! However, after eating the pizza ; I started feeling nauseous and that didn't end well.. All in all - we never / haven't went back. The pizza did look appetizing, it smelled delicious, and this place is so close to us! But there were too many mishaps that solidified our thoughts about this place ... hopefully they think of a better system to differentiate between customers who call in .. & customers who walk in to order .... We figured since we gave them a name, they'd call us when it's done.. but that didn't happen- maybe they can do that with the new system... if they choose to make changes ... read more

Growing pains I hope. People working there are great. The space is open and bright. Outdoor seating, nice. A few videos games to keep kids busy is also great. Pizza was just ok. Thin. Decent level of topics. But 25-30 per pie, 8 slices and just "ok". Ordering was a bit slow but food came out pretty fast. I love having a local pizza joint beyond bidwell pizza but this one isn't there yet. Still would drive to commons that has similar pizza. read more

They are fantastic. I can't wait to go back and get some more pizza. I had to customize my pizza. I want a pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and olive. They did a fantastic job. I definitely would definitely come back here. Even my mother liked it when I gave her a slice of pizza at home. The manager on site was very friendly. She was awesome. Ok first of all let me say this is a new place so I'm sure in time will only get to be one of the best places in town!!! But saying that the food was super good we tried the fries and both style wings !! The salad that had the garlic bread and the homie pizza and all meat pizza!! Omg!!! It all was great!!! I hear they have one of chicos best chefs working here!! The service was excellent!!! Ambiance was really nice with the tvs and great video game area for the kids!!! Oh one more thing!! We tried for desert the cannoli!! Omg very good!!! If you're looking for little Cesar type of pizza this isn't the place for you!!! If you looking for a nice place for gourmet style pizza with great wings and salads the you have to check this place out!!! We will be back again to give that fifth star!!! My husband and I live down the street from Tio's and were so excited to try a new pizza place when the signs went up. The ambiance is great; lots of seating inside and outside, arcade games, and a car theme. Tio's offers sandwiches, salads, and Italian desserts in addition to pizza, but because it's called Tio's PIZZA, we knew what we had to try. They have all of their flavors available by the slice for $5. I got The Meet Me and my husband got The Fun Guy. The slices are on the small side, so you'll probably want to order at least two if you want to feel satiated. They have a combo deal for a slice and a side salad, but their only side salad is the house salad; you can't get their Caesar as a side. We ordered a slice and a drink and had to go back and ask for our cups. They have water cups available by the drink fountains, but they are small and not intended for soft drinks. The slices are kept in a warmer on the front counter. Both of our slices were disappointing. My husband said that, if their marketing strategy is to promote healthier pizza, they might be successful. It certainly wasn't as greasy as other pizza places in the area, but it lacked in flavor and texture as well. The crust was hard and chewy, not much sauce, and mine was too salty. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else to eat because it wasn't filling but also not worth ordering more. My husband prefers Celestino's, and I would choose Woodstock or even Costco over eating here again. read more

7/18/25 - came to the barn to see Decades and enjoy Mariam Park for the night. At 8:30p me and my wife went next door for some pizza and the place appeared closed...knocked on the window figuring surely they weren't closed with such a big event happening next door especially on a Friday summer night...a teenage kid came to the door, and said sorry closed...I asked on a Friday with close to 500 people next door?'! He told me sorry they don't make the rules. As I was leaving a family with a half eaten pizza said as I was leaving, "what a loss right"? To preface, I have mixed feelings about Tio's pizza. Everything about this restaurant, except the pizza, is excellent. The location is convenient, the space is clean and well-organized, and the staff is consistently helpful and friendly. I can't stress enough how great this place is -- aside from the pizza. The pizza is just not great. To explain why, I'd like to compare it to a pizza from the Pitfire Pizza in SoCal, a personal favorite with comparable prices. Pitfire offers the "Say Cheese," a Neapolitan-ish-style cheese pizza made with Mozzarella, Provolone, Parmesan, a light tomato sauce, and a semi-sweet dough. It's incredibly well-balanced -- nothing is overdone, and it doesn't stand out in any one particular aspect. This is also a pizza with intentional texture and mouth feel: in each bite, the cheese, sauce, and crust shear evenly. (I should note: My current first-choice pizza in Chico is made by Crush, a restaurant downtown. Their Pepperoni "New York Style" pizza is defined by the same kind of balance I love Pitfire for.) In contrast, Tio's Papa-ronni and 4 Cheese pizzas are heavier, with a much thicker layer of tomato sauce and a chewier crust. While the "Say Cheese" is sweet and sharp, the Papa-ronni & 4 Cheese lean more neutral and dense. Both the Papa-ronni and 4 Cheese pizzas have too much going on to achieve the balance that makes a good pizza. I'd also prefer if Tio's pizzas simply contained less food overall. I'd much rather enjoy a thinner, medium-sized pie fresh out of the oven than feel compelled to settle for two aged slices from the pizza warmer. I don't love being this direct, but I think Tio's would be better if it borrowed from the well-tuned menu offerings of more established restaurants like Pitfire. When I first moved to Chico in Fall 2024, I visited Tio's often because it was convenient, fast, reasonably priced, and within walking distance. However, as I've settled in, I find myself prioritizing quality over convenience. I genuinely want Tio's to succeed and hope they refresh their menu or improve their current offerings. But for now, I just don't feel motivated to go back. read more

Went in cause I wanted just a slice of pizza and something on the side to go. Ended up getting some garlic bread which is made to order but they gave me my slice right away to get cold while I wait for the garlic bread to be ready. So I decided to eat my slice. First impression it's pretty greasy but flavors pretty good and crispy. Unfortunately it has a burnt taste with almost every bite that destroyed the roof of my mouth. Garlic bread comes with marinara sauce which is served ice cold and tastes generic at best. It would have been better if it was at least warm but the bread was pretty good just don't know why it took so long. Salad is so good. Kinda pricey in generally tho. It's just a short walk from my apartment and I've been wanting to visit for a while.

First off, if you get their pizza to go, when you get it in the car you're going to want to tear open the box at your first red light. The smell is unbelievable. Then I get it home, and oh my my. Flavor off the chart, tender meats and that crust!! One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Customer service is friendly, fast service and accommodating. A recommend, for sure. read more

I ordered the combo 1, slice was not big enough to be worth $5. I can get a little Caesars box for about the same price and quality. My girlfriend got a combo 3 pizza drink and salad ($9). Salad was filled with tomato and no croutons(they should add some). At the tables I am shocked that there wasn't any Parmesan or chili flakes only salt and pepper. Inside looks nice but food was ehh.
