I avoided dental work for years because of my anxiety, but she has always been patient, compassionate, and understanding. She makes me feel safe, never judged, and genuinely cared for. I've had some really bad dental experiences in the past, and because of that, I have not seen a dentist in over a year. I was very hesitant to go to another dentist because of my previous experiences, but scheduled an appointment here after searching around google. I saw Dr. Teng and Nataly, and they both had given me the best and most comfortable dental cleaning I've had since childhood. Dr. Bhatia and the team continues to provide high quality services. I passionately dislike all things related to dental services but Dr. Bhatia makes going to the dentist as painless as possible..pun intended :)... I recently had crowns put in. Dr. Bhatia and the staff worked for several hours to complete the job. They are always receptive to pain management and comfort during the procedures. It's especially helpful that she has Saturday appointments. I drive 50-60 miles each way because the quality is top notch. Dr. Bhatia is world class. I'm pretty sure if there was a competition of dental skill and knowledge, she'd win first place by a land slide. She answers all of my questions with opinions that are based on research. I was never curious about oral health until I started working with her and now I catch myself watching youtube videos and reading up on oral health related topics. I am a senior citizen and proud military veteran. My experience recently their health care coordinator Cristina was not good. She never returned my calls, she said she was "busy and going out of town". The quotes she gave me were not transparent and misleading. I did donate $90 to their charity that gives a $300 discount for dental work. It's odd to me this person still remains with Modern Monrovia Denistrty. Some years back Dr. Bhatia did a great job with my dental needs. Sorry to say I have no desire to have any work done at Modern Monrovia Denistrty, all due the lack of professionalism and honesty from Cristina. High dentist and even office employees turnover which is a red flag. They upcharge on EVERYTHING and have an office manager talk to you while you're in the dentist chair to talk to you about what you need done and how much it costs. You can actually negotiate much much lower, but it's too much hassle and dishonest. I never raise a fuss, but I took off my bib ready to leave because I was sitting there for 40 min after 30 min waiting in the office. They were a little nicer after that. The pocket checking on the gums is brutal and depending on who works on your teeth, they dig that spike in your pockets to get maximum millimeters to tell you what treatments you need. (Laser, fluoride rinse, etc ) I'm ready to jump ship on this office to look for a better place. I needed an implant, which initially went well. During a follow up, a different dentist was having difficulty. He had to call another dentist. While I waited, I was shivering and the bib was covered in blood. I walked to the receptionist desk to tell them I was leaving because this was taking too long. At that point, I was finally seen. In the end, the implant failed. The specialist who performed the initial procedure didn't understand how this could have failed. The follow up dentist likely botched the procedure. There was horrible bedside manner. read more

I trusted them to replace my filling. They told me if I had to do a root canal as a result of the filing removal, it would cost around $3K. I got the credit cleared for financing and the billing person asked me if I would be ok to pay that if I had to. I said, "Yes." Then he charges me for all of the $3K on my Smile Credit account. I didn't even have the work done yet. I get the filling done. No root canal needed. I call them to tell them they overcharged me because I didn't need the root canal. They told me to call back to talk to the doctor the following week. The doctor was never available. So I started paying my credit acct. Hoping they would get back to me. They never did. I moved to Rancho Cucamonga. I had to get 2 fillings replaced. Somehow this office did both of my fillings for $1300. Clearly, Monrovia Modern Dentistry is not the place to go for your dental work. Looking for insurance and they sent us here called to make sure they were on time they told us we were in 95* whether they had us waiting I went in and asked them how long they told us 20 minutes it ended up being an hour and a half and then they told us that it would be another hour and a half that wasn't going to happen so we decided not to go at all and canceled the appointment with them and we still wasted two hours of our day after reading many reviews I should've seen that they seem to be a very unorganized unorthodox and not client Oriented dentist so I will make sure to let everyone know don't ever try this dentist and wasting your time read more

Very modern technology, I like the portal they use for scheduling. Staff and doctors were very nice and easy to work with. I really would like to work with them but the price is just too ridiculous. Felt like they totally wasted my time and insurance money for going in. Part of my filling came out 2 month ago from eating. Previous dentist wanted to charge $135, I thought that was expensive . Horrible! Incompetent, and Apathetic! Contacted Monrovia Modern Dentistry (MMD) last Friday @10AM to inform them that I needed to have the #16 tooth extracted because, according to another dentist in Phoenix, it was very infected and needed to be removed "soon". (I couldn't get it done in Phoenix, since I had to fly back to LA Friday morning.) The MMD receptionist who took my phone call while I was waiting at Sky Harbor Airport, Phx. was pleasant enough and said that a scheduler would contact me either on the upcoming Monday or Tuesday. Since, the Phx doctor gave me antibiotics, 700mg of Iburphin tablets, and Codine, I felt that I could ride the weekend and then some if necessary. Monday past. Tuesday past. No call at all! Not even a txt message! A friend of mine referred me to Dr. John Zhang on that Tuesday. This dentist called me on Tuesday night during his off-hours. And on the following day, the tooth was extracted! So did Monrovia Modern Dentistry ever contact me, ever set up an appointment! No. As of Saturday morning, 21 August, I have not received any message from them. If you have an emergency, I strongly advise you to find another dentist's office since this one is clearly apathetic and unprofessional. read more

They push unnecessary procedures and took 2 hours to give us a treatment plan where they included things just to hike up the cost of the treatment. I'm honestly terrified of the dentist but I figured I had to face my fears eventually. I came here for an exam and recently came back to get my fillings done. Dr. Cody examined my teeth and I was so surprised by how efficient he was. He recommended I come back to do my fillings so I schedule another appointment with Dr. Cody to get my fillings done. He is seriously the numbing master. When he was numbing my mouth for my fillings, he was so gentle and it was less painful than I was expecting. He removed my metal fillings and filled everything while constantly checking that I wasn't in pain. 11/10 would recommend Dr. Cody. Super efficient and personable. read more

I went to this dentist recently for a teeth cleaning and exam. I had not been to a dentist in some years so I was anticipating it needing to be a deep cleaning. However, the deep cleaning was $899!!!!! And I was told I would only able to get one side done for the first visit, and would need to come back for the other side. This cleaning was in no way a "deep clean". She did the basic scraping, and some additional deeper gum scraping. Nothing more. It was done in less than 15 minutes. They are charging $284 PER SIDE. In what universe is that an acceptable amount for half of my mouth to be "deep cleaned"? And of course, it was not covered by my insurance. They also charged me $76 for the dentist to talk to me... half of which was not even about my teeth. I am absolutely in shock that a business is fine with charging regular people this much money for a service that is not a root canal, not a filling, just a very short and not thorough "deep cleaning".
