put the wrong bolt on my rear caliper and struggling to take it off now. never bringing my vehicle to them again.

Place has changed a lot!!! I just returned back to Western Ma area after 4 years and I figured I would go back to the place I used to have my oil changes done for years. Let's just say I was very surprised to learn that customer does not matter at all at this location anymore. I had a very unpleasant experience with Jeff (the manager). I made an appointment on the phone and mentioned I had a coupon you send me all the time. I assumed I was going to pay what I normally pay which is around $70 normally for my VW Jetta. When I was checking out I was told $124.20 and I was very unhappy because I wish I was told before the service what the cost was going to be. I would have definitely not agree to that cost. Jeff the manager made me feel stupid for expecting a better price and when I told him I don't appreciate his way of talking to me he just shrug his shoulders. When I informed him I will not be returning for more service from this location he loudly said "GOOD". To make sure I was being wrong in this case I just called a location in Northampton MA and they gave me a quote for my car same service (full synthetic) of $68 and change. C'mon that's almost HALF fo Jeff's cost!! If you decide to use them make sure you are told what you are expected to PAY upfront!!! read more

While driving on the highway, my service engine light came on. I took the next exit and dropped in on this Monro. Kyle used a handheld OBD device to diagnose what was happening, explain the results to me, and clear the errors from the car's computer. When I offered to give him some money, he politely refused. My first two experiences with Monro oil changes were fine. My last, however, was not. While servicing my vehicle under the hood the tech came out and told me to my surprise that there was a serious problem with my radiator. It needed to be replaced immediately and he quickly printed an estimate. One of the reasons I was surprised is that I have had no problems with it and I checked it after I left and it has been checked elsewhere and no problems found. Scammers and Liars!!! I went in for a brake diagnostics and brake bleed. I was told by Jeff that my master cylinder that was just replaced was defective because it wasn't installed correctly, ok I guess... it was installed by a mechanic with 15+ years under his belt, but whatever. I was charged for a new one, and it HAD to be brand new with all the bells and whistles. I took the supposed defective one back to the parts supplier I had gotten it from and was told the part was fine, it worked just as it was suppose to. Ok whatever I got my money back. But then I'm told by Jeff that my brand new calipers are damaged and put on the wrong sides. Now my suspicions are rising, all of those parts are less then a week old and brand new from a reputable parts supplier and not cheap at all and installed by a mechanic with 15+ years under his belt. Finally they start bleeding my brakes, and remind you I'm now watching everything that they do to my car right outside of the bay. They bleed the brakes but no diagnostics. Hours go by and they take it for a test drive, still having issues so it goes back in, another hour goes by and they test drive again. This time Jeff informs me that the brakes are 100% better, that the pedal is soft but as I drive it will get harder due to the fluid needing to run thru the ABS system. Other then that the car was all set andthe brakes are working. Ok great the car is fixed, exhausted, I go in and pay and go to my car. The brakes work and the pedal is soft. I'm no mechanic so I follow his advice. Upon looking over my statement I see that I wasn't charged for a master cylinder but for a brake booster, a more expensive part! And my car's brakes aren't getting better but worse, at this point I don't know what to do so my aunt calls Monro and talks to Jeff to tell him that the car pretty much still has no brakes and that he charged us for the wrong part. Jeff's response was, "he should've have taken the car then if it had no brakes and that we told him that.". Ok so now I'm a liar and it's my fault? As for the wrong part Jeff informs my aunt that, "he signed the paperwork showing the work done on the car, so there's nothing that can be done.". Wtf are you kidding me? So my aunt ask if they'll look at the car and fix it since it obviously wasn't fixed, to which Jeff replies, "yeah it'll be another $100 to diagnose it and then whatever the car needs from there.". WHAT! Are you kidding me right now? You never fixed the car in the first place! Like I said scammers and liars. You will definitely get taken for a ride here, do not go here, spend your hard earned money at a dealership or a trusted mechanic. This place has a rotating door with its employees and its mangers. I came here to get my brakes inspected and worked on. There was a high pitched squeezing so I knew that couldn't be good. The employee at the front desk, Alan, was very polite and helpful. After the brakes were inspected, Alan took me to see what was wrong with the front brakes detailing where the problems were, what they could do about it, why it needed to be done, and left the decision to me. My brakes work wonderfully now and are in great shape. My only complaint is that their waiting area could use a TV, coffee/water station. Their bathroom was out of order and I didn't see a waste basket in the waiting area. Other than that, the service was good and I feel a lot more comfortable going there again if I have to. read more

I bought tires online and had them delivered here to be put on. The guys here are super nice and polite and had them put on in no time. Even let me know some things that might be wrong with my car that could lead to future problems. I knew about these things ahead of time so I knew they weren't exaggerating. I would like to commend Jeff and his exceptional team of mechanics for their outstanding service! My 98 Pathfinder was in need of some serious attention and so I brought it to Jeff for the repair. Thankfully, Eric expertly replaced my 20 year old Valve Cover Gaskets, installed new Spark Plugs and replaced a defective Throttle Position Sensor. Eric is a superb mechanic and always goes the extra mile to properly service my vehicle. In fact, he stayed late to finish this job. The vehicle is now running smoothly! went in to get an alignment & oil change, suddenly I'm looking at a $1200+ estimate for replacing/fixing tie rods on the car they did not test drive the car at all the guy was being sarcastic and trying to be funny throughout the entire thing.. claiming one of his workers is a "jeep expert", and whatever he says GOES when it comes to jeeps... I was then told at least my brakes were in good shape, thats some good news. 2 weeks later I got a letter in the mail from monro saying "your brakes weren't looking too good during our last inspection, you will want to come in and have us fix them".. they were obviously trying to find any way possible to get money from me. I went to get another estimate from a different mechanic... the man test drove the car, and gave me a call later that it would be $255 to fix BOTH tie rods, and he addressed the clicking sound on the rear axel.. the bushing needed to be replaced, and that would be $300. The total fix is costing me $555. I don't even want to know what the estimate would look like if monro said I need to get my bushings fixed/replaced. read more

He makes sure that his supporting staff carries that same integrity. Hard to find a chain shop like this in a world of jiffy lubes but I hands down recommend the Chicopee location. read more

Friendly customer service provided by the staff. Easy oil change process. Waited roughly 25 mins. Different products and prices were described and presented. I did not feel pressured or upsold on bs. Inside waiting area was decent, could use watering station/coffee bar. They also provide a bathroom for customers. Use of online coupons was seamless. read more

Called to have a diagnostic done . My horn was not working. Came in was there for a total of 15min before he came back and told me i may have a wire issue? Told me they put a new fuse but that did not fix the problem. Common sense for anyone would have been to check the fuse before bringing it in to a shop. RIGHT? I also a assumed a diagnostic meant to check the car thoroughly. When i asked him if they checked my engine light and could tell me why it was on also. His response wAs well u only called for your horn. Very disappointed in there customer service and lack of care. When i was a regular customer. Moral of the story spent 30.00 for nothing . I honestly hate having to write negative reviews but these guys are really sub-par .. The service is out of a bad movie where the guy blows his nose on a rag in a ladies face when she walks in to service her audi... Yes i did see this.. Dropped off my car to get oil change and balance a single tire..took them an hour an half.. Then i noticed thet over filled the oil by 2quarts. So i needed to get a tear down done for my ins company as the muffler was damaged in arear collison so i figured id get that done at the same time. When i arrived with my 4page ins claim papaper work i was told by the manager that there was no contact number for him to get authorization.. I assumed there must have been an era and went home to call my ins. Company . only to find the number provided on the paper work i provided him was exactly what they needed... So needless to say im not bringing in my vehicle for work at a place thats acts like theyve never seen an insurance claim paper work in their life.. Aside from these small oversights the managers combative and overall negative attitude made it a decidley unpleasent waste of my time.. Yes the extra oil will have to be removed at another garage.. Well see about a refund.. read more
