I was scared to drive to work in Farmington, CT (45 mins away). I asked Jay if he could look at the radiator fluid because I had a flush done by JiiffyLube in East Longmeadow. He looked at it and informed me that the fluid had been flushed but not replaced (unbelievable). I had just taken it to a dealership mechanic which had charged me a lot of money, not to fix the problem, but just to tell me that they examined the car and indeed I had a problem (duh). I started calling other mechanics to get a second opinion and Arc seemed not only the most knowledgeable. Not to mention, very patient and understanding while I kept waffling back and forth of whether it was worth bringing it in. But Arc said that they wouldn't charge me if they couldn't fix it :) Well, to make a long story short, yes, my car needed a lot of work. Steve managed to pinpoint the problem immediately. And told me about possible solutions and cost and then advised me not to spend the money on it, which I appreciated that he told me honestly rather than trying to sell me on fixing it. Even though Steve was able to get to the root of the problem quickly, he still spent additional hours to make sure of what it needed. And I am grateful for the detailed explanation of what was actually going on with the car so I could make an educated decision (which was not to spend more money on a sinking ship). The gentleman at State Line (he was a gentleman) got a portable air pump, filled the tire with air, checked the pressure on all the other tires to make sure that all had the same pressure, and advised me to bring the car in for tire service at home if the tire lost pressure. He would not accept any payment from me for his work. I could not pay him in cash, so I offer this review in lieu of payment. A very rewarding experience.

I said you didn't even diagnose what was wrong with tire, you just automatically went to get money out of me. I said there is only one place I can get an honest opinion and that is Duffy Tire. They are Northampton's first tire company established over 50 years ago before the big chains came in with there slick advertising to lure you in with there low prices. Well the old saying still stands ,you get what you pay for.Jim Duffy has been working for his father since he was 9 years old.Nobody knows more about tires than Jim Duffy.Jim did a full inspection on the tire and said you must of hit one of those sewer holes raised above the road during construction on Prospect street and popped the seal. I'll take care of that real quick. Tire has been good ever since. I asked what do I owe you, he said nothing, I take care of my long term loyal customers.
