I had an excellent experience here. I brought my show car in, 1969 Vette, and asked them to design a sound system without doing any cutting or drilling. They came through with an awesome design that fits perfectly and sounds great. Mikki, the owner, communicated with me throughout the process and kept me informed every inch of the way. the technicians, James, and Dave, are super knowledgeable and great at what they do. Unfortunately the owner Leo passed away and the new owner which is his daughter is not helpful at all. I had a subwoofer and amp installed end of last year while Leo was still there at the shop. All of a sudden my sub stopped working and when I took it to the shop they did not know what happened all they know is my sub and amp both gave out. Since the new owner (daughter) can't find where Leo bought the sub from there is nothing they can't do. Total BS. Her excuse is "my dad passed away and this is a new company and I don't know where everything is" like I said total BS specially cause the guy who was there when I had it installed still works there. So now I'm out of almost $1k and her only solution is to buy a new set of equipment and still pay for labor. WTFFF. He was brought to the Lamborghini dealership and instantly admitted to his mistake and agreed to pay for all the damages in front of a witness. As of now he was served twice and will be facing legal consequences. He will be taking to the court in the next upcoming weeks. He should not be allowed to work on super cars and I hope this legal action will prevent him from destroying other exotic cars. I will keep you posted with the final outcome. My husband surprised me with a new stereo system complete with subwoofer, 6 speakers, amplifier, and back-up camera!!! The original stereo that came with my 2013 Jeep was mediocre at best. There was no back-up camera and my tunes could be drowned out fairly quickly just driving down the freeway. To say I am happy is an understatement! This stereo is ridiculously loud and crisp even at higher volumes. I LOOOOVE IT!!!!!! My husband said he can hear me coming down the street LOL! I don't care. I'm like a teenager that way. I love music and I like it loud. I just plug in my phone and all my music is cued up on the touch screen. I can receive calls, texts and emails without looking at my phone. The Replaced my Head Unit which had been installed poorly by another shop. They were quick in finding an affordable replacement that worked wonderfully for my SUV. This Unit improved my speakers quality as the shop before had incorrectly wired them. Took 2 ish hours great time in and out, the Same Day. Worst car stereo install I've ever had. I was recommended to come to Leo. Horrible idea. Please be aware of the sneakiness. Make sure to get a price quote before leaving your car. They will find was to charge as much as possible. Not only did they not finish the job right, they wouldn't take responsibility for it. I was just given excuse after excuse. And when I wanted it fixed, I had to come back twice and each time I was given another excuse to why he couldn't that day. I'm very busy with work, and I already set time aside to have it installed. And installed right the fist time. Which is what anyone would expect. So three visits later I decided to se if he cared enough to follow up knowing I wasn't happy with the install. He never called me at all. It's been two months and the guy doesn't care that they did a poor job and not finish what was promised. The app radio they installed required an Apple cable for it to work in sync with your phone. I explained this to the installer who should have known to simply plug in the cable to the back of the unit. They obviously didn't know anything about the unit itself (which a car audio installer should know specially since it is an app radio). In addition, they had a dash kit already that they charged me almost $200 for and was apparently used or was a defective dash kit. All the buttons are uneven looks like some are sticking out further then others. Leo told me that's how they come from that manufacture. He would not call them himself to confirm and told me to. So I did and they said no way they shipped their products out that way. They make quality products and showed me others that looked perfect. Leo was proven wrong. They left all the cut cables throughout my car instead of cleaning them out. That's just simply lazy work. They did not put any of the panels back together properly leaving them half way exposed. One will not even clamp back into place. The GPS sensor/receiver was installed out side the car on the right side of the roof on the car when it should have been installed inside. They just magnetically placed it on my roof leaving it completely expose to rip right off. To add to it all, my starter stopped working the next day. And left me stranded having to tow my car to a shop. That may or may have not been their fault. But it was working fine when I left my car for the install. This all goes to show how much Leo cares for the quality of the work being done as well as his costumers. He had me do his job for him. I went ahead and made the repairs myself. Just to let everyone know, I had the same stereo installed in my Audi S4 at Best Buy and the installer did a way better job with the install for half the cost. Their shop was a wreck and that should have been a warning sign but I decided to try them anyway since it was an easy job and they came recommended. I had quite an experience at this place. The guy who "helped" me was Chris. So I wanted to get a head unit and speakers installed in my Town and Country van. His first quote for a Pioneer head unit along with two pairs of speakers was something obscene, around 600 dollars. He was charging me twice the price of the head unit and about the same on the speakers. I politely pointed out that the price on the head unit was a bit high, and asked him if he could do better. He said he could do it for 475, which still seemed pretty high, but I wanted to just get a decent sound system in the car, so I said yes. Now, if they had done an honest job, I wouldn't have written this review. Here's what happened next. After he told me the job was done, I got in the car and noticed a few very peculiar things. The manual was tattered, torn around the edges. Then I noticed that there was a thin layer of dust lining the inside of the CD player. I took the faceplate off and examined it carefully. It was undoubtedly used, and god knows for how long. I showed them to Chris, and asked him to show me the packaging. He started muttering as he walked back to the stock room and grabbed a new box. He took the faceplate from me and took a new one out of the box and plastic bag along with a new manual. So not only had the Pioneer been marked up by double, he tried to sell me a used car stereo! That is some real audacity. If I was an average consumer, I might not have noticed them trying to pull a fast one on me. They picked the wrong guy; I am a professional audio engineer and musician that buys and sells things on Craigslist all the time, so I know what *used* looks like. After reading my review (and all the other horror stories), if you still want to go in there, may god help you. read more

After looking over the many vintage cars in the shop shared with an upholsterer, I went across the street to La Haciendia for great food. In an hour my car was ready. Me: I'm looking for an iPod adapter for my car, 2007 G35 Infiniti Him: We have that, it'll be $300. Me: (Thinking: you haven't even showed it to me yet) What do you mean $300? I've looked online and it's around $150 everywhere else. Him: Well, I'm quoting the installation too Me: I didn't ask for installation. I don't need installation. Him: OK, $175. Me: Well, can I see it first? Him: (Shows it to me) This is the best one Me: Do you have any others? Him: Yes, but it's not as good as this one. (Then continues to go on and on how this one is the best one.) Me: Ok, I'll buy it, but what's your return policy? Him: You can return it anytime. Are you sure you can install it? It's pretty difficult (Meaning he wants to take more of my money.) Me: I have a friend that works for Infiniti, he can do it for me. Him: Ok then... Later that night, I take it home and do my research. I'm not just a dumb chick that settles on what I buy. I take it home, research and see if he did give me good deal. Low and behold, I find the EXACT model, brand new, free shipping from a top-rated seller on Ebay for $119. So next day I go into the store... Him: (Completely ignores the customer in front of him that he's talking to and turns to me) Why are you back so soon??? Me: I want to return this Him: It didn't work? Me: Actually, I did my research and found it online for over $55 cheaper Him: (Starting to get defensive) Well, how do you know it's a good one? Me: Because I did my research and it from a top rated seller with 99% positive feedback and it's in an enclosed packaging and free shipping. Him: I'll sell to you for $120 then. Me: No thank you, I don't want your business Wow, talk about being a girl and feeling ripped off. Especially after he said he'd sell it to me for cheaper after I found it on ebay. To me, it's not even about the price, but the ethics and I wasn't feeling his business ethics so I would rather wait and get it on ebay then buy through him. I wouldn't recommend this place. I have a very bad experience. I needed a new stereo. Went for a replacement for a total amount of 400 and something dollars. However, they disconnected the battery for so long it messed up the PCM's adaptive memory. I have to get that fix with a total of 900. I spend so much money for their bad labor! He also wanted to charge me an extra 100 to add the steering wheel features in the car, when he previously said he would add it to the charge of the stereo assembly, You would assume all features would work when installing a new stereo. The sound is horrible I can not raise the volume because the sound is very bad, I had GPS navigation system in my car, once again he said the sound on the navigation would be on . The sound was not working. On top of that, they didn't assemble it back properly, they left out the cover of the amplifier and OWNER wanted to keep it along with the none-working stereo. (probably to re-sell) Which now leads me to think if it was really not working anymore. I feel very cheated and sad because I was saving money for the stereo for a long time. I end it up not paying for my classes because the gears were locking at 30-mph. So I couldn't go to work. Imagine commuting to work San Jose to Redwood City on HWY 101. read more

I had gone to Leo several times over the span of two cars I owned. The last visit I wanted better sounding audio, which he said all I needed was an amplifier. I had speakers he had previously installed. He said it would only take one day. That was important for me because I have to take work off to meet his schedule. When the day comes he calls me 2 hours before they close saying the job is finished. Great! Except the audio was horrible! Huge amount of distortion and popping and really muddy bass. So I call him. And after a seconds of explaining he cuts me off and says he knows what's wrong and it needs complete re wiring. Why didn't he know this to begin with? So another day I have to take off. The day comes again and it still sounds horrible. Now he tells me it's not his fault. It's because I have a factory stere mo and unless I get a new one it will never sound well. I ask if there's some type of converter that can help and he says no. Well I go to ACTUAL experts and it turns out in my Honda Accord 2018 I shouldn't try to remove the factory stereo BUT there's a converter whose whole purpose is to help great audio come out of factory stereos. So I call Leo again and he says he can install it in a few hours. Completely ignores the fact that he was wrong and giving me misleading information. Those few hours turn to him needing a 3RD day for him to do it and he tells me "work with my Bryan I'm trying to help you". First of all no. I'm trying to work with you since I have to be the educated one on what my car needs. And you've failed to do even a mediocre job this whole time. At the end of the day he installed it and it sounded better but still muddy. He has zero knowledge on specific cars. Zero skill on balancing audio.... I went to another shop in with simple tweaking to the amplifiers made my sound like a night and day difference better. Leo with speak to you quickly. NOT give details in what you are buying, and why you need the parts he recommends. He sold me an overpriced amp... THATS MADE FOR BOATS. I got an expensive amplifier that's waterproof and has way less potential for the price I paid. I used to respect him. I never was pushy or haggled price. Yet he clearly prefers some quick cash then respecting his customers. Took no responsibility in the poor job his men did, let alone at any point apologized for his lack of knowledge. I've been to Monney twice. The first time, I went in and explained I wanted to be able to operate my ipod through my dvd player/stereo. They needed to order a special cord to do this. Cool no prob. So the guy took down my information and said he'd call me within a few days, whenever this cord arrives. Over a week goes by and I get no call. Not a big deal, maybe he lost my phone number or just plain forgot. It happens. So I go in again to follow up. I talk to someone different and tell him the situation. He apologizes and says he'll follow up with the first guy I spoke to. He re-takes down my information and says he'll call me once the cord arrives. I say perfect, and leave. That was about 8 months ago. No call. I give two stars because who knows, maybe I would've had a great experience! Just, if they gave me an experience at all. :/ read more

First, I find it suspicious that the three 5 star ratings are from users with only one review. I don't believe it. Here's a TRUE story... I spent about $10k at Monney about 6 years ago. It took them about 2 months to install... I actually had to physically go there and ask them to work on my car because more important customers apparently had a priority. To add to my frustration, one guy in particular on my car seemed to be drunk most of the time and actually asked me at one point to get him a bottle of booze in order for him to finish the work quickly. I complained to the owner many times about the quality of the work and he's refused to do anything about it. Had a horrible experience with this installer. +$5k sound system in an exotic car and it never worked right. Amp kept cutting out, fuses blowing, and speakers then blowing. I replaced a sub on my own because they were slow to respond, they added a fan (which is crazy), then larger fuses. After taking it back several times and having to leave the car every time, I took it to another installer in SF. They found the problem right away. Inadequate power lines going to the amp were used causing all the issues above. A very basic requirement and quick fix if you know what you are doing. Sounded like a completely different system and so sad this supposed long term shop could not get this right. BTW, was dealing directly with the owner Leo on all of this. Went there with my Rockford Fosgate powered sub, which means it's a subwoofer already in a box and amplifier altogether. They essentially hook that to that battery and to my head unit and that's it, I provided all the wiring, and equipment. They tried to charge me 180 initially and eventually agreed upon $120 for this 1 hour installation. Ended up leaving and that night found out that my sub isn't even working, it pretty much sounds like a muffled speaker sitting in the trunk of my far. Didn't work at all. Ended up calling 4-6 times trying to set up and appointment and getting a time where I wasn't working to come in. They made it way too hard. Was hard to get a hold of. Gives his guys like 3 hours breaks. Seemed like a nice enough guy as an owner but I pretty much paid 120 for a sub in my car that isn't working and have been dodged by that place ever since. Awesome! In a previous life, I was heavy into car audio: I knew people with $10k show cars and even did some IASCA competing myself, so I have some experience in these matters. My first 'feel out' visit to Monney on the advice of Yelp started with some basic questions. I told him what I was looking for with a few specific requests. I liked the Alpine head unit, demanded iPod capability, wanted it powerful enough to play clear with the windows rolled down on the 280 (i.e. at 90mph). Leo was off on the right foot when he started by asking me what kind of music I listen to. He never tried to push me into something that I didn't need or try to steer me away from some crazy demand. I was traveling for work, so he had my car for a couple of weeks in total. He kept me up to date with emailed pictures, which was great. Workmanship was top notch. Even hidden components and wiring was done with the greatest care. Most important, the sound was fantastic. Leo helped me choose components that would work best for what I wanted , then proceeded to tweak and tune to make sure everything worked perfectly. After driving the car for a couple weeks, there were a couple things I wanted to change and Leo was happy to get everything done right. I would recommend this shop to anyone. read more

2000 Subaru 2.5 RS Sedan - I had Leo's guys install a Crutchfield alarm with remote trunk release. The alarm and trunk release worked perfectly for years. 2002 Subaru WRX Wagon - I have had shoddy work done at another local stereo shops, never again, you get what you pay for. Leo's prices aren't dirt cheap but he is more than fair. I had a 2002 Subaru WRX that another local company screwed up. For a reasonable price Leo fixed everything for me and hooked up the speed sensor to the navigation etc, did it RIGHT, I never had any problems after Leo and his boys worked on it. 2006 Volvo S60 - I referred a friend to Leo for a full car video/audio solution. The DVD player broke twice but Leo immediately replaced it for free the first time and put in a different model the second time which kept working without any issues. 2008 Acura MDX - I had them wire up my radar detector to power with the remote mute button discretely mounted on the dash behind the steering wheel. It stopped working after a couple days so in case it was the cable from the radar detector I picked up a new one and dropped it by. They checked all the connections while I watched and they were all connected. Installed the new cable and right away the remote fired up. I tried to pay Leo for the labor installing the second cable and he wouldn't let me, it was the cable's fault that I supplied to him! 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser - I referred my manager there and they did an excellent job on his truck installing a stereo and backup camera. Bottom line is, Leo is good people. I have been taking my cars to him and referring my friends to him for almost 10 years and he has consistently been honest, straightforward, fair and has done excellent work. five out of five. read more

I stopped in to ask a quick question, I was explained that all I needed was a simple adapter from the apple store. They were honest plus not pushy or sales focused...
