A quaint little toy shop, mostly American toys and trinkets. Collectibles (e.g. Marvel and Star Wars figurines and Funkos) are located in the rear of the store. Good prices, everything is fairly retail value or under. Small warning, some paraphernalia has explicit language if you're bringing in young children.

My husband and I recently visited Austin and participated in the Keep Austin Weird Scavenger Hunt. This super cute toy store was not on the scavenger hunt but I told the leaders of the hunt that it absolutely should be! This store is a true gem. We were walking past on the hunt for something else but we absolutely had to pop in! Check in on Yelp and they give you a gift! That was super fun and a great way to interact with the staff! My husband bought a Misfits action figure. Super cool because he's never even seen a Misfits action figure before. The whole store is super cool and worth checking out when you are in the area.

Superhero display. They have an these things for sake.

Super cute and fun toy store off South Congress in downtown Austin. They have an eclectic mix of new and vintage toys. It's a nice variety of toys selection for any age. There's also some touristy Austin souvenirs you can purchase, wall of socks and other items you may not be able to find in a usual store. Reasonably priced and even if you don't want to buy anything looking around and seeing the toys new, old, and never seen before is worth the stop in!

Monkey See Monkey Do is the place to go! They had the hard to find Grogu (Baby Yoda!) Chia Pet!! Their customer service is amazing as well. Steven not only put this item aside for me when they only had two left, he also helped me out of my parking spot when I had accidentally parked my car the wrong way on South Congress . This place is a gem! They have it all and go above and beyond.

This is THE place to go for a quirky gift for yourself or a friend!! They have super fun/funny/trendy stuff like dolls, mugs, books, art, decor - you name it. It's location is quite nice since street parking is free in this area and usually easy to find unless you are here during peek peek hours. The prices are actually not too bad and it is really fun to shop at a real store than online shop for fun and quirky stuff. This is the place to go when you want just that!

Awesome!

The beautiful objects are still there, but the shop appears to be quite understaffed... and whatever staff there is is struggling to keep up. I genuinely felt sorry for them. This is an ACE hardware store coupled with a tasteful, high end and carefully curated and presented homeware selection, including tableware, gardening supplies, greeting cards, candies and candles and one of a kind objects for the home. A $2,400 candelabra, a Smeg toaster, an excellent selection of flatware, tablecloths and glassware... pretty pajamas, $90 votive candles... But what to do if you want to know the price of that set of Wedgewood china, or the Rialto flatware? Prices are missing on so so many objects. And you cannot find a staff member... And you only have so much time before you need to meet mom for lunch. Ah well. Many of us are trying to ween ourselves off of online shopping. Retail stores... this is your moment to recoup some ground.

My husband went to the Westlake location today instead of the 29th Street location because it was more convenient and came home and told me his experience was like mine -- the staff was unavailable and somewhat dismissive. They told him there would be a three hour wait for gift wrap. Another customer got very frustrated with the lack of help checking out. Hopefully corporate reads these reviews and uses it as an opportunity to hire different managers and/or train the staff better at this location. This has been a longstanding problem at this location but is NOT a problem at the other Breed & Company locations.

Now, the real star: the gluten-free baked goods. We tried four different things, cookies included, and honestly? I was stunned. The flavor, the softness, the balance, nothing felt like a "gluten-free compromise." It tasted like the real deal, maybe even better. Not overly sweet, not dry, not crumbly, just genuinely delicious pastries that happen to be gluten-free. I don't know what magic they're working in that kitchen, but this is easily the best gluten-free bakery I've come across. A must-visit, no question.

Every piece in the store appears to be intentionally curated. Maaribu melds a home and gift shop with an in house café and bakery, creating an experience that's both relaxing and memorable. According to Mable, my server, Maaribu is a combination of the word Marfa (Texas town that has the Prada store) and Malibu. The brand is often described as combining Marfa's creative spirit, Malibu's laid back lifestyle, and clean Scandinavian design. The shop portion of Maaribu is beautifully styled, featuring furniture, décor, books, and gifts that have a modern flare. All the items are easy to peruse and get drawn in. The use of color is playful and engaging. Maaribu's key highlight is its café and bakery. The in house café has an assortment of coffee, wellness beverages, and dedicated gluten free baked goods. I bought a Rose honey latte, which was divine along with a multi-layer pastry. Mable said customers enjoy the quality and flavor of the pastries...scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites are frequent favorites. Importantly, the café is reported to be fully gluten free, which makes it a standout destination for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, without sacrificing taste or variety. The outdoor seating and patio area add to the charm, making Maaribu a great place to enjoy coffee and pastries on a nice Austin morning. After years in Austin, I finally discovered Maaribu--a modern, eclectic coffee shop and store. Every item is thoughtfully curated, blending a home-and-gift shop with a café and bakery for a relaxing experience. The name combines Marfa's creative vibe, Malibu's laid-back style, and Scandinavian design. The shop offers stylish furniture, décor, books, and gifts, all easy to browse and visually engaging. Maaribu's café is fully gluten-free, featuring quality pastries like scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites, as well as wellness drinks and coffee. Outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to enjoy coffee and pastries on a pleasant Austin morning. Wow...Maaribu!!!
