They have an eclectic menu; with Irish classics of course, Mexican, Italian and American favorites. Our Server was Kelly. It was a slow Sunday afternoon. Down the block was a Oaxacan festival Guelaguetza; plenty of food there, but it was a hot and humid day and the food stalls added more heat. We thought why not get a cold beer in an air conditioned place. Free WiFi Password - Guinness TV's all over the place, with different sports on them. Beer: ales, IPA's, pilsners. Mixed drinks. Cold cans of beer on ice. I asked Why no bottles? There's a college nearby and a glass bottle could pose a problem. A daily event calendar: karaoke night, trivia night, see photo. I can imagine on a weekend night this place is really hopping. The Poughkeepsie Metro North station is within walking distance. They have parking and outdoor dining options. We will be back.

She let us keep our car there and ensured we got into the correct car for our uber to leave the bar that night, made sure I parked in view of the cameras. I first moved up to Hyde Park about nine months ago, and when I first got here, having just moved…read moreup from Virginia, I didn't quite feel at home and was still getting settled in. It wasn't until I started going to Georgie's with my girlfriend and our friends that I really started to like Hyde Park. Georgie's is definitely in my top five favorite bars I've been to, possibly top three. Keep in mind, I've been drunk across the United States and a good portion of Asia (Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and I got drunk in Laos once but sitting on a bench drinking by yourself doesn't quite count as a bar), so this is no small compliment. There's nothing special about the bar - it's got two pool tables, some lotto machines, a pretty basic selection of booze and beers, and pizza and snacks. What brings me to Georgie's is the people - the bartenders are all really nice (usually!), and the owner, George Ose, is there every night. Georgie O's is my hometown bar, now, so I love it. I'd definitely recommend coming for karaoke night, which goes down every other Friday, I think. Usually on those nights there's a good crowd of kids from the Culinary Institute of America, and you'll most likely see me there, having a blast. There are other bars in town, but I was never a fan of the vibe at Crossroads (and that it's cash only, last time I was there), Mahoney's is usually too college-y (that's fine every now and then, but I had plenty of that in college), and Darby's is more of the same, I hear. If you want a nice, chilled out bar with none of the bullshit, Georgie O's is the place.

Its poorly equipped to have music as they are stuffed in a back room. The poor bar tender, was bartender, order taker, order delivererer....which we can assure you doesn't not work. The smoking area out side basicly drafts those sitting at the last 3 tables let alone the over powering smell of nicotine. 2 couples briefly sat at out table; and left. we had 2 drinks but no food....and left. It might be a good spot for a small group. parking is very limited. we parked by the garbage units and some client graciously parked the entryway closed. All in all a really bad experience but i salute the bar tender woman for keeping her cool.
