This store is any design fan's nirvana. BES has beautiful, fully-dressed, color-themed vignettes…read more(including all manner of accessories from toss pillows to high quality silk flowers to tchotchkes), and the store's accent wall, painted in the color de la saison, is positively brilliant. BSE is no ordinary furniture store. The offerings manage to be simultaneously current and timeless (without being stodgy) and every time I visit, I leave with new inspiration (the perfect gift with purchase). In addition to the wonderful furniture, the store has a wide array of home and women's accessories (at varying price points) making BSE a great place to pick up a stylish gift for almost any occasion. The tres chic holiday decorations in non-traditional colors are a great reason to visit. Susan herself is a design-world phenom (Check out her bio). Her classes are positively inspiring and her thoughtful solutions to design problems are breathtaking. Do view her on-line portfolio and blog and consider taking one of her classes. You won't be disappointed.

$25,000... for TWO Christmas Trees?!…read more I don't normally blast a business on social media, but this one... this one deserves it. And honestly, I need to vent before my head explodes like an overinflated ornament. As many of you know, my wife and I recently moved into a big, beautiful new home. So, wanting to do something special for her first Christmas in it, I decided to surprise her by having the inside professionally decorated for the holidays. The plan was simple: we'd walk up to the front door after our Thanksgiving cruise, she'd see a single elegant wreath, open the door, and BAM--Christmas magic. Hallmark-movie level brilliance. Something she'd remember forever. Well... she'll remember it. Not in a good way. I found a company online called Black Eyed Susan in Doylestown. I spoke with Susan herself -- and in hindsight, the red flags were waving like a parade. But I ignored them, gave her a $25,000 budget, sent photos of the house, arranged access while we were away, and paid a deposit. Fast-forward to the big reveal. We pull up to the house, and instead of holiday wonder... We're greeted by two massive flower pots tipped over on the front steps. Dirt everywhere. My wife is already annoyed. We spend 10 minutes trying to lift the things before realizing the bottoms are ROUND. Not flat. ROUND. Who even designs pots that way? The answer: someone selling overpriced junk. But hey, maybe the inside would redeem things... right? Spoiler alert: it didn't. We open the door expecting Christmas brilliance, and instead--we get... A Christmas tree in the foyer. Just one. And not even a remarkable one. Literally just... a tree. And some droopy, wilted green garland that looked like it had fought a battle with a weed whacker and lost. That's it. For the whole entryway. We turn the corner into the family room, and there's another Christmas tree -- this one comically oversized, like it was trying to escape from a shopping mall. A few random glass balls dangled from the upstairs walkway. Four windows got lonely ornaments. And the mantle -- which on Susan's website looks glamorous and luxurious -- had the saddest strand of wilted garland you've ever seen. I've seen more impressive greenery at Home Depot in JULY. So for $25,000, what did we actually get? Two Christmas trees and some wilted greenery. That's it. That's the whole list. After a few days of trying to reason with Susan the Snob -- who, by the way, speaks to customers like she's hand-selecting decor for the Queen of England -- I realized something: My wife was supposed to get a Hallmark Christmas. Instead, I accidentally hired the villain of the movie. I even tried to be MORE than fair. I told her she could take everything back and keep $10,000 just for her "time." But nope. Susan the Snob decided she wants ANOTHER $5,000 from me. $5,000. For... what exactly? The dirt on my porch? Feel free to tell her what you think of that idea. And finally -- if anyone wants two giant, overbearing Christmas trees for next year... come get them. Free of charge. Because we will NEVER be using them again.

Kitchen Magic did our kitchen in two stages over three years and we are very pleased to say that we…read moreare delighted with the results. From the beginning to the end the process was open and fair. Starting with the knowledgeable sales person and proceeding through the technical measuring appointment, installation, follow up, and subsequent service we were made to feel comfortable with the project - on both occasions. We felt our business was valued and our home was respected by every representative that came through our door. We refaced our kitchen and did our countertop at a later time. We had another urgent household expense and had to put the countertop off for what we thought would be six months that stretched into three years. Kitchen Magic assured us the job could be sectioned out with no consequences and even exceeded our expectations by offering us just over the initial price they quoted three years prior to complete the quartz countertop and back splash. We required service on two occasions and received prompt attention and the repairs were made with no charge on one occasion and little charge on the the other since it was our decision to change something after the job was completed. Five stars well earned and a pleasure to do business with. We have referred Kitchen Magic to friends and family without hesitation and will continue to do so. They all have been as satisfied as we are.

I liked the sales rep, but the prices were outrageously high for a particle press board cabinet and…read morethermofoil doors. The rep corrected me and called it a 'wrapped door' but its still thermofoil and can warp and melt if near a heat source (think oven, stove etc..). the warranty used to be lifetime. Then it was 11 years and then I was quoted 5 years. Odd to me, because the quote was nearly 50k higher than a local cabinet maker with maple boxes, wood doors and drawers, slow close etc... yes, 50k more! I asked initially just for a countertop quote. I never got it. The company called and said they would send me a counter quote but never did. I assume that price would be super high as well. As I said the rep was kind, the product and company service, a big NO.
