This place is very suck. Don't waste your money. Food is too bad and owner is very rude to customer. The restaurant owner endless came to our table and interrupted the meal with "very rude words". We couldn't eat comfortably. Eventually, after leaving the restaurant, my friend threw up. Thanks We went to Chicago for a trip, but the first restaurant ruined the day. Food suck too. We left almost all the food. And price was very expensive.. OMG. They don't know how to make Korean food. Menu: 1.Agwi Jjim: The fishy smell of the fish is too strong and bland. Fish is tough, too. Anyway that's not Agwi Jjim 2. Gamja Tang: that's not Gamja Tang. Suck. Taste and texture is bad. (what is this..?) I'm Korean, I've never ever eat those food in Korea. however side dish is not bad. "Only side dish." PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Go to a place where you can spend your day more valuablely.

Bowl&BBQ never disappoints! I have tried, I've been trying numerous of korean restaurants. But Bowl&BBQ is always go to when we crave for korean. Their side dishes are amazing! Soups are fresh. We love to order for to go and our order will be ready to pick up in only 10-15 mins. Seems this place is family owned and they put their heart into their business! Definitely recommend their tofu soup, kamjatang, kalbitang and many other dishes.

Excellent service and fantastic food. They have yangyum gejang, which is hard to find in restaurants. It was spicy, so if you enjoy spicy I suggest you get it. The bossam was plentiful and included large fresh and clean oysters. We also ordered the gamja-tang and cold noodle soup. There were heaping amounts of beef in it and the soup was very savory. We also ordered the pajun as well. It was crispy, light, and flavorful. The service was excellent. The server was very attentive and kind. The restaurant was bustling with people. The ambience was light and fun. Lots of family in the restaurant that seemed like regular customers. Definitely enjoyed my time at this restaurant with my party of five. Definitely will be back!!!

We wanted to try this spot BUT guess not. For the people who can't physically take the vaccine, do not come here. Or religious reasons etc. They require you show a vaccine card to eat here. Looks Oba that is a few spots next to them will be getting more business.

This place has some really good Korean staples like bulgogi and galbi but also has great soups and good seafood. They have really good Suwon Wangjokbal (glazed pig feet) and Agwi Jjim(steamed anglerfish). It's great for sharing with groups of 4 or more. As far as little lunch menu, they have an abundance of selections to choose from...you can go here everyday and not get sick of the selections on the menu. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!

Awesome staff and great food! It was our first time trying an authentic Korean food experience and this place made it great. We will definitely be back!

This is probably my worst experience in my whole life. Me and my co workers usually order food from here our lunch time. But my last order was unbelievable. Inside my food there was some part of cleaning tools steel and it's chocked in my throat. When I pulled it out cut my throat. When I called about what happened the person who answered he said they didn't get any order from us. I think this place shouldn't exist. Horrible unclean don't go there

I came in pretty late, around 1:30 in the afternoon and I ordered a mackerel dish and my beloved Haemul Pajeon (seafood pancake). The pancake came out pretty quickly and was pretty average compared to most Korean restaurants. The mackerel dish was definitely memorable for a couple of reasons. The first thing I noticed was that the dish came with a lot of fish (a great thing) and it was covered in spicy, red sauce. Nothing outrageously spicy. Just the same kind of spice paste that is usually associated with kimchi. There were also a lot of radishes and green onion with it so it felt like it was just a massive amount of food and completely worth the price. The fish itself tasted fresh and meaty, even with all the bones still in it. Between that, the pancake, rice and soup and banchans, I was pretty stuffed and had food leftover for days. Although I really enjoyed the dish, it isn't something I would necessarily get again. I'm glad I tried it because it was something I didn't know existed but I think I like my mackerel broiled with a crispier skin next time.

I came here for dinner during the week with a friend. It was delicious. We ordered a seafood pancake and yuk gae jang, which is spicy beef soup. It came with a lot of banchan (side dishes). The yuk gae jang had just the right amount of flavor and spice. The waitress was friendly. It was actually kind of unusual because most Korean places seem like they are in a rush to get customers in and out but this place let us take our time. We actually felt kind of awkward asking for the check because it seemed like they were enjoying their conversation at a different table, eating dinner. Overall, a great place for Korean food.

I ordered enough for two, which means I would have something for the next two meals. The restaurant has been around for a while, and it is a stand alone building. The menu, like what you will find in Malaysia - a mixed of Chinese, Malay, and Indian. The service is always prompt. Here's what I ordered: 1) Roti Canai served with Malaysian chicken curry - the curry is unlike Indian curry. This is a typical Malaysian style curry. You take a piece of the crispy yet a little chewy pan fried dough and dipped in this curry broth. That combination will kick off your appetite. 2) Seafood and Tofu clay pot - a mix of fish fillet, squid, shrimp, vegetables and homemade tofu served in a clay pot. The tofu is delicious - crispy outside with soft and silky center - chef's kiss! 3) String bean mixed with balacan - balacan is a Malaysian sambal sauce made with shrimp paste and chili. It has this savory, sweet and lightly spicy flavor mixed with crispy string beans. It was a delightful dinner! There are many other dishes that I'll come back for, especially other dishes with their homemade tofu.

My wife, her mom, and I were in Chicago to remember my father-in-law's death anniversary, and my sister-in-law chose Chef Ping's, for our party of nine for a Wednesday lunch. Parking is plentiful and the dining area can seat a lot. We got seated at a large round table in the back room, with a large lazy susan (just need to remember to spin it very slowly). We ordered a lot, and the food came out slowly. There was plenty of leftovers for the local folks to have for future meal or two. 3 Shrimp Toast (6 pieces each) - $26.85 - greasy but good, with the shrimp paste being a little sweet (in a good way) Noodle in Black Bean Sauce ($12.50) - this is jja jang myeon, which two of us had the previous night. It was OK, not near the top of the best I've had. Ping's Noodle Soup ($15.50) - the other classic Chinese-Korean dish, this is jjampong, a dish I've had many times. I was the only one to eat it, so ended up being my main dish. It was good, with thick noodles...just wish it had more seafood. Salt & Pepper Smelt ($16.90) - not sure if always available, but this was excellent...my favorite dish and one that I finished once I realized that everybody had their fill. It really depends on the quality of the smelt, which was excellent in this case. It was lightly battered, and carefully deep fried. Other dishes enjoyed by others: 2 Salt & Pepper Prawns - $35.90 - large head-on shell-on prawns fire wokked. Salt & Pepper Tofu ($11.50) - for the vegetarians Chicken Skewers (4) - $8.75 - tender and shareable Walnut Shrimp ($19.90) - mayo with shrimp Young Chow Fried Rice ($12.50) - fried rice is a necessity for our group Mongolian Beef ($17.50) - a classic 2 Sesame Ball (4) - $7 - a great way to finish a meal. 18% tip was automatically added, and service was OK throughout. Our water was kept refilled, and I think hot water was as well. It was a good meal and opportunity to get back together

Both the service and quality of food has gone way down from what they were famous for. The waitress spilled my tea, also dipped her finger in my tea, had no apology or offer to exchange it with a fresh cup. I had to ask her for a fresh cup of tea. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. Sadly, after this experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or come back! I'd rather stick with Yu's Mandarin than drive to this place! Quality always wins over quantity in my books!
