They have a marinated sliced spicy pork that is very good. They are able to turn around to go orders fairly quickly.

Great service with amazing food. I really like the dumplings and soups. Especially the Bento box is suitable that you can try all the food.

My husband and I love exploring cuisines from all around the world, and we've had Central Asian…read morecuisine before, but not Mongolian. This restaurant is in a little strip mall in Morton Grove. The owner is very welcoming and the place is small, but cozier than I expected. I had some worries about Mongolian cuisine, since I only eat fish and vegetarian food. Because of the landlocked country's very cold climate and lack of rivers/lakes -- making produce, rice, and spices very difficult to grow -- this is a cuisine that's all based on meat, animal fats, dairy, and some noodles and dumplings, with some culinary influences from it's neighbors Russia and China. But the owner is very helpful. After giving us tea and golden-fried dough balls as a classic Mongolian welcoming appetizer, she said they could make me one of the Chinese-inspired glass noodle dishes with just vegetables. It was a generous portion, seasoned in a no-frills way with salt and pepper, but very tasty. My husband, who eats meat, had the much more traditional buuz, which are dumplings with meat. He was happy with it. We also got a sauerkraut and carrot side salad with light vinegar, and a Russian-inspired potato salad with carrots, peas, pickles, and mayo that is not vegetarian -- it tasted quite savory and a little smoky, and we think it had some ham in it. And of course we had to try the Mongolian milk tea, which is made with green tea, whole milk, butter, and it's slightly salted (in Mongolia, this would be made with horse milk.) It's an acquired taste, but it fits the cuisine. The whole experience and friendly hospitality of the owner made this a fun dinner for us. Note: although they have "Mongolian beef" on their menu, that is actually NOT a Mongolian dish -- that was an invention by a Taiwanese restaurateur who used the name for marketing purposes.

Greeted by Anna when we walked in on a Wednesday night, this place is as frills and homemade as it gets. She immediately recommended the signature dishes knowing that most people probably have had little exposure to Mongolian food. We ended up ordering the steamed dumplings (Buuz) and the lamb noodle soup. My goodness, it blew us away! Dumplings were clearly handcrafted and steamed to perfection. Just the right wrapper and meat proportion. The lamb noodle soup was generous in meat portion and noodles soft but chewy. Anna will recommend the beef pastry as that's the signature dish of Mongolia, so I intend to try that next time I'm in. If you're looking for something outside of the ordinary and tasty, I would highly recommend coming here!

For some reason, this place is always busy? Like, any day we drive by, the parking lot is packed…read more After a night out, I decided on coming here for Sunday lunch and sure enough, it was full of people. We didn't really have to wait, but there were few open tables. First the good - the hibachi grill option. Many Chinese buffets have this, but this one was pretty good. Lots of protein options, and you should make good use of the little bucket of spices they have at the end of the buffet. I will say I got really jealous when one of the employees busted out a tortilla and started grilling tacos. I wonder if that's a secret option? The bad - the orange chicken. Look I'm a sucker for saccharine sweet American Chinese chicken. Sometimes you find a place that just does General Tso's right, but other times it's oversauced and soggy. But here the orange chicken has a different problem - I don't think there's any chicken in it? I grabbed a bunch of pieces and all of it was just fried batter. Really disappointing. The confusing - why the plastic silverware? Especially when they have normal flatware to grab up at the buffet. Just feels really wasteful for no reason. Everything else is buffet tier food, which means not great but it'll fill you up. An ok option if you're in the area, but there are other buffets closer to me that are comparable enough that I don't know if we'd come back.

The family and I have been coming to this hot pot place for years. Everyone loves hot pot,…read moreespecially during cold weather, and my kids in particular have a huge appetite for it. We usually come here when the cravings hit or to celebrate family occasions. The prices are very reasonable and generally under $30 per person. We were last here about a week ago and it was $28 per adult, while kids were $14 (half-priced). I did notice prices increased by about $1 over the past year, but that's expected. Another thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to dine here. We've come on a Saturday night for dinner without a reservation and were able to walk right in. Most of the time, walk-ins aren't an issue, which is really nice. A while back, they used to have you mark hotpot ingredients on a paper menu and staff would bring them to your table. Over the past couple of years, they've switched to an ingredient bar at the back of the restaurant where you can grab your own noodles, vegetables, seafood, and sauces. There are empty plates, bowls, and saucers available, making it easy to customize your spread. The only items you still need to order verbally are the hot pot meats, which makes the overall experience much more efficient and you can get to cooking quickly! Here's my favorite way to make a dipping sauce for hotpot: garlic + basic soy sauce / house sauce, a pinch of spice sauce + top with a lot of green onions cuttings. And there you have it! The ingredient selection is decent including several types of noodles like udon, glass noodles, and ramen. They have my favorite vegetables like watercress and bok choy as well as some of my favorites proteins: shrimp, mussels, quail eggs, fish cakes, cubes and balls. There is a peanut sauce available at the sauce bar, but I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with food allergies or strict dietary restrictions, as cross-contamination could easily happen with the shared setup. One of our favorite appetizer items -- which is free with the AYCE and not at the ingredient bar -- is the fried buns with condensed milk. They're listed on the menu and are absolutely delicious. We usually order multiple rounds as our kids love them, and so do I. When it comes to drinks, everything is ordered à la carte. They offer soft drinks, alcohol, and smoothies. I ordered a mango and pineapple smoothie for $7, which was quite sizable and very refreshing. You can also order a single-fruit smoothie for $6. For broth options, there are only two choices: a bone broth or a spicy broth. If you have kids, I recommend the non-spicy option. The broth can get a little fatty after cooking all the ingredients in it and is enough for flavor. We came as a family of 6 and opted not to squeeze into one booth. We asked to sit at 2 adjacent hybrid booth tables and requested an additional hot pot for the 2nd table, and they were very accommodating. One of the servers also speaks Cantonese, which was very helpful for our family. One small piece of feedback for the owners: for places like this, it would be great to have disposable gloves available at the ingredient bar. I always appreciate seeing that extra level of consideration for cleanliness. Lastly, just a heads-up that gratuity is automatically added to the check for parties of two or more. Make sure to review your bill before adding an extra tip -- unless, of course, you want to tip more. Overall, this is one of our family's favorite places for hot pot when we want a no-fuss, no-cleanup meal. It's a solid experience that doesn't break the bank, especially for large families. The fact that they focus solely on hot pot -- without additional barbecue meats or grills -- helps keep it surprisingly affordable. The restaurant is also connected to a Mexican bar so your receipt is gonna ring out with that place as a vendor and this restaurant is next to "Noodle Delight" (likely same owners?) if you're looking for authentic Chinese food in a more traditional setting. We've been to that place as well and it was great, but that would be another separate review :)
