There are very few times when I have left a restaurant with plans of an immediate return. After eating, I had tried to make a dinner reservation for my birthday. Unfortunately, when I asked, I was informed that Monet's Table does not serve dinner. The hostess did tell me that they serve an amazing brunch. I will definitely be back to confirm this. My son and I were on vacation from school and work, so we were completing our week of day trips. When my son said that he wanted a BLT, I went to Yelp in search of a new place. Off the beaten path and in the most beautiful location, we found Monet's Table. Like any 10 year old, my son had requested that we eat outside. We were seated at a small garden table surrounded by flowers and bumblebees. There were about 5 tables of families in a small area, but it was still quite quiet and relaxing. The waitress as well as the others who had helped with delivery and cleanup were helpful and friendly. Orders were taken and food was delivered quickly. My son's BLT was served with a small dish of pasta salad. He was very happy with his sandwich but not a huge fan of the salad. It was a little fancier than what he's used to. I had ordered the shrimp skewers over a grain salad with watermelon, mint and feta. The salad complemented the skewers perfectly. Having saved room for dessert we splurged on a key lime crepe and lava cake. Both were delicious. On our way out one of the incredibly nice employees told us about the chickens on the property. She gave us some feed and let us feed the chickens. Pretty soon they will be producing eggs that will be used for the restaurant. I would highly recommend a visit in the warmer months if you enjoy outdoor dining. I hope to be back in a few weeks to experience the indoor dining.

Came here again, still great food at high prices. It's very relaxed and comfortable, and service is relatively quick. Worth a try if you're in the area, good bites but nothing trek worthy

Really loved this place! Ordered a cheddar melt with pear and bacon as well as the chicken vegetable soup. We were convinced for dessert where I got the chocolate cake special and my friend ordered the Russian panna cotta. Both were so delicious! Ambience is cute as it feels like you're in someone's home. Waitress was great, and very quick service. Definitely recommend if you need a unique, fresh ingredient-filled lunch in tolland county!

It was such a delight to have lunch at Monet's Table in Tolland! Their menu is divine, with everything sounding scrumptious for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. They do offer LuAnn's gluten-free bread as a substitute, too. The restaurant is open 11:30am-2:30pm on Wednesdays through Fridays, and Saturdays from 9am-2pm (there's a brunch on Saturdays that I absolutely must try). I love that the location feels very "away from it all" and yet is just a couple minutes from several busy local routes. My friend and I arrived about noon--along with almost a dozen people, mostly retirees, but a couple young families arrived later. Not a worry about overcrowding as there were indoor and outdoor tables to fit everyone. We headed straight to the outdoor seating, and a very polite man took us to a lovely umbrella-covered table in the garden. What a beautiful setting! Gorgeous flowers and hosta, and a little water feature amidst the plants. This was the best outdoor eating experience I've had in a long while. Our server and host were so professional, polite, and welcoming. They were very knowledgeable about Monet's Table and the menus and offerings, specials, and substitutions. Though there were a lot of us descending on the place at once, we were well taken care of! The hardest thing was to decide what to eat, as everything sounded fabulous. My friend got Moroccan Kebabs (she chose tofu over the shrimp option) which came with watermelon, feta, and mint tabbouleh; one of the soup specials; and a slice of their Anadama bread. She also had a little pot of Harney & Sons tea (my fave brand ever). I chose the Vegan Black Bean & Sweet Potato Burger on vegan Andama bread with greens & tomatoes, and a side of chipotle aioli. I also had the ginger lemon unsweetened iced tea, which was very refreshing! My friend raved about her dish and the way the flavors worked well with the tabbouleh. A perfect savory/sweet/tangy combination that I am going to order next time. We both found the toasted Anadama bread to have a very lightly sweet molasses taste. It also paired beautifully with my black bean and sweet potato burger. Soooooo good. All the while, we enjoyed a leisurely conversation, never once feeling rushed along. People arrived, people left, and there seemed to always be a couple tables open at any given time. It was a cooler afternoon than anticipated day, so I'm sure a fair amount of diners chose to eat indoors. Anyway, we had a great time eating great food in great surroundings. We did consider dessert (they all sounded amazing & fresh) but saved that for another visit. Monet's Table is going to be in my top 5 go-to spots through summer! Maybe I'll see you there? Definitely give it a go!

I've driven by this cute place several times. Today, I was invited by my neighbor and friend. We sat outside in a cute gazebo, flowers and plants all around. It's such a beautiful setup. We went inside to take a peek as well. Very inviting and comfortable environment. The menu is short and sweet. Those make the best restaurants, honestly. I had one of the soup specials that was a curried cauliflower soup. It was different and very good, along with a grilled cheese that was perfectly cooked. The bread was crispy yet soft as you bit into it, the cheese gooey and melted nicely, and the tomato and bacon were the perfect compliment. It was also served with a type of cold noodle/macaroni salad that tasted refreshing. My friend ordered the Quiche, a large piece, and she enjoyed it.

Service was great and ambiance! Food was alright for the price though they sure do make it look pretty.

I've been here once before and enjoyed it. This visit was a bit off. We were seated promptly and given water. The next time , meeting our waitress, came quite a bit after. This place is known for its delicious eggs Benedict's. I could not wait to have their traditional! The waitress mentioned that unfortunately anything with hollandaise. That was a bit of a bummer. We ordered drinks and food right away. I had to redirect and ordered an omelet with cheddar, mushrooms and onions It was about 25 min later that we received our drink. Our waitress was also our bartender at a completely packed place. About 45 min later we got our food. Mine was ok. The Bloody Mary was pretty tasty. I know the folks had to leave to get a plane. It showed and she apologized. I'm empathetic to the situation but I think my hopes of the hollandaise I had been dreaming off really made this a 3 star for me.

Cute "homey" feel at Monet's table. Food looked/tasted nice and fresh. Chickens outside which I'm assuming they get eggs from! Portion sizes were pretty spot on. $12 for a breakfast wrap and $7 for home fries with bacon and cheese. Service was a tad slow. For parties of 6 or more a 20% gratuity is included in your check and no check splitting. Would recommend going here

We were looking for a brunch or lunch venue on our drive to Litchfield, CT, and found a 4.5-star Yelp reviewed restaurant called Monet's Table. Monet's Table has limited restaurant hours, as they also have a busy catering business. The restaurant is situated in a 1750 Farmhouse at 167 Tolland Stage Road in Tolland and has all the rustic charm one would hope to find at this type of establishment. It was moderately busy as we arrived close to Noon on a warm Saturday. We were immediately seated and our waitress arrived promptly to explain review the menu. Candidly, it was difficult to choose as they provided so many interesting choices. We finally opted for the Eggs Benedict Thermador and the Eggs Benedict Mignon. The menu says that these dishes are server over toast. However, this is a radical understatement as they provide a thick piece of homemade toast that is light and delicious. My filet mignon was served perfectly medium (pink inside) and was tender and tasty. The Bearnaise sauce was awesome! The thermador was equally delicious with small pieces of lobster, asparagus and a tasty Bechamel sauce. Though these dishes were sufficiently large, I was left wanting more! A quick visit to their website will demonstrate that Monet's Table focuses much more on food presentation than on digital presentation, and I didn't see a restaurant menu on the site (Dear Monet's Table, your copyright says 2007-2017, but your website looks like it was last updated in 2007!). However, there are some photos of the menu on Yelp. I wish we lived closer to this restaurant, as I'd love to be a regular here. I strongly recommend Monet's Table for brunch and lunch lovers. And note that they are not open for dinner.

Wow! We squeezed in here shortly before lunch ended one day on a drive home while re-routed dye to traffic. The host and waitress were so accommodating and lunch was more than expected! The BLT was the best my husband says he has ever eaten and the lunch meatloaf was delicious as well. For the first time ever, we emptied each other's plates because the food was that good! My impression of Monet's table is great (pun fully intended.) Stopped in for the Saturday morning breakfast. My gf went for the eggs Benedict, I chose an omelette with roast beef and gorgonzola cheese. Both were very good. The anadama bread was good, not too heavy or sweet. We also ordered home fries. The décor and music were lovely. Staff is quick and friendly. Portion sizes are a little on the smaller size, if you're used to eating overflowing plates at the average diner. The trade off in quantity is the quality... This is good food, cooked well, served beautifully. And at a reasonable price. A tasty choice in an area fairly empty of places to eat. We shall return. Hosted an afternoon tea event for 30 women here yesterday and it was PHENOMENAL! The food was not only delicious, but the presentation was beautiful as well! The owner/chef definitely knows how to put together delightful combinations, but also has an eye for detail. Amazing!! She was wonderful to work with. Our server, Cassandra, was fantastic also. She was pleasant & efficient, working quietly in the background. Loved her! The atmosphere of this cute old farmhouse seemingly in the middle of nowhere lends itself well to such an event. I can't wait to host another tea social there! Don't miss out on this hidden gem!! read more

I was very disappointed at the food and service. My drink had barely any alcohol in it The special potatoes had very little tiny pieces of eggplant. The worst was the crepe which was filled with whipped cream and you can barely see the tiny pieces of berries. Besides, my husbands meal was as bad as mine. Oatmeal showed up with no nuts or berries in a small bowl. We asked twice for it unti we got it. It's a joke for $60. read more

Lovely place! We were visiting the area, just happened to find it and came here for lunch. Friendly gracious staff greeted us upon arrival and the food was beautifully prepared, fresh and delicious. They serve tea in pretty china teapots and plates and dishes are charming too. Definitely coming back when we can! read more

We arrived at opening time on a weekend day, and had to wait 5 minutes for the door to be unlocked. Nice hostess, very talkative waitress who knew the menu well. Decor is beautiful if you like Shabby Chic/Country/Colonial. Nice artwork on the walls. Me, I'm all about the food, The good "home cooking" food is priced a bit high, although there is great variety. Even Alcohol drinks for Brunch! The famous Mexican Super fries were great, put the portion was small for $7.00. My friend's eggs were overcooked, home fries dry. If I was taking my grandma to lunch, I would bring her here. But not my husband or my boss. read more

I'm not sure why it took me so long to check out Monet's Table, but now that I have I will be back again and again. Food was amazing, everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. From the butternut bisque made with coconut milk, to the warm winter salad and cabbage rolls, you could not go wrong with anything you order off the menu. Consistently great breakfast in a charming atmosphere. This place reminds me of a casual version of the Altnaveigh Inn. Their omelettes are phenomenal and they always have really unique specials at reasonable prices. This is one of the few places I actually GO to breakfast at, because being Gluten Free breakfast can be a pretty sad affair when I know I can make better gluten free treats at home than I get at restaurants. However, this place is the exception to that rule - they have great GF bread and are very accommodating about allergies. Oh, and I love the mismatched plates and fact that almost everyone gets a different cup. Makes me feel like I'm at the Mad Hatter's tea party or something. read more

Several visits here in the last months have all been extremely positive! I'm delighted that they carry local gluten free bread from Nature's Grocer, but wish their gf menu items were marked. Of special note are their soups! I've recently had a pumpkin, kale,lentil soup and a butternut, apple soup that were magnificent! I love the soup and half sandwich option, but wish there were more half sandwich options. The menu is filled with intriguing choices and combinations of foods! Then you hear the daily specials and find it so hard to choose! Yesterday my pumpkin hummus with grilled eggplant, tomato and baby spinach sandwich was so flavorful! Grilled cheese selections are so delicious! Salmon is done well, never dry and always tender and full of flavor. And the teas! The African decaf tea was richly flavored and beautifully served Staff here is so helpful and kind, but never over-attentive. read more

I visited Monet' s Table for lunch with a friend today. We were very excited to learn it had reopened as it is lovely spot with a unique and well prepared menu. I'm looking forward to returning to try their Saturday Brunch which has a great choice of menu options. My friend and I chose the same menu item, something we never do, so I'm afraid I won't be critiquing more than one item but we did each have dessert! We chose the Grilled Pear, Bacon & Cheddar Melt on homemade anadama bread (I asked)! It was served with a small pasta salad. The sandwich was delicious, grilled to perfection with just the right amount of ingredients and a fabulous balance of flavors! The dessert menu changes; we chose a buckle berry cobbler and a white choc pumpkin cheesecake. Both were very good though my friend enjoyed her cobbler a little more than I did my cheesecake which was good. (I myself make a killer pumpkin cheesecake which is hard to beat)! Monet's table is housed in a lovely colonial farmhouse and is a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth a trip from the Hartford area and certainly an excellent choice for a nice lunch close to the UCONN area. There are several working fireplaces and the interior is bright and cheerful. There is an outdoor area that I remember as beautiful in the warmer weather and I look forward to returning and enjoying lunch or brunch on the patio. For the price we paid, we expected to get a lot more. If you plan on getting a plate of breakfast, be aware that it doesn't come with any sides. And even after ordering sides we still felt hungry. Our Benedict breakfast came with only one slice of bread and the lobster Benedict came with 2 small pieces of lobster. read more

Food is good. But be aware SMALL portion. Even my 11yo needs more after her $11 sandwich. Ordered kabob for $15 which came with like 6 pieces of beef. Food also took a long time to arrive. Host is very accommodating. Hens roaming is cute but made it hard to order any chicken dish. read more

On the coldest day of the year I visited Monet's Table for lunch. A fantastic time to visit because my date and I were seated beside a wonderful warm open fire My Portebello mushroom with winter pesto sandwich was delicious as was our lemon puddings dessert This is a very comfortable spot to enjoy a lunch date because of the fire and the tables which are not all crowded in together. Almost feels private Friendly service and everything served in a very stylish manner. Nice little wine selection. Well worth the visit read more

This was a great little restaurant. It's definitely off the beaten path. This old farm house turned into a restaurant has a cozy yet welcoming ambience. We went for their Saturday brunch. I found this place on Yelp, as over the road truck drivers we rent a car find great places for brunch all over the country. So with that being said I was really looking forward to treating ourselves here. The only people was I didn't see that they were closed on Sundays. How can that be. Sunday is a perfect day for mimosas for brunch. Oh well, next time we're in the area we will try it. read more

Great Service! But -- Terrible Food and Terrible Cocktails at Saturday Brunch!!! I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars, one for the excellent wait staff, and one for the location and pretty decorations. The food and drinks were waaay below average. I went a few weeks ago for Saturday brunch with my wife and her friend. Starting with our $10 drinks, they were in the smallest glasses possible!! And, the drinks definitely did not have a full shot of alcohol. My wife's coffee drink had the only lightest splash of Kahlua, she could barely taste it! My wife's friend said her bloody mary was totally lackluster with no spices and only the lightest splash of vodka as well; she could barely taste it. $30 worth of MINISCULE drinks -- NOT WORTH THE $$$. The food was the same way. My wife and her friend ordered omelets, which they both said were overcooked, practically tasteless, with the smallest amount of ingredients possible, and they've had waaay better omelets at hole-in-the-wall diners! Also, the dishes came with two small pieces of bread that weren't even buttered, and NO side of home fries, which most places include for free. As for me, I ordered lobster eggs benedict, which also were terrible. The poached eggs were overcooked and were on two miniscule pieces of bread, with three tiny pieces of lobster, three skinny asparagus stalks and two small tablespoons of the most bland and tasteless Bechamel sauce I've ever had. Also, each of our meals were NOT hot, and only lukewarm when they got to us into the bargain. I'm sorry but smiling, efficient staff and nice decor doesn't make up for the blandest tasting, smallest portions of expensive food and smallest expensive drinks possible. This restaurant has got to vastly improve the quality and taste and increase the quantity of its Saturday brunch food if it's going to continue to charge the high prices that it does. read more

Comfort and beauty is all I felt the moment I walked into this 1750's farmhouse to meet a friend for Saturday brunch. The sparkling clean antique charm is captured perfectly in this home turned restaurant. The food had the flair and was quite unexpected. I had a perfect and delicious omelette; inside was caramelized apple, asparagus ham and brie. I would have never expected this combination and it was stunning. I loved my pot of loose herbal tea that I strained over the charmingly mismatched china. I wish this place was closer to my home and I would be a regular. read more

Beautiful and quaint. Probably one of my favorite places to go. Everyone is informed and friendly. Garden was beautiful and the flowers on the table are fresh picked. We went for my daughters birthday and she was very happy with the amount of vegetarian and vegan selections. We had salads and bought a loaf of bread to take home. And of course dessert. All in all a perfect meal. read more

There is always a cozy homey feeling when we come in for lunch at Monets Table. The ladies seat us with a smile and it is always fun to hear the specials they have available. I have to say my favorite is the warm dressing spinach salad. It is easy to make dairy free by leaving off the feta and the nuts are large and are the perfect addition! My mother in law likes it because it is not loud and she can hear when we are talking. The hot tea comes with a little teapot and differing cute teacups. I would recommend to anyone to try lunch here! read more

I was here a very long time ago. From the other two reviews, I can tell it hasn't changed. Monet's Table is in the middle of nowhere. It's a big beautiful house with a garden (and some sweet cats milling about). When you go inside it's like having dinner at home, except a much nicer home (nicer than mine at least). There are several intimate tables set up on the first floor of this beautifully decorated house. The food is excellent. I can't remember everything I have had there because it was so long ago, but I know that I was pleased with everything I've ordered there. It is a unique and wonderful place to go and dine. I highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Stopped here for breakfast/brunch on the way to the White Mountains from NYC and it was perfect. The setting is beautiful. You pass a farm on the way from the highway (only a few minutes drive) and the property has a nice yard with outdoor seating. The restaurant is in a nice house and the food smelled amazing when we walked inside. Everything we ordered was high quality ingredients and well executed. I especially liked the house baked bread that came with the eggs. Home fries cost extra and overall it's pricier than your standard diner, but in this case you are getting what you pay for and in my opinion it's worth it. read more

Yelp led us to this charming, lovely farmhouse restaurant on our way from Boston to NYC. I just had the most delicious turkey, avocado, cheddar sandwich EVER along with a very tasty pecan rice salad. My particular and vegetarian husband thoroughly enjoyed his oatmeal and beet burger and raved about the coffee. Efficient and friendly service. Reasonable prices and a calm, welcoming setting. Can't wait until our next trip so we can come back. read more

Wow! If you are travelling between Boston and points South and have time for a 30 minute lunch, this is the place! From the minute you see the relaxing gardens until you are wished well by the attentive staff you understand why this gem is called Monet's Table. We told the staff that we were in a bit of a hurry and they were very accommodating - you could see most people were lingering over a leisurely lunch - my husband had the crab cakes and I had a BLT on homemade bread - truly fabulous with a wonderful pasta salad side - but there were also soups, salads, other sandwiches and entrees to explore. This farm to table spot with fresh grown herbs makes your trip an adventure, not just a drive to get through! A true YELP find! read more

The grilled bacon, cheese, tomato and carmelized onion Super melt is a great sandwich. Their Back to Basics and Sandwich fare is impressive and hearty. Terrific for sit in or take out. It's a keeper. read more

Right near my house but I tend to stay away because of the cost. I only go there if I have a friend visiting me. Food is ok - Nice garden outside and the "atmosphere" is neat. Chairs are a little uncomfortable inside. Quaint. Food is good but a tad costly. You will not leave with a doggie bag. read more

I hosted a baby shower at Monet's Table last weekend & it was a hugh success! I chose the 'tea party' theme and the place was set up & decorated appropriately. I really had very little need to do any further decorating at all, as they really did it all. They were very accommodating for what I wanted and Lisa was extremely helpful that day in helping me set up and offering good suggestions during the planning process prior to that, since she had a lot more experience with this than I did. The food was excellent & all the guests were impressed. I had one guest who eats gluten free only & they were excellent about making sure she had a great meal as well. I would highly recommend this as a great venue for an event! Thanks to all, especially Lisa! read more

We just had our small private wedding at Monet's table. It is a great warm inviting house to have your intimate gathering at. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and accommodating to all our needs. The food we chose was delicious and well prepared. Everything they served had great taste and presentation. Our guests all had nice comments about the menu and service. I would recommend you dining or having your small event there. Deb the owner was a breeze to work with and gave us many options and suggestions. read more

Monet's Table is exactly what this area needed - you'll love the eclectic menu consisting of fresh, great-tasting food at reasonable prices. I've just visited for the first time for Saturday brunch, and tried two very different dishes - the Egg Sandwich with bacon and the French Toast stuffed with white chocolate, raspberry, and cream cheese in a maple wildberry sauce. The Egg Sandwich was cooked perfectly; simply put, it was far superior to a typical Egg Sandwich that you'd get at other places. As far as the French Toast...just look at the ingredients...how can that not be delicious? I would have preferred to pay with Credit Card; however, since ~95% of the menu items are $10 or less, paying with cash isn't much of an issue (they also have an ATM onsite). I'd also like to see the place open for dinner, but until then, I'll take what I can get! I look forward to trying out the lunch menu very soon. read more

What a gem Monet's Table is! It's set in a farmhouse built in the 1750s with a beautiful garden of flowers & herbs. Inside is an enormous fireplace and separate dining areas with charming artwork from local artists. I had the crabcake sandwich which was an open faced sandwich with homemade bread which was delicious. The bread was so good I bought a loaf to bring home (it was still warm from the oven!) Everything is made from scratch with quality ingredients. It feels like a great treat to dine here but the prices are very reasonable. Service is very friendly and attentive. In fact I was waiting outside in the gazebo for my brunch date and one of the waitstaff came outside to check on me & to see if I wanted to eat outside. I can't wait to go there again! read more

Bread is really good. Crusty but soft and was warm. Had to cut it myself but they gave me a steak knife which worked for the job. The beef was flavored well but the jus was over seasoned with salt. It mellowed out when treated like a French dip, but still a little too salty on its own. There was about 6 small strips of steak, with some tomatoes and onions also in the mix to help bulk out the sandwich. The tamale was massive, masa was spiced well. Chicken was pulles in long strings which led to uneven bites of chicken and masa. Price was good for the sandwich but not the tamale. 13 for the sandwich is reasonable but would want the option for some fries or something to bulk it out. The tamale at 8 was too pricy for what you get. Not a bad tamale, but would rather pay 4 and get half than pay for a big one. Least then I can try both protein options and pick a winner. They are improving, and the efforts are noted. New menus and new servers make for a better experience. There's still some tweaks to be made, but it's a good place to try if you're feeling adventurous

This is very much the place you go to when you're going to work and you want a quick bite to eat, and so long as you come in looking for that type of food then it works. The breakfast sandwiches were good enough. Eggs were cooked hard, white american cheese was melty and cheesy, roll was fresh, and the meats were cooked. There wasn't anything special about these sandwiches, but they were good for what they were. If you need a meal and want a basic sandwich, this place is more than capable of handling that type of request. The prices are actually pretty good, the portion is reasonable, and it's not bad. Don't expect awesome, but functional fare.

Opted for their fruit juice mocktail and the jammin burger with loaded fries. Food and drink came out quick, so I took my pics and dug in. The mocktail was pretty much orange and pineapple juice with a fruit garnish. It was fine for what you got, and the price was reasonable at 4 bucks. Nothing special, but something to sip on if you're with company. The burger was executed flawlessly. Cooked well, not seasoned but done so with intention. The buttered bun and jam were salty to begin with, so they chose to unseason the burger, relying on the condiments to balance the dish out. The chef has skill, and you can tell it by their preparation. The trouble was the quality of the ingredients. The burger is straight ground meat, pressed to a patty and frozen. The chef did what they could to gussy up the burger, but was working with ingredients they could not control. When they had control in the ingredients and preparation, they put in care. The actual burger patty was very much the biggest detriment to the dish. The fries were good, cheap cheese and bagged fries but ample amounts of toppings and cooked perfectly. Good, but there's evidence that there could be something better. As a chain location tied to a bowling alley, it's perfectly fine pub bites. The servers are nice, but I feel that the chef is constrained. If given the opportunity, the chef could produce some magic on the plates. but they are stuck to the playbook, the source ingredients and the margins they need to stay in. That cheapens the food to cookie cutter molds and is a crying shame. The foods acceptable, the staff is good, and the venue is clean. One day I hope they can shed the chain and let the chef take the wheel. till then though, it's okay

Nachos lacked enough topping - it was like 80% chips... you can't skimp on the cheese... or the meat. Fries weren't that crispy... wings were decent but definitely not enough blue cheese for a double order (should have brought 2 or 3, not just 1). Would like to come back here if the food can match the rest of the venue.
