So far I have only been here one time. I came with only about 5 minutes notice and was accommodated right away. It's a small salon (which I love) , a little old school with design but it felt calm to me- which is a huge plus. I have very limited time to myself most days so I explained to my tech that I was unsure what type of nail (powder, gel, regular mani) to do. She assured me that my nails would take about 45 minutes and she was not only punctual.. my nails are the perfect thickness, shape, and after a few days already, I have no chipping or lifting. I've been a patron of this wonderful establishment for the last 15 years. Recently, I put a set of extentions on after 10 years without nails. I always bring an inspiration picture because I don't know much about nails and their designs. Today, I brought in 2 pictures I was torn between. We finally decided on these. They made sure it was going to be absolutely gorgeous. They searched for the right colors and tested out the designs on their own nails. All the while, I was receiving the most amazing back massage if ever had. 10 minutes for $10. Finally, it was time for the design. I could tell she was a little worried. After a few attempts...it all clicked, and we were flying. I am so happy with the result. I knew the whole time she would be able to exceed my expectations. I am always so happy with my nails when I leave. The staff is super friendly and patient. 10 out of 10, would recommend. read more

I just had THE BEST pedicure I've ever had. Patricia did an incredible job - meticulous, gentle, great massage, just amazing. The full pedicure took about 45 minutes but my feet have never been cleaner, neater or more polished (pun intended). I would recommend her to everyone. I have been going to Mona's for 5 years. After two, my mom stopped going because the smart gel damaged her nails. I thought Sandy did such an amazing job that I wouldn't have my nails done anywhere else. The gel was fantastic and almost always lasted the full three weeks. However, service should not be sacrificed just because of a nice job. Sandy knows she's good, and that people can't get smart gel anywhere else, so she always double books- sometimes triple books. Be prepared to wait almost a half hour after your appointment time to be served. Also be prepared to be surrounded by whiney women and their noisy children (though that is the case with many nail salons). Today I also discovered that Sandy sometimes changes the prices. For 5 years I have paid $45 for a smart gel set. Today she randomly charged me $65 because I got a "new set". In five years, I have gotten countless new sets, and have ALWAYS paid $45. I asked if the prices had changed for New Year - which would have been a valid reason, and she said no, it's always been this way. But it has not always been this way. It's very disheartening that Sandy has chosen to randomly change the price on an extremely loyal customer and I made it clear that I was disappointed and never coming back. If you want lovely nails, I recommend it. But be prepared to pay the price, literally and figuratively. read more

Best, long lasting gel manicure I have ever had. I had been going to another salon and my nails were damaged by using gel for so long. A friend convinced me to try the gel manicure at Mona's. Let me start by saying I have been going to Monas nails for over 10 years. I loved Sandy and John and Susan and then Grace came on board and Mark. Once Sandy and John left to start your own salon in Massapequa I started to use Marc who was great at first, then I started to notice my nails were uneven and my cuticles would be bleeding I switched to Grace who was fantastic I used Susan for the massages and my pedicures. Today again I had Mark and he was miserable and acted as if he did not want to do my nails and again I left the salon with my cuticles cut and my nails un even I don't know what happened to him he just seems very unhappy in the last few times I've been there he's yelled at the employees and he's not very nice to the customers. I'm sorry to say that after 10 years I along with my daughter will no longer be going to Mona"s. read more

I've been here a few times and it's really been hit-or-miss every time. The only good pedicure that I've had was from the older gentleman. In my opinion the women don't do a good job. The kicker is they charge an extra $5 to do a pedicure for a guy. I went with a female friend of mine and It's quite frustrating to pay $5 more when I had a shorter service, didn't use nail polish and didn't wear home those disposal flip flops. $15 for her $20 for me....sorry Mona never again read more

I'm a clean freak when it comes to nail salons and this wasn't to my expectations. The tools and work stations didn't look clean and because of that I skipped the pedicure. That being said I originally came here because a friend gets her tips done here and they always look great. I had them done by a really nice man named Mark, who even though I made an appointment with for 11, he didn't actually start on me until about 11:45. The owner started on my tips because Mark was starting a set of tips as I got there, which I thought was ridiculous being that I had an 11:00. They had a very small selection of usable gel colors to choose from. When he finally did start, they tried to juggle me again in the middle of this to get my pedicure so he could start on someone else, and they all seemed really upset when I told them I didn't have time. It was also very expensive for the service I received. I'm disappointed because the tech definitely did a good job on my tips but I left feeling pretty irritated with my experience as a whole. Went in for a pedicure and manicure. I wanted a reg pedi with 10min massage, was pushed so hard into a European spa pedicure I finally gave in despite having a reg pedi budget that day. The massage hurt and was ten minutes long. Would have been more in my budget to just get reg pedi with ten min massage but I guess that's my fault for giving in. (It was uncomfortable after ten minutes of being talked into it) then the manicure from hell where layers and layers of my natural nail was buffed and buzzed away with something typically used for acrylic nails. They used this electric tool to chip away a powder manicure where every other salon I've been to simply soaks your nails and then gently scrapes it away. The heat from the tool hurt and I asked them to soak them instead which they did but then used the tool again and by then I just felt defeated and allowed it to go on. My nails haven't stopped breaking since. And I've always had strong nails. All that after they tried talking me into a $45 gel manicure, which I stood my ground on because I'm about to give birth and don't want anything that requires upkeep. Will not be returning. I've been getting my nails done for 20years and this was the worst experience I've had at a salon. I'm 9 months pregnant and I think they should have let me get the reg pedi I walked in requesting and left me alone. read more
