Monarch Tree Service did an outstanding job trimming my crepe myrtles and a large tree in the back yard, plus pruning a fig tree that never fully recovered from the big freeze a couple of years ago. James and his team were punctual, helpful and knowledgeable, clearing up as they went. Pricing was competitive and estimating accurate. Neighbors and friends had highly recommended this tree service and it was even better than expected. read more

We used Monarch for our last tree service and they did a great job. So with that said it was a no brainer to call James and have him come out agian. James is very personable and pays attention to detail. I would highly recommend Monarch Tree Service. read more

Our tree split a couple hours after a storm, and Monarch Tree Service was the quickest and most professional to respond to our request for an estimate. We definitely wanted to resolve the mess ASAP, and James and his team communicated well with us, were perfectly on time, and worked very efficiently. James also enlightened us with some facts about our other trees, which was a nice little bonus to the good service. Would definitely recommend these guys! read more

I had James with Monarch come out to scope a large job. I needed almost 30 trees/brush removed to accommodate an upcoming pool plan. A handful of these trees were very large while another handful were down in a canyon. James came by on a Sunday, carefully counted and inspected every tree and provided a quote on site. I found the quote to be very fair. Two other vendors came by the following two days, they didn't spend the time to inspect the trees and just spit-balled quotes that were considerably higher than James'. One more desperate sales person said they'd beat the lower price by 20%, but when I told them James' price, he walked that back and said he'd lose money and could only do it for 5% less. Given he hadn't even spent much time looking at the trees, I opted to accept James' quote. Throughout the first consult, James was a true professional! James came on site with a large crew, and the job took three days, although weather and another job caused some unexpected delays, but James always called and kept me up to date on their schedules, and he always came back and finished the job without any suffering of quality. Everyone on his team was extremely polite, and they worked efficiently in 105 degree weather. They did a great job of cleaning up brush, branches, etc. The site was left very clean. Finally, I asked James to knock out a couple other small tasks not on the original quote and he obliged. I'm amazed at the work, and it was all at a very fair price. I believe it took longer than expected and there was more brush removed than perhaps anticipated, but James never hustled me for money, something contractors frequently do. I've had a lot of tree work done in the past, and my experience with James and Monarch was first class all the way. read more

James and his crew did an outstanding job removing a large (16" diameter) red oak from our backyard. There were several obstacles they had to maneuver around (garden / plants / fence / house) and didn't disrupt anything. This was a very large 20 year old tree that had suffered a shock and died. If we decide to plant again we'll call James. read more

Monarch was fantastic! Came out for a free quote and listened to what we wanted but also gave us his professional opinion on what should be done. Very reasonably priced! They trimmed back the canopy between our neighbors house and ours. Cleaned up the over hang in our back yard, trimmed the pecan tree out front. Even cut back a tree in the back yard just enough to help out my roses I planted! We will definetly use them again! read more

Josh & team came out and did a bang up job on my overgrown live oak. Best quote I received & seamless logistics. Thanks!

Fantastic service. Monarch trimmed our sad ash tree. James's crew cleaned up some torn limbs and did a roofline trim. He also took out some hackberries. Left the yard clean. James was super easy to work with and didn't overcharge. I had another quote for the same work but double the price. He even took care of my neighbors tree when he was through. Would totally recommend. He is now my go-to arborist. read more

Highly responsive, easy to work with, fairly priced, deliver good work safely. Not sure what else you'd be looking for when hiring an arborist. Would hire again. read more

Excellent customer service, prompt, friendly, professional, and awesome. We had this tree that was like 30 ft tall and the dude goes up there with a tiny chainsaw and goes to town like he's in Cirque du soileil. It was the most exciting thing that has happened all Quarantine so me and my wife and our two dogs were all looking out the window in wonder. The dude made sure every single large branch missed the roof of my shed. What a PRO. Thinking about growing another large tree so I can have them out again just for the show. read more

Professional, prompt, budget-friendly, and super helpful. Will use Monarch every time!

My trees around my home were a bit out of control needing trimming and one was touching my roof making some damage. I contacted James and he responded pretty quick and came over the next day to provide a quote. We walked through my front & back yard pointing out what I needed while providing his recommendations. He was very professional and gave me a written quote within 10 minutes. We scheduled the job and him & his crew did an amazing job in a few hours! I definitely will hire them again and recommend. read more

Quick service done as requested at very reasonable price. Wore a mask as well. Came out and walked through what they were going to cut and even cut my mountain laurel free of charge. Would recommend. read more

I had a very old, very large, very tall, dying Hackberry that needed removal. The fact that it straddled a 6ft. privacy fence-with half the tree hanging over the neighboring yard-only made the job more difficult. I contacted Monarch and James immediately replied. We set up an appointment that afternoon. He arrived on time, give me a fair estimate and we scheduled the removal. A day before the appointment, they confirmed the time they would be arriving the next day. On the day of the removal, his team arrived on time, assessed the job and got to work. It took them 4 1/2 hours to cut down and remove the tree. In addition to removing the brush, they cut and stacked approximately 2 cords of useable wood. I also took advantage of the stump grinding service. It took about 45 minutes to grind down a very large hardwood stump. Within 30 minutes of finishing the grinding, my yard was clean and all trace of the tree was gone (except the firewood). It took Monarch, James and the "Big Guns" about 6 hours to complete the job. We were very happy with the quality of their work and we will hire them again in the future! read more

James was great! He came did an assessment and provided me with some options since me tree was on top of my pool. I was concerned since I had a kids fence. They were very careful and left anything clean. Highly recommend them and will uses them again! read more

These guys are awesome! Had them out in June for a 30+ year old hackberry that had long ago split in a couple of places and was literally being held together by several thick chains! They took it down, cut and stacked the wood we were keeping, and hauled off the rest. I happily watched the "gun show" all day and will definitely do it again! read more

It was a great experience. Monarch was on time and professional. There were checkpoints during the trimming process to adjust how much was trimmed. The trees look beautiful! Thank you Monarch team. read more

I'm so impressed with the work they did! First of all communication and quote was super quick and everything done through text and email which as a mom of two small children was greatly appreciated. We worked with a different team before but the tree we needed trimmed was too tall and large for their equipment so we looked for a different one and through google found Monarch. Their pricing was super reasonable and the job they did was absolutely fantastic. The tree had a lot of freeze and storm damage and like I said before a huge project but they completed it in a few hours. Again, super impressed and will 100% use again! read more

Our experience with Monarch was excellent. James was courteous, very professional, and he clearly explained what he was going to do and the price. We had several areas and trees that needed work including two massive and very old pecans. His crew did a fantastic job. I can't stress how pleasant an experience it was. When they were finished, James walked the property with us to make sure we were satisfied. Needless to say we were more than satisfied. There is no doubt I would strongly recommend James and his team for anyone looking for Tree service. His crew went above and beyond! read more

When this company says " a cut above " they really mean it. So due to the storm I lost a tree in my yard. This was Friday night and on Saturday morning I started to call companies who do "tree service ". You know what......either they were closed on the weekend or the answering service said they would get back to me .......never happened ; However , I kept trying until I got James on a SATURDAY ( maybe the only guy working that day ) .He came right over understood the issue but his crew was in San Antonio working . He and his crew showed up on SUNDAY ! (who does that ?) .No overtime , no extra charges just get the job done AND they cleaned up more than just the tree. They moved all of my wife's plants. New trees to plant ? Guess who gets all of my business ....the guys who are willing to service the customer when he needs . Use Monarch and be glad you did ! read more

I wish there were more stars to give James and his crew! I was very pleased with his customer service and communication skills. We had to have an old, very large, Arizona Ash removed from our front yard. James was here the whole day supervising the crew and assisting them with the take down. I asked for some firewood to be cut and I had some other requests so I could use some of the tree limbs and branches in some projects. James was super willing to provide me with my list. He kept me informed about the status of the city permit and scheduling the job due to weather. Clean up was excellent. I highly recommend James and his crew. He provides a high quality, professional service. read more

James and his crew are great. They will be the first people I call for any future work and I will happily recommend them to anyone in need of tree services. James came out same day to give an estimate, didn't rush in talking me through answers to my questions and provided a fair estimate. Later he met me at two local tree nurseries so that we could pick out the individual trees we wanted. On the work day they showed up when they said they would, were careful not to do any damage to the yard or neighbor's cars, and worked quickly and efficiently to finish the job in just one day when I had initially thought it might take two. They were very kind positioning the new trees in different locations before digging so my wife and I could make a decision on placement. They cleaned up after they were done so the yard looks even better than when they arrived. Payment was easy, communication throughout was great. We're very happy with the results. James runs an awesome business. read more

Due to the 2023 ice storm I had a huge and tough problem with a large, badly damaged hackberry needing removal, and multiple smaller limbs down throughout my property. When I was getting ghosted by most I contacted, who just seemed overwhelmed, Jeff was quick and responsive getting me an estimate, and James and Leon's crew did a fantastic job - I'd categorize it as "above and beyond". They were the only ones I contacted who seemed to appreciate this was a hazard situation, and they got me scheduled quickly. This slipped a couple of days, but given weather conditions and the volume of heavy, emergency work needed in Austin following the storm, I find that understandable. There was no escaping this would be an expensive job, and I got estimates from both iffy low-ballers and obvious gougers. Monarch was well towards the lower end, and they are up-front with their credentials (insurance, arbory certs, etc.). There was one minor, incidental property damage SNAFU, which didn't surprise me given the scale of the project, and James was quick to remedy it same-day himself (a nice guy, too). Definitely would recommend and use again. read more

We had Monarch out to remove 4 cedar trees in our back yard near our pool and pool fence. They were not only on time, they were early to show up, with a large crew, including one man who literally climbed up into each tree with a chainsaw to cut them from the top-down. They efficiently removed all 4 trees, taking extreme care to not impact our pool or fence. They cleaned up after they were done and were very reasonable regarding price. We would use again if needed and recommend James and his team to anyone looking for tree removal services. read more
