The space is warm and welcoming with plenty of seating, and the staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, which always makes a difference especially with kids. Very kid-friendly spot. We ordered the fried okra, which was surprisingly unique and absolutely delicious. Perfectly fried with a savory flavor and just a touch of sweetness definitely a standout. For mains, we had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were creamy, rich, and full of flavor, and the white rice was cooked perfectly. We also tried the naan bread, including the onion naan, which was generously stuffed and packed with flavor. To drink, we had a mango lassi and fresh lemonade, both refreshing and a great pairing with the meal. Overall, we were really impressed and truly enjoyed our experience. I just had hands down the best dining experience ever. We went in for my little brothers birthday, and to be honest I have never been one to love indian food. Officially after tonight, I love indian food. We started off with the samosas and the cauliflower thing( both absolutely 10/10) the tres leches was also to live for! The owners, chef, and everyone was so kind and friendly, treating us like we were family, and the food was hands down the best thing I have had in ages. It's a great family friendly dining experience and has a very comfortable feel. They even brought out my little brother a nice cake and all came out to sing happy birthday. I went to Monalessa's Kitchen and I was very happy with this experience. I love Indian food and could not wait to try the restaurant especially seeing it is close to where I live. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. We shared an appetizer of Samosas, Onion Naan and then we split the Chicken Tikka Masala & Tandoori Chicken entrees to try a variety of items. Everything was very tasty but for me the entrees could have been a little more spicy. While the flavor was very good, the spicy level was very mild. Next time I will ask for hot and not medium like I do elsewhere. I enjoyed my leftover just as much the next day. I will definitely be going back when I want Indian food. read more

It was substantial enough for two, and was sweet and mildly spicy. For her meal, G ordered Dal Makhani... black lentils and kidney beans in a tomato-onion sauce. G ordered it hot and it was HOT! Great place for Desi food in Fall River! I stopped by for lunch and tried the Lamb Rogan Josh -- it was freshly prepared with authentic flavors and just the right level of spice. The naan was soft, fluffy, and delicious. Overall, I had a really good experience and I'm glad to have this spot in the area. Tried this place based on their Yelp reviews. Wasn't disappointed. I got the lamb biryani. The spice level was perfect, very tasty with a generous amount of lamb. . My son got salmon tikka masala, which he loved and my wife got some naan and the tomato soup-m which she enjoyed. The only disappointment was the cauliflower appetizer. I came here for a late lunch recently with some friends and couldn't recommend this place more. We were served by a waiter and possibly the owner/manager, who was the sweetest guy ever! We had spiced chai (both hot and cold, delicious), mango lassi (also highly recommend) and an assortment of various dishes. Everything we had was fantastic - especially the garlic naan. My only gripe was that we ordered medium spicy for most things but nothing we had felt spicy really at all! Went with my partner and got the Samosas as an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious. I got the Chicken Biryani at medium-hot spice level and loved every bite of it, it's tangy and warm and spicy and just perfect. My partner got the Curry Chicken Special and asked for medium heat, and felt like she wants hotter next time, so if that gives you a reference for what spice level to expect I hope that helps. They will cater the spice level to whatever you ask for! Both meals were really juicy and flavorful with tender and moist chicken. We both got garlic naan with our entrees and it's some of the best naan I've had! I also tried the Lassi drink which I had never tried anywhere before but it was so delicious and was so smooth and silky, I'll definitely be getting that from now on too. We have been waiting for Monalessa's to open! Happy to see the parking lot full and all the tables full! The chicken malai kebab, chicken tikka, barrah kebab and fish tikka were delicious and flavorful! Fresh and presented beautifully. You get a taste of each on the combination platter which I would highly recommend! The Khandari naan was fresh and had just the right mix of sweet and savory. Garlic naan also excellent! I don't know what mitzvah I performed to deserve such a great place so near to me. We used to go to the BBQ joint that was at this location, and the decor was bare minimum. The new owners have spruced it up simply and tastefully. Our server was attentive and charming without being intrusive, and he was conscientious about checking allergens. He actually kept apologizing because their usual server wasn't there. We never would have thought we had anything but the A team. It's on the pricey side, but we brought home enough leftovers for at least two more meals. The bhindi masala (okra) and lamb saag were spot on. In some places a chicken yellow curry is almost an afterthought, but their chicken Chettinad had a surprisingly lovely balance of seasonings. If I hadn't been so stuffed, I probably would have gone through all the naan (warm & fluffy) and puri (comically inflated and perfect texture) just dunking them in that gravy. Despite having already eaten more than I should have, I ordered the rice pudding. Their version was relatively light (in a good way) and the flavors were subtle (also in a good way). This might throw you off if you're expecting the dense European version, but this would be great on a hot summer day. Speaking of which... if I ask nicely, could we get some kulfi when the weather warms up? I don't usually leave detailed reviews, but we really want this restaurant to flourish. We live right between Providence RI and Fall River in the boonies but love a good Indian meal from time to time. We were excited to learn of a new Indian restaurant in Fall River to try. We usually get take out from the popular Indian places in Providence that get really good reviews. I would say the food we got here was better than any of those PVD places. We ordered lamb korma that had fantastic flavors and very tender lamb. The chicken Makhani was rich and flavorful and the chicken was tender - oh that sauce -to die for!!. I asked if they could make a saag paneer as it was not on the menu and they had no problem making it, and it was also amazingly delicious. We ordered medium spice and definitely not too spicy. I would say their medium is more like a 4/10 on the spice scale. Their naan is thin and tasty and the rice came in to-go containers separately from the meal so it didn't get soggy. It is hard to find good Indian food in th US. We cook it often, using best ingredients, grind and roast spices, etc. Few restaurants really make the effort. This place was excellent, easily best in RI, southern MA. Portions are not large, and it is pricey for Fall River.
