Premier Endodontics…read more Ok, I usually only write reviews for restaurants so this is new to me. And this may be as important as your next meal in the North End or the Seaport! Like many (or most?) I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist or endodontist! I've had my share of visits and it's never as bad as you're expecting but it's not something you look forward to or look back on fondly..and you all know what I mean! Well, Premier Endodontics at 271 Waverly Oaks Road in Waltham, MA has changed that. From the easy check in with Henry, seamless connection and billing of insurance and any out of pocket expenses, to the explanation of their procedure. I had a short wait and was greeted by Dr Jones' dental assistant, Sabrina. Also, the office and their equipment and stuff seem very modern and the office was impeccably clean and comfortable. Sabrina greeted me and brought me to a room and explained what they would be doing and started with x rays. Shortly after the x-rays I was greeted by Doctor Jones who could not be more personable and professional! She explained what they would be doing to fix my cracked tooth. I needed a root canal and a temporary filling, then a second appointment for the permanent filling, and finally I would go back to my dentist who would install a crown. She also explained that they would first numb my mouth to desensitize it before administering "anesthesia" which I'm guessing was Novocain? When it was time to inject she was obviously more skilled than the last person I had seen years ago..I barely felt a thing! Not sure if technology has progressed but it numbed me up quickly and I didn't feel a thing!! All the drilling, grinding, hands, tools, and suction tube and not a bit of pain or even discomfort!! It is clear that Doctor Jones and her assistant worked extremely well together. They communicated and executed the procedure like clockwork and even played some decent music while they went about their business. (I'd recommend Yacht Rock or Classic Rock as opposed to Metallica or Snoop Dogg!) Disclaimer: They both sing while working and neither of them will ever be a contestant on American Idol! . However...it was very soothing and kind of reassuring of their confidence in what was clearly a routine procedure for them, but can be a bit daunting for 99% of us who cringe when we hear the words ROOT CANAL!! I returned for the second appointment to have the permanent filling installed and it went just as well as the first. The entire staff were so professional and seem like family to each other, which was very welcoming and reassuring to someone who doesn't go to the "dentist" much! I cannot say enough about how positive my experience was with Premier Endodontics and highly recommend them!! Thank you Doctor Jones, Sabrina, and Henry!!

I had a root canal yesterday with Dr. Henriquez. She's top notch. Competent, caring, kind, and very clear in her explanations. Highly recommend this practice!

In addition, I went in for a revision of a root canal and noticed that both him and his staff are extremely professional, kind, and informed. His office is extremely tidy, well kept, and COVID-19 practices are highly enforced and taken into account. The office is full of air filters to protect patients (since dental procedures involve having your mouth open). To add on, his staff is also warm, professional, and attentive. In addition, I genuinely thought the pricing for my procedure was extremely fair and was more than happy to pay. Would HIGHLY recommend to everyone!

Dr. David Singer is the best endodontist I have ever had when it comes to getting me properly numb…read more I have a delayed onset of local anesthesia, and in the past that has made procedures difficult because dentists have assumed that I was numb before I actually was. Even when I tell them that they have to give a shot, go have coffee, come back and then give more, they often do not. They give one shot, wait then dive in, this has created my anxiety around dental procedures. Dr. Singer really listened to me. He gave the anesthetic plenty of time to work, checked the area carefully before starting, and never rushed me. I cannot overstate how much that mattered. The root canal itself went extremely well. Dr. Singer was cheerful, skilled, and reassuring, as was his assistant Denise, and everyone in the office was kind and friendly. I also appreciated that there were no financial surprises. They told me ahead of time that my portion would be, and that was exactly what I paid. After a few less-than-wonderful (HORRIBLE) dental experiences elsewhere, Boston Endodontics was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended, especially if you have issues with getting numb.

I learned first-hand what apico means --twice!…read more After several novacaines, I endured forty-five minutes of cutting my gums, drilling, vibrations, picking-and-poking, pulling-and-tugging, and sewing me up on each of two teeth. As I write this review, it sounds frightening, even to me. But then what explains why I fell asleep during the second procedure? It's simple -- Dr Timothy Gabe, and his friendly and compassionate, professional and competent team worked seamlessly together to make sure that I was always comfortable. From my first visit to my last, it has been an extraordinarily rewarding experience. I hope no one else needs an apico, but if you do, I enthusiastically recommend Dr Gabe to you.

Good dentist, but hold on to your wallet! I was quoted over the phone $90 to re-cement a crown…read more When I checked out, the bill was $145, inc. $75 for a "Limited oral evaluation" (which meant he poked around in my mouth for 90 seconds before putting the crown back in). Now, doesn't he always do that when re-cementing a crown? So why wasn't I just quoted that price? On the way out, I was also quoted a price of $319 for a cleaning (!?). This included the "full mouth x-rays", which I was told are MANDATORY. For anyone who doesn't know, this are x-rays of EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TOOTH, not the "bite wing" x-rays that most dentists give. For anyone who doesn't know, almost no one needs x-rays of EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TOOTH, unless there's something going horribly wrong in your entire mouth, but I know there are some dentists out there who try to force it on people. Oh, & he'd already told me that my teeth looked fine (which I pretty much knew, being obsessive about home dental care), so why should I be forced to have x-rays of EVERY SINGLE TOOTH??? Sorry if I'm ranting, but $319 for a cleaning?? That includes stuff you don't need, or want? And you don't have a choice????!

I listen to the voice mail 4 times and ask colleagues to interpret the 'mumble mumble' but to no avail. I call Shannon back saying I'm calling to verify this 3 pm appointment. Me: Hi just calling to verify this appointment is at 3 and not at 2? Shannon: No it's at 3 pm. Me: Are you sure, b/c my calendar says 2 and e-mail says 2, but you're saying 3. Shannon: No it's 3, that's strange. I don't know why the system is doing that. Me: What is this appointment at 3:30 for again, I don't remember. Shannon: Oh that's for *mumble mumble*. Me: Excuse me? Shannon: Hold. (time passes) Shannon: Disregard that, you're set for 3 tomorrow. Me: You sure about that? Shannon: Yep. Me: Ok... So it's Wednesday and the phone rings at 2:22. Me: Hello? Woman: Hi this is ___ from Dr. Haddar's office you had an appointment today at 2. (I don't remember her name because at this point I lose it) Me: Are you fucking kidding me? Her: Sir? Me: Are you fucking serious? I had this appointment in my calendar for 2, your computer e-mailed me for 2 and the person yesterday said it was at 3. Her: It's ok you can still... Me: NO! What the fuck? I asked her three fucking times if she was sure it's at 3 and she said yes. Her: But.. Me: I'm not putting up with this bullshit anymore. *I hang up* Nobody ever called me back and I'm still wondering what the mumble mumble was.

The son then proceeded to change the sedation treatment after I had already signed the forms and was hooked up to EKG and oxygen. I caught the switch before the operation went through and after Dr Eckert's son pushed back on me and I decided to walk out of their office. I've since been to another oral surgeon and that dentist said that only one wisdom tooth needed to come out and the other three had complications due to their proximity to facial nerves, that if damaged could cause facial paralysis. None of this information was given to me at my consultation with Dr. Eckert and I went in expecting all four teeth removed. What Dr. Eckert did was careless, unprofessional and unethical. I'm glad the procedure did not go through otherwise the son could have caused long term damage had he not had the experience to do the complicated procedure on the upper wisdom teeth.

Sitting at home (33 miles away) less than three hours after extraction of a wisdom tooth that Dr…read more Eckert described as "fractured, with deep roots, near a nerve and very close to an existing crown" (in other words, he gave me every possible warning about what could go wrong), I am ASTOUNDED at how seamless and soothing the actual procedure was, both in regard to the extraordinary care taken by his staff---shoutouts to Lillia for her compassionate scheduling efforts, Kristina and Katrina for their impeccable teamwork---in preparing me for the procedure, and to Dr. Eckert's astonishingly smooth performance of the extraction. His calm, engaged manner, always answering questions, and checking in about my comfort, made the experience that much more meaningful. The caring, empathetic professionalism of these folks reminds me of the Michelin (restaurant) Guide, in that they colloquially rate restaurants as "worth a stop," "worth a detour" or "worth a voyage." I felt that this experience was entirely worth the journey.

Tremendously great experience with Dr. Brian Chuang and the entire staff at Reading Endodontics…read more I had seen my dentist on a Friday morning about a tooth that was bothering and he suggested a specialist could get more insight. It didn't seem urgent then but in the evening, after eating something cold, the tooth got much worse. Of course, by then everything was closed but I emailed Reading Endodontics, which my wife had used before, and waited patiently until Monday 8am to talk to them. No need: Monday 8:03am I had a voicemail from Carol at Reading Endo: she had read my email, understood my problem and if I could get there right away they'd be able to take me. By 9am I was on the dentist chair getting X-rays. There's some real professionalism and responsibility and I felt 100% certain I'd made the right choice. Dr Chuang was very thorough, took about an hour and a half to do the work, explained the problem and what the next steps were. His assistant Anne was great, distracting me during the most difficult part which was injecting the anesthetic. The following day Carol called to check up on me! This was really the best possible outcome. Definitely plan on living to 120 without needing a root canal but, if that doesn't pan out, Reading Endodontics, Dr Brian Chuang and the staff there are the next best choice. I'm very grateful for the exceptional service I got there, from the very initial contact to the follow-up.
