As I write this review, it sounds frightening, even to me. But then what explains why I fell asleep during the second procedure? It's simple -- Dr Timothy Gabe, and his friendly and compassionate, professional and competent team worked seamlessly together to make sure that I was always comfortable. My first visit with Dr. Gabe went well. I had gotten crowns on 2 teeth and was still having pain. I was referred to Dr. Gabe by the dentist who did my crowns. Dr. Gabe, told me it was a muscle spasm. We agreed to meet for a second time to see how the tooth was feeling. Unfortunately, my second appointment do not go so well. I was left in the waiting area for 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I finally went to the desk to ask what was happening and expressed my displeasure, I wasn't rude, I was not disrespectful, I didn't raise my voice. I was disappointed and frustrated. I'm sure the frustration came across in my tone but absolutely not disrespectful. There is no way I'm letting this be put on me or turned around. If I was kept in the loop-a simple we are sorry but Dr. Gabe had an emergency or what ever the situation, I feel like that would have made all the difference. I could have made a decision earlier, to stay or reschedule-had I been informed on what was going on. Maybe the office can take a look at why this whole situation happened. I'm not retired, I do not have a lot of leisure time. When I go for an appointment I have to take time off from work-I do not get paid for that- and I need to get back to do my work as soon as I possible can. By the time I left the office it was just before 4:00(45 minutes). To have a 3:15 Appointment and sit in the waiting area until 3:53 is a long time without an update. While waiting, I had a conversation with a person in the waiting area. That person had an appointment with Dr. Gabe and his appointment was the same time as mine-3:15. When they called him before me, I thought this is not good.. At that time it was about 3:30ish. In addition, I'm not sure if Dr. Gabe is aware, I had called the office the day of the appointment-a couple hours before my appointment, to ask if I could change the appointment. I was told they change it but I would be charged, that was a bit confusing since I already paid and this was a a quick follow-up maybe that's why two people were scheduled at 3:15 - my reply was oh no I'll be there, interesting.. This also played into my frustration. After all this: I had a new appointment scheduled because of the situation mentioned above-I received a phone call a couple of days before that appointment from Dr. Gabe's office-I was told Dr. Gabe cancelled my appointment, he said the pain was a muscle spasm-without seeing me. I told the person, who called me to cancel my appointment, that this appointment was a follow up and my tooth was hurting. I never heard back. (Doesn't a dentist take an oath) I was surprised I didn't hear back-In the meantime, I went to an appointment with the Dr. who referred me to Dr. Gabe I was told that Dr. Gabe did not call me back because there was an incident?? What? What incident? What does that mean? To hear that was upsetting to say the least.. I called Dr. Gabe to see what was going on, to ask about my hurting tooth and the so called "incident." He never called me back. I find that to be unprofessional and discourteous. Dr. Gabe, could have called me to discuss whatever this is about. Instead, it was discussed with someone other than myself and my appointment was cancelled, my calls were not returned, after I had paid for a service, it does not feel good to be shut down like this. The deflection and arrogance is unbelievable.. I do not usually do reviews however, I think it was important to put this out there. I'm almost certain, if I showed up for an appointment 40 plus late I wouldn't have been seen and I would have been charged for the appointment. We as patients need to speak up in situations like this. When its the other way around, the practice speaks up. Dentist work hard and I appreciate that. What better way to start the year off than with a root canal, 2nd time at Boston Endodontics in Lynnfield. They really do a great job, I have not felt a thing in 2 procedures. As opposed to my first root canal which was like the Marathon Man torture scene, "is it safe yet". Dr Gabe does a great job, makes a root canal less painful than a cleaning. Dr. Gabe was EXCEPTIONAL. I had surgery last week and it went so smooth. My case is fairly complex and the procedure was a complete success. I have serious issues when it comes to getting numb when it comes to dental work and was very anxious about this, but Dr. Singer was extremely patient and thorough throughout the entire procedure. As a child in the early seventies, I had bad experiences with my dentist at the time. Therefore, I've always associated getting dental work with pain. (It's a tough habit to break.) Dr. Gabe has more than once flipped that association on its head. He'll never perform a procedure if he thinks you're in the slightest bit of pain. In fact, Dr. Gabe is patient, gentle, and strives for a pain-free experience. I first met him over two decades ago, when he rescued me from tooth pain so severe, I'd lost a good amount of weight from it. What surprised me most wasn't his ability to numb the tooth my dentist at the time wasn't able to numb, but that the root canal he performed didn't hurt. What also impressed me was his gentle manner, and, of course, he'd solved my tooth problem. No longer in pain, so relieved, I cried tears of joy in the elevator after leaving his office. The last time he performed a root canal on me, a few days ago, the experience was similar, except this time I'm sure I pushed his patience to the limit. First, because I required more novacaine than usual. Second, he had to do his job a few days after I had a procedure on one of my lungs. It caused me to cough more than usual, and this cough kicked in a couple of times during my root canal. Yet, Dr. Gabe remained empathetic, allowing me to sit up, offering me water to quell the cough, making sure I was okay before he continued with the job. By the end of the procedure, I couldn't express to him enough how much I appreciated his patience and good work. The only thing I could do is write this review to let others know how good he is. I recently had a few tooth issues and of course no one likes the dentist of any kind, but when the pain is no joke sometimes the anxiety of a dentist is just as bad as the pain. Fortunately my dentist referred me to her. She was so kind, gentle and made the process something I never imagined it could be. Aside from making the procedures more at ease etc she even followed up with me after hours. She's amazing. She's a specialist so it's comforting to know if ever needed she's the one to call. I didn't know a root canal could be this fast, painless, or well - perfect! I've had too many root canals due to no dental care and poverty in my youth. All that is behind me, but sometimes, even with the best care, which I can afford now, a root canal is necessary, sadly. I was referred to Dr. Gabe because of a molar that needed a root canal. I came into the office, the very friendly and helpful front office staff took care of me, even entertaining my 6 year old son while I was under the knife (they had an opening unexpectedly and I was nearby when they called, so I just walked over, but my son was with me for his own appointment which we had just finished elsewhere). I was whisked into the chair. First off - I thought I was on a Star Trek set - clearly Dr. Gabe's incredible care has allowed him to have the most advanced technology money can buy - it was really quite awesome. No waiting around for x-rays to develop! I was prepped, numbed, and when he came in, it was like a sci-fi flick - he moved with speed and precision I was unprepared for (having had several other root canals elsewhere). I had a three root molar, and he did all three in no more than 15, maybe 20 minutes tops. It was crazy, he is clearly skilled at the extreme level. I honestly left the office in less time than a typical cleaning appointment at my regular dentist. Best experience ever, and not just because of the speed - the pain I had been hoping would go away for months was gone in an hour from when I walked in the door. If I ever need another root canal (fingers crossed that's a NO!) - I won't even consider getting it done elsewhere. read more

My dad passed away recently. I was in a lot of pain in a tooth that was recently route canaled and capped. My tooth cracked and failed so the pain came upon my very suddenly. I called my dentist the day of the funeral cause of pain and I was brushed off on the phone by the secretary.( Very unfortunate) I called my entedontis and one.of the Drs picked up before hours on her way into the office. I have been meaning to write a review after my recent root canal at Boston Endodontics Lynnfield. To say I was terrified is an understatement. I had an awful experience when I was younger and the memory and fear has never gone away. My dentist referred me here. I was able to effortlessly make an appointment due to the awesome front desk crew and Lindsay, who became my self appointed therapy person. She did so much to calm and reassure me. After meeting Dr. Christine Melito I immediately knew I had come to the right place. She diagnosed the problem with my tooth and carefully explained the entire procedure. During the procedure she constantly checked my comfort level and kept me updated. Her incredible assistant Denise was very caring and even did a little dance to distract me! And of course, Lindsay was right by my side. I'm not sure if it's the case that root canals have gotten so much better or that I just had the most amazing team ever! Nobody likes to have a root canal, let alone two, but if you have to, Boston Endodontics is the practice where you will be treated carefully, compassionately, and in a timely manner. I first saw Dr. Labib in Boston, who thought I should take an antibiotic before working on the tooth, but then transferred to Dr. Melito because Lynnfield was a better option for me, easy to get to via 128. I felt I was in good hands with both of them, although Dr. Melito did the most work on my teeth. She is very caring, patient, and takes the time needed to answer any questions or concerns. The Lynnfield office is very pleasant as well, and the staff very helpful. These dentists rotate from the two locations, one in downtown Boston and the other in Lynnfield so depending on where you are located, you could choose either one. If you are driving to Boston, be aware that you should get exact directions as the office is set back from the street and you can't see it from the street. Highly recommended. read more

I recently had a root canal by Dr. Molito at the Lynnfield office and, it was a wonderful experience. Dr. Molito allowed me to feel 100% at ease. I don't think I ever had such a reassuring dental experience. Her relaxing personality coupled with her detailed skills and ability to communicate the entire process was wonderful. The process was totally pain free and I might have even dozed off at some point. The office was also inviting and friendly. This practice should also be named "The Clean-Up Crew"! l had some rather subpar root canal work done a few years ago by an old dentist and was having problems. I was referred to Boston Endodontics by a friend, particularly to see Dr. Singer for help. It was such a great experience and so different from my previous one I felt compelled to write. Dr. Singer was so great in his demeanor and the atmosphere was very relaxing with cool music on to take my anxiety away. He immediately diagnosed my issue and suggest I see Dr. Gabe at the practice who deals more often with my particular problem. It was like having the doctors on "House, MD" on the case. Both doctors were very thorough and I never felt that any decision was made without my being in the loop. The best part is that my correctly done root canal was fixed in essentially two visits and with NO PAIN. If you need any root canal or oral surgery ever, I strongly suggest you see these guys.
