I ordered a traditional taco as well (bacon and egg taco). Once you order from the window, they bring your order to your car. You can also call ahead with your ahead. Didn't take long at all to get my tacos. This is very convenient so you don't have to stand outside and can sit in your car jamming out to Harry Styles. The picadillo taco was good. They definitely flavor their meat. Yum! The migas taco was also good. The brisket taco was full of meat and very moist. The ultimo taco was a burst of flavor with all the meats and seasoning. It was either too busy or just out of the way for me. At my girlfriend's request, she wanted De Nada. We got De Nada. With no reservations and no plans on a mid-Saturday, we were understandably banished to the outdoor tables. It was a hot day, but with the fan blowing and the cold drinks flowing, I thought we'd be alright. We scanned their QR code menu and got our drinks ordered. Me with a Modelo Negra, and my girlfriend with their Beso De Sandia frozen, with Mezcal, Chamoy, watermelon, and lime. We also ordered chips with Queso Blanco and Salsa Verde with our drinks. The queso was brought to us within the minute we ordered. No joke. It was efficient. Capital F fast. With our drinks eventually brought out, we were honestly chilling. My girlfriend previously had a vegan enchilada she really liked that they didn't have this time, so she went for a Camote taco. I went for their Pollo and their Barbacoa. While we waited, we were putting in active work on that queso, which we knew we would feel later. The tacos came out very quickly too. On my Pollo was confit chicken, poblano peppers, cheese, cilantro, and onions. I was hungry at this point of the day, so it wasn't long before I destroyed it. The Barbacoa had beef, habanero salsa, cilantro, and pickled onions. It was also an excellent pick. On both, the blue corn tortillas were thick, added a touch of sweetness, and just made the experience a little more fun. In seeing the pink menus, the overall aesthetic of De Nada, hearing the talk of the town, and just knowing the run around here, I didn't expect De Nada to have cheap tacos. $5.50 for the chicken taco is a little hard to justify, and $7.75 for barbacoa is intense, but everything hit the spot, and we rolled out spending about $50 plus tip between the two of us, so it wasn't anything too out of the ordinary for a lunch. Well, we would also like them to check the order if they were planning to charge everyone for two large margaritas! They continued to insist that we needed to close out because we had hit the limit, which we hadn't, and then wouldn't let us add chairs to the table. But then they made us move tables to a different section. Now they have still not taken a new drink order because they are claiming we hit the limit that we haven't hit. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with the store manager because we have not received the food. It is now 5pm. The manager couldn't find the order but after 30 minutes found it. He told me that I was supposed to have a delivery service pick it up. No, the website has two boxes to check, pick up or delivery. It is their responsibility to have some delivery service. A few weeks ago I ordered from the same pollo Regio for delivery. They contradicted with a service but the order was over an hour late. After being on the phone with the store manager he supposedly gave me a full credit. I have tried to contact the Austin manager but can't find him/her. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! I have tried every vegetarian item on their menu, and while everything is great, my personal favorites are: - cheese enchiladas with mole verde (I get this 99% of the time because they are my favorite enchilada in town) - the chile rellano (it's listed in the sides, but I promise you that it can be a meal in itself) - their rice (comes with many of their plates or inside of their enchiladas) is actually soooooo good and one of the things I look forward to - queso (nothing different about it, but it's just a really good standard queso) - flaquita (spicy watermelon margarita; I don't need to say more) - sangria blanca (super refreshing) Up until a few months ago, I would have given this place five stars, but I've noticed a decline in service that is making me knock it down to a four. For example, they used to give free chips and salsa the second you sat down, but the last three times, I've had to ask them for it (pro tip: ask for chips and salsa!!). I've also noticed slower and less attentive service. Overall, I still love El Alma, and when it comes to food and vibes, it has withstood the test of time. Everyone I introduce to El Alma falls in love (my sister visits me once a year, and El Alma is always on the agenda). They started by asking about restrictions or allergies, so they helped me pick out the vegan options. Only downside here is that it gets hot in the restaurant. There seem to only be a few tables that don't get baked by the sun coming through the windows at dinner time. Both times I went, we were sweating a bit or had sun directly in our eyes because they either don't have shades on the windows or just don't use them.
