My daughter was super exited to try a Korean hot dog for the first time. We head to Momo Tea right after school. She ordered a mozzarella hot dog and I went with a flaming hot sausage. I also got a Lime Passion fruit tea with boba. We had 3 mochinuts: white chocolate, funnel cake and churro. Service was 0/10. The young lady at the front counter was not very friendly. She had a flat affect the entire time and when I ask her to explain her fruit teas, she responded "What do you mean? Like all of them?" Their fruit teas looked a little bit different from the tea we order at the mall. What can I say I'm ignorant to the teas but I'm trying to learn. I felt like a bother asking any questions because of her response so I went ahead and ordered one to try. My daughter's corn dog 10/10. My corn dog 5/10. I'm assuming the flaming hot makes the corn dog soggy because mine was not as crispy as my daughter's. Tea 2/10 I liked the flavor but there was a ton of pulp and it was not popping boba, rather chewy, and I'm not a fan of the texture. I would have avoided ordering had I had an explanation of the tea. Mochinuts 5/10 Churro was delicious. The other two were pretty dry and flavorless (my first time trying so maybe that's the norm). Overall review: Pros: Mozzarella corn dog is fire!!! I believe this is the second place in Baton Rouge to have Korean corn dogs, so didn't waste anytime in checking it out. The corn dogs were tasty! There's a few condiments you can add too. They are also the first place to have mochi donuts in the city. They were yummy, I had the cookies and cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. The strawberry does have a strong artificial strawberry flavor, so if that's something you aren't a fan of, just making you aware! The drinks were okay, no complaints but also nothing that stands out amongst other tea places. Maybe I just picked the wrong one... I definitely would recommend Momo. Their menu has very unique items in the city, they're reasonably priced and tasty. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get some studying done with a boba drink at hand and was happy with my visit! I got a large oolong milk tea with boba (~$6). After you order, they will call out your number/order at the pick up counter when it's ready. My drink was great -- only thing is that I wasn't super impressed with the "large" size and overall, a tad pricey. (Tip: a few drinks already come with boba included; the rest you'll have to pay the extra topping cost!) There is free WiFi and tons of available outlets everywhere for you to plug into, which made it perfect for me to spend a few hours here. There are also some table games (Jenga, Connect 4, Settlers of Catan). If you plan on studying/working here, it can get a bit noisy with the overhead pop music playing and occasional rush of customers. This place is more than just a trendy gimmick. I'd venture to say it's quite the opposite. While Momo is AHEAD OF THE TRENDS in every way possible, they also deliver excellent food, treats, tea, and coffee. Momo still remains my favorite milk tea shop in Baton Rouge! It's the most consistent spot that uses real milk instead of the creamer powder that other places use. They're the most consistent and I never leave with a delicious drink or hot Cheeto corn dog that I don't love! Their tapioca is always fresh and on point and they care about the quality of their drinks, making them correctly every time. Unlike the other milk tea shops, Momo is probably the only one that actually has music playing inside and I love their playlists. They offer buy one, get one drink 50% off on Mondays and student discounts :) it's a great place to get a midday pick me up and just hang out and play board games. I visited with a friend for the first time since pre lockdown and I was thrilled to see the expanded menu options. I got the lychee tea with cheese foam and three mochi nuts to split with a friend. We were disappointed because we wanted to try the honeybutter soft serve listed on the menu but they didn't have it - only mango and taro. The mochinut flavors of the week were pretty lame for the week but I had heard such positive things about them so I gave them a try- butterfinger, strawberry mint, and the ever present funnel cake. Butterfinger was a surprising win for me as I'm not the biggest peanut butter fan but the textural contrast of the toppings to chewy dough was lovely. Funnel cake was really plain. Strawberry mint was outright disgusting. I was hoping that the mint would be minimal and strawberry be in the forefront but instead the icing was the texture and taste of gritty minty toothpaste, simply colored pink. Both my friend and I really disliked that one and eating it alongside our cheese foam teas was outright so so unpleasant. Momo tea is a quaint place with a decent size menu. I got the original Korean corn dog half mozzarella half sausage. It is dusted with sugar on top. I was skeptical but it ended up working! It was very good. There are a few sauces at the back, get the spicy mayo. As far as the tea. It was just ok. At lost places 100% sweet is way too sweet for me. I typically get 50% sweetness. Here 50% tasted like nothing. Definetly get the full sweetness. Also the young lady at the counter was not friendly to me at all. I smiled and spoke and she just looked at me. Our curiosity was peaked when we heard about MoMo's infamous cheese foam tea drinks. So after lunch a Thai Pepper we decided to give it a try. As if we weren't stuffed as it was. They're located in a newer strip mall and have plenty of options for parking. The interior isn't your typical Asian tea store, it is modern and inviting you to come and sit with a group of friends to chat or maybe study. The teas are all pretty expensive, but I have to say the quality is different from your standard powdered tea drinks from other places. We ordered the strawberry green tea with cheese foam, the mango with cheese foam, the black tea with cheese foam, and a bubble waffle with a scoop of strawberry ice cream. The cheese foam is an acquired taste I have to say I enjoyed it. The tea was lightly flavored in the strawberry green tea and I wish it was a stronger. The mango smoothie was delicious and was a bit thick. The bubble waffle was delicious, I would definitely get it again it is easily shared between two people as well. Board games, plenty of tables available for hanging out or for studying. WiFi (which doesn't always work) The Bad: - More expensive than other bubble tea places - Not impressed with their bubble tea at all. Where we were then questioned and asked "What did you expect a mango smoothie to taste like" which I found to be very frustrating as a paying customer. Rags and I visit very often and love this place. The girl who runs it is awesome - bit of a language issue, but always super flexible and accommodating. My standard is the peach green tea with bubbles and no sugar. Rags loves their lemon tea. The cheese foam - I have tried it and it's an acquired taste for sure. NOT my cup of tea :) I do like their bubbles a little bit better than some other places - a little bit mushier and just a hint of sweetness I also love their street style bubble waffle, just by itself. The ice creams they have are usually way too sweet for me to be able to enjoy fully. Drove through Baton Rogue on my way to New Orleans and was SO GLAD I stopped for boba! This place was a gem and easy to access off the highway after eating at the famous Parrain's (relatively close by). Having come from Dallas, I wasn't sure what to expect from a boba tea shop in a smaller city but was really impressed! The lady behind the counter was really accommodating. I asked to try some of the cheese foam before committing to a whole drink and she gave me a mini sample with some tea so I could have the full experience. I LOVED their cheese foam!
