Right when we arrived, there was a small line but it went by super quick, because there are two kiosks inside and the entry is try narrow, so the line extended outside. I visited this Molly Tea location on Tuesday this week. I think there's two order kiosk, but only one of them was working that day. There was a line of people ordering. The shop is really small with some seating inside. The decor is very modern and bright. This store is definitely smaller than the Sunnyvale one. I got the Snowy Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba. The wait was about 18 minutes. A lot of people were just standing there waiting so people had to maneuver o go in & out of the store. When they called out my number to get my drink, I noticed (after I got it), it was sticky on the outside because he didn't wipe the outside of my cup. A lot of the drinks were just sitting on the counter near where he finished drinks are placed. Those drinks were left open for the finishing touches such as the whipped cream or cheese foam. They were very busy, and a lot of people were waiting. The drink itself... It was had nice creamy strong tea flavor. I can definitely taste the peach flavor shining through. BUT the brown sugar boba was not good. The texture of the brown sugar boba was like in those canned boba drinks you would get at an Asian grocery store. That's not real boba. It's more like a jelly instead of actual boba. I would rather go to the Sunnyvale location instead because the quality seemed better. Parking was not too bad. Really liked the Molly Tea in San Mateo so I wanted to visit the Palo Alto location as well. This one is nice as there is some seating inside compared to San Mateo. There was only 1-2 people today (Friday) around 12pm, so drinks were ready within 5 minutes. You can order at the two kiosks, or there was a QR code to scan as well to order. As expected, the premium jasmine milk tea with regular (70%) sweetness is great. I opted for sago as a topping and it didn't really taste like much, but was good. I wish they let you have honey boba but it was not selectable as an add-on. I also tried the tongmu lapsang milk tea, which may be my new favorite. As it is made with black tea, it tastes similar to a Hong Kong milk tea, but it doesn't have the overly sweet taste of condensed milk. It tasted very refreshing. read more

Was able to find parking easily on a rainy evening at 830p, but I can imagine it being tricky during peak hours. Loved the high quality insulated bag that my drinks came in, and staff were nice. This is the third Molly tea in the bar area . The originally one is in Mountain View with a tiny parking lot . Their teas taste excellent. I love the matcha version or just plain Jasmine tea with toppings or other flavors. They brew the tea with top quality tea leaves and are very rich in flavor . The store inside Mountain have beautiful seatings and indoor decor but no parking or very tight parking spots outside . This one in Palo Alto has huge parking structure near by and is free . Came by for their grand opening on Sunday a couple weeks ago around 7:15pm and was pleasantly surprised to see that there were only a few other people in line! Found street parking a few blocks away and walked over. Decided to order the Premium Jasmine Matcha and the White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea with recommended ice and sweetness levels. Only had to wait about 5 minutes before my order was ready! The floral notes from the jasmine really come through in the Jasmine Matcha, and the White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea was also really enjoyable and had a strong tea flavor. I've got the Jasmine Matcha with Salted Cheese. I expected it to be mainly matcha and only a little bit of the salted cheese but it's the other way around. I personally didn't like my drink as I barely tasted the matcha. The salted cheese cream is also on the thicker side that it feels a little sticky around my mouth. They also only have few options for no milk drinks especially they don't have any milk option for substitutions. Luckily this location is in downtown and across the street, there's pretty much a garage that you can park your car. read more

So far, I've been to this Molly Tea in Sunnyvale and then here in Palo Alto. If you are deciding on which location to go to then consider these: Sunnyvale Pro - Lots of seating in a spacious store Con - Tightttt parking spaces in a small parking lot Palo Alto Pro - Big parking garage across the street with free three hour parking and double lined parking spots Con - Cramped store with tiny side tables and only one bench for seating. Probably not wheelchair friendly because the store is maybe three people wide However my gripe with Molly Tea in general are their paper cups. I ordered their new Jasmine Apple Milk Tea as a hot drink instead of the recommended iced version, and while the drink is the typical yay yummy finally a tea centered drink woo, their cup technology is not yet there. The hot tea comes in a paper cup sealed with a plastic film and a nifty lid with a drink spout and a little tab to reveal a straw hole. Me, wanting to sip my hot drink through the spout, opens the lid and proceeds to spill the drink everywhere while taking off the film. If only I was a straw enjoyer instead! I could've pierced the film with a straw instead of struggling with taking off the entire film. Anyway, film gone with fifty cents of tea, I put my lid back on and huh???? The hot drink seeped into the paper rim and now the rim is double the size. Lid no longer fits. I stubbornly try anyway. More tea casualty. I finally go get a replacement cup. Lid fits. Cool. Except, I placed my drink onto the tiny tables, friend bumps into the cup, drink now on the ground with tea everywhere. Anyway four stars for the cup design but five stars for the staff that quickly and gladly mopped up my disaster. Good thing the tea did not burn me because of the warm serving temperature. read more

We've had Molly Tea a few times and generally been happy. They're known for their jasmine teas but their other teas are pretty good too. I do find the milk tea drinks to be a bit on the milkier side but I think it's fine. Dancong (oolong) milk tea is good. Jasmine is good too although my husband thinks the milk dilutes the tea flavor a bit. I've also tried the Jasmine matcha one and it's good and creamy but extremely strong (at least for me)! I find less sugar 30% to be good for me. Their sweetness is not very strong in general. This shop is extremely narrow and there is some seating in the back where you don't face each other, so not super comfortable to dawdle for too long. read more
