This is a nice quaint Boba place on university Avenue that has a lot of variety and flavor. I really appreciate how many options they have that are caffeine free. They have forced all orders onto a kiosk now, which makes the whole experience feel incredibly cold and impersonal. To make matters worse, there is only one kiosk for the entire shop. If you get stuck behind someone customizing five different boba drinks, you'll be waiting forever just to order. Even with a line forming, the staff behind the counter completely ignored everyone. No greeting, no eye contact, and absolutely zero acknowledgement that we were even there. On top of that, the drinks took forever to come out. I am a very frequent customer and they lost me yesterday. I am very sensitive to dairy and what made me happy about coming to this location is that the drinks never make my stomach upset. I'm a boba fiend so clearly there's bias, but I've had lots of mediocre spots in my life where T4 is a slight step above (maybe a 3.5 rounded up). Location near the Caltrain is a bonus, snagging a drink or sitting down a bit while waiting for the awful schedule is a deal too. Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Boba - boba is chewy though there's some inconsistency as some are amazing and others are almost slightly undercooked so this averages out to be like average 3/5 boba. As for the milk tea, I tried it after biking home so the ice melted and watered down the drink, even then the tea was very much present as well as the milkiness. To be honest, T4 isn't the first place that comes to mind when I think of boba. All the genius marketing from Boba Guys got me on their hype bandwagon, and I am otherwise thinking of the cool new Instagram-minded drinks at Tiger Sugar and Yifang. My coworkers ended up getting T4 because they were on Doordash and open late. With my boba fanatic reputation, everyone put me on the spot asking for T4 recs although all I could think of at the moment was how T4 always reminded of the T4 thyroid hormone. The T4 menu had a nice selection--besides the milk teas, fruit teas, creamas, and smoothies, they had a number of specialty drinks like yogurt green tea, the pretty potted plant drink, and some chocolatey drinks. I chose the ROYAL FRESH MILK TEA because I gravitate towards fresh milk drinks, and I don't think you could go wrong with a drink dubbed royal. You can customize milk (default is whole milk, but you can change to soy, oat, or almond) as well as your tea base (earl grey, jasmine, or roasted oolong). It's a little confusing because the other drinks don't seem to have this option for milk and tea modifications. Maybe that is what makes this royal??! Ice and sugar are customizable for all drinks. I ended up getting the royal fresh milk tea with roasted oolong, oat milk, no toppings, 30% sweet, no ice. The oolong tea flavor was pretty good with toasty roasty overtones. The sweetness level was just right, and there was a deliciously subtle creaminess from the oat milk. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by how on-point the drink was. Caffeine level was medium because I had this in the evening and was still able to sleep (although I'm becoming a bit of a caffeine fiend these days!) read more

Ordered a Taro milk tea and winter melon milk tea both with boba. We got our drinks and got back home. I just got off the phone with the store manager Angie who was unhelpful and extremely rude. Before Angie got on the phone I was speaking with another T4 employee who said he could issue me a refund because the boba is so hard you can't even chew it. Then Angie came and took the phone from the employee and although I made it clear I wouldn't be able to come to the store (because it's almost 9pm they're about to close) and I shouldn't have to waste my gas going back to fix an issue that they caused. She insisted the only way to get a refund was to come into the store right now in this moment. Her tone was super patronizing and it was clear from the start she didn't want to help. It seemed it was too much of an inconvenience to her to help resolve an inconvenience caused to me with my money. Tldr Angie the T4 manager is remarkably rude and refunds are only possible if you are available to come in that moment. Also overpriced crappy boba ____ Response from owner is just not accurate btw... they asked me to bring the boba back in that immediate moment (because they were set to close in ~20 min). While they did say to come back the next day, it was NOT them guaranteeing a refund. It was to "talk with the store owner." Keep in mind, nobody has the time to drive ALL the way back to this subpar boba shop and have discourse over a single boba. My call was simply to ask for a refund and didn't think it would be so incredibly difficult to get $7 back. Point still stands lol read more

I got the passionfruit royal tea with 50% sweet and it tasted like 100% sweet so I would definitely decrease sugar levels. The drink just tasted like a bunch of syrup which isn't bad but also wasn't that great. Also it was really busy that day which wasn't really under their control and they were understaffed but they kept taking orders without telling us there might be a longer wait which was misleading for some people. The passion fruit smoothie does not have it and basically is passion fruit syrup with ice.
