Nachos (with chipotle chicken)
Nikki H.

Got an order of nachos with a Mexican cola. The nachos were wet and soggy-- too few chips, too much toppings. It turned into a taco casserole by the time it got to my doorstep. Very disappointed, considering I have been coming here for years :(

Spicy Crispy Chicken Salad

Mole Mole was my regular place for Mexican food and I dearly miss it. My go-to was always the Spicy Crispy Chicken Salad (with the fried tortilla bowl) and their tacos. I've always gotten what I've paid for, the food is very consistent, and the staff were always very friendly towards me, my family, and my friends. It's worth trying whether you're dining in or taking out.

We called ahead with our order when the Hooker Ave restaurant was closed. Within 5 minutes of arriving to Mole Mole our food was served. Everything was cooked perfectly with fresh ingredients.

Chips and salsa

Their newest addition is chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Salsa was spicy which I loved! Love the fajitas, shrimp tacos, Mexican street corn and tacos. Definitely recommend. Service has always been and still is very homey and warm here. Have had the waitress "Tamar" a few times always a pleasure. Will definitely be back soon.

This place is hard to love. I get the reviewers' opinions. Lack of service, No free chips, $16 for 2 fish tacos, $7 mango salsa, $5 pico, ... overpriced like crazy. However; that cóctel. The food is legit Mexican food from Mexico. It's not gringo food with a Spanish name. It's so fresh and authentic. And... súper pricey for some things. Experience. .. one Fri evening around 8, way ahead of closing, I walk in and the lady owner looked as if she was annoyed I'd come in. I asked if they were closed bc she looked at me like why are you here. So after saying OK I'll LET you stay, two other customers come in. She looked more annoyed. They each got soup and tacos and each paid 19.xx for food. We all checked out together so I saw their tickets. I can't justify $20 on some tacos with old rice and beans. For what??? It's not even fancy meat cuts. I don't get it. For what I order, it's delicious but if I'm spending that much money on an entrée I'd get way more than tacos for 20$ plus tip and tax.

Best Mexican you're going to find in this area. Traditional fare mixed with a few tex-mex choices guarantees everyone will find something they like. The produce is always crisp and fresh, and the food is prepared consistently and well. If you're there for a quick cheap lunch do yourself the favor and grab one of their Tortas. These sandwiches are enormous and at roughly the price of fast food, there really isn't any decision to make. The taco platter is another wallet friendly choice that allows a first time visitor to try a few different house specialties. For the truly time and money conscious just get one of their excellent soups and ask for a few extra tortilla chips, you'll be out the door full and happy in less than 15 minutes.

Guac and chips

My wife and I first came across Mole Mole several weeks ago when dining at Yolo Cafe (next door). We decided then that we would make it a point to try this Mexican spot out at some point. That time finally came tonight For 7:30pm on a Friday, this place was relatively empty. No matter to us, quicker service! My first instance of disappointment came when being told they didn't have any negro modello - my favorite when dining this type of food. I won't hold it against them, as Modello Especial was still available. The next round of disappointment came when we discovered that they don't give you any chips/salsa to start! We decided to have the guac and chips to satisfy our urge. The guac had a nice spice kick to it and that was enjoyable. We asked for a side of salsa to accompany it (pico de gallo) and later discovered that they charged us $5 extra for it... gotta love when restaurants do those types of things (another disappointing factor)... I'm not one to argue it with the waiter, but it was definitely going in the review The biggest disappointment to me came with the food itself. I opted for a spicy pork quesadilla (which contains pineapple - not listed on the menu. I enjoyed that aspect of it, but just a heads up for anyone who may not). I expected it to be a tad more flavorful, and the only thing salvaging it was the pineapple. It absolutely did not live up to the spicy advertisement to me at all. My wife on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian enchilada and that made it this restaurants saving grace for this review. That and the side single taco I had. That was delicious and came with a great spicy sauce on the side Now, I'll admit that my review may seem as though I hated this place but that wasn't the case. I would absolutely give it another try and chalk it up to bad choice on the menu for me. Being that my wife liked, I may not have a choice!

For a spicy taste of Mexico north of the border... WAY NORTH of the border! Stop in to Mole Mole in Poughkeepsie NY. There are 3 location to choose from, we sampled the one across from Marist college on route 9 GO RED FOXES!! We started with the unibrow Frieda inspired nachos. They sound like your typical nachos; ground beef, beans, cheese, a little cilantro and crema but are topped with a mild mole sauce! That's the surprise in this cracker jacks box! Tasty tasty. Then we moved on to the tortilla salad, I was a bit disappointed, felt like the broth could have been developed with a few more es-spices. But it was just the right medicine for a cold wintery day. Unfortunately my belly was full and the adventure stopped there. I rated Molé Molé a shining 3 prong star because of the great company and tasty dishes. A bite more: Sources tell me the steak tacos are a very good choice. Add some of the buffalo hot sauce and enjoy. It was fast service at a decent price! They sell "Boing" - a mexican soda made with real sugar.

I did come at an in-between time (around 3pm), so it's possible that this was a one-off, but it was so meh that I'm not sure I'll be back to give it another shot (if I do, I'll come right at lunch or dinner time). The good: the mole was fantastic! Even with a mediocre meal, this stood out as amazing. The portions were generous. I thought at one point the woman asked if I wanted chicken or beef enchiladas, and having never had beef enchiladas I said "beef please." It turns out, I received chicken enchiladas with a portion of skirt steak on top (see photo). Again, very generous. The decor was lively. The misses: The beans were quite bland, to the point where I was surprised...it's such a foundational element of Mexican cuisine, but they needed more spices / a touch more salt. Also, my wife ordered the veggie wrap and it was bland. It contained lots of different vegetables, but somehow they weren't seasoned. I know vegetarian burritos aren't all the craze, but when I took a bite of it, I agreed...it was just vegetables, no seasoning at all. Nice to have it on the menu for folks like my wife, but why not season them first? Maybe it was an oversight. The horchata was different from what I've had in the past...not bad, but not something I would recommend either. It was watery, lacked any cinnamon flavor, and had ground almond on top, which was interesting (maybe this is regional?). Without the dynamite mole and the generous portions, this would be a 2 star review, but I can't, in good conscience, give less than 3 stars with mole like that. But the beans...womp womp.

The menu is extensive with some Mexican plates you rarely see at most Mexican restaurants. The totopos are really crisp. The beans are well cooked and seasoned, the rice is moist, with some entrees the piquancy can be adjusted. The main dining room and uni-sex rest room is kept clean. Take-out available. Compostable and microwavable takeout containers There is some street parking.

It was about 1:30 and the place was empty though people came in and made orders to go. The waitress also seemed to be cooking in The back. The manager was also there to help us pick from their menu. We ordered our drinks and i got an horchata. This horchata was delicious and gigantic. They also brought nacho chips with beans to eat while we wait for our order and they were so good. I got a simple order of steak tacos. The meat was good and tender i do wish that their hot sauces were spicier as i prefer it spicy. We also got a plate of chicken that seems to be fried in a sweet batter. It was tasty but I wasn't a big fan of the sweet batter. There was also an order of tamales de molé which tasted a little dry butt spicy. Overall the place and food was a solid 4/5.

The major win for this restaurant in addition to the portion sizes? Their handmade flour tortillas that come on their empanadas / quesadillas -- such delicious, earthy and chewy tortillas!
