I was looking for a new place to try and stumbled here. I was talking to the one of the workers and they said they've been only open for a week or two. It was very quiet during the lunch hour, but I'm sure not many people know about it yet. I ordered the garlic naan, butter chicken, papdi chat, and masala soda to go. The garlic naan was huge and fresh. The butter chicken was delicious. I love dipping the bread into the sauce of the butter chicken. I've never had a masala soda before. It was alright. Not sure I'd get it again though. The papdi chat was good though. I hope this place gets more attention. The food is good and the service was friendly and quick.

I was thrilled to see an Indian restaurant open in Northbrook! My family and I love dining at Indian restaurants, so this was a welcome addition. I took my parents out to eat on a Friday evening, and we had no problem getting seated right away. The service was impeccable and all of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. My favorites were the samosa, mango lassi, butter chicken, and cheesy naan. The naan and butter chicken were delicious. Some of the other dishes we ordered could have been hotter in temperature and the flavors could be refined. As others have mentioned, rice is not included, however, prices seemed reasonable for the portion size.

The food was amazing. Great service! Try the vegetable samosa, butter chicken, cheese garlic naan, Jeera rice. I ordered shrimp curry and another order of cheese garlic naan, to go. I'm so happy I found this Gem.

We were seated promptly in the formal dining room which was nicely decorated. Our semi-circular booth was spacious and comfortable. There were different sections in the restaurant that were more casual, tailored to the different tastes of the clients. Overall, food was delicious and portions were huge. I had a Boston Clam Chowder and a Gulf Grouper as the main. I would usually order a salad, but I didn't this time as each entrée came with a large plate of homemade roasted vegetables and wild rice. The Boston Clam Chowder had real pieces of clams in it. However, it was just lukewarm. My grouper looked great and tasted flavorful, but it was somewhat over-cooked (and therefore not tender), which was unfortunate. My wife had a bowl of Lobster Bisque and an order of Stuffed Flounder that had crabmeat sandwiched in the fish. She absolutely loved her choices. Our daughter had a Charbroiled Walleye and liked it too. Her only disappointment was the garlic bread being hard and dry. Our daughter and I each had a Chardonnay Stags Leap which was good, while my wife had a Virgin Mojito and truly enjoyed it. Surprisingly, the highlight of the night was the slice of tiramisu that our friendly and professional server Greg brought to me! It had a lit candle for my birthday, and Greg teamed up with two other waitresses enthusiastically sang me a happy birthday song! The tiramisu was excellent, creamy and not too sweet. I am not a dessert person but really appreciated this. I have a suggestion for the restaurant: as the portions were so large and each of us brought home half of it, it would have been nice that they make the portion 40% to 50% smaller, and lower the average price of $40 per entrée accordingly. It might help attract more customers. Just my two cents. All in all, I had a lovely birthday dinner at Boston Fish Market. Ambience was good, and service was outstanding. We will certainly return again.

My ahi tuna was a tiny overcooked and kinda fishy. Portion was a lot of vegetables which were fine. My husband had halibut which was good, but only a couple pieces of asparagus. Hubby and I wanted some seafood and we passed by Surf's Up a few times so it's long overdue for us to stop and try the food today. The owner, Lisa, was working behind the counter. She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren't in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made. The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn't stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described! We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po' boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. Don't pass up this cute little place with delicious fresh seafood and desserts plus friendly service.
