Very unique place, in a good, grassroots Portland kind of way. There's a potter/artist in the corner behind glass working on art, a TV is showing the piece of art being worked on. There are about 15 tables scattered throughout the cafe, an eclectic mix of furniture and heights. There is a beautiful patio outside if you want to enjoy the sunshine. PLENTY of outlets, great wifi, friendly service, not super packed, just right, good prices for the amount you get. I got a skim chai latte iced, was fine ~ $4.50. It's hard to find. If you enter from the main entrance, go up the stairs to your left, and you'll see a hallway in front of you towards your right. Go into the hallway, and take your first right, then you should be able to see a Mojo sign on your left. It took me about 5 minutes to find the place and a few jiggles of random doorknobs. Note: Kitchen stops serving food @ 3pm so if you want to try something on their menu, come before then. read more

All the other reviews speak the truth- 5 stars through and through. My soy chai was delicious and spicy and the scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy. Rosemary potatoes were also delicious. I didn't get the owner's name, but he was so easy to talk to and can definitely make a mean latte. This is a gallery, too, and there's tons of local art on the walls. I had to buy a few hand-thrown coffee mugs. Too cool. The atmosphere doesn't feel pretentious or messy, there's just a perfect blend of great art and homey comfort. I stumbled upon this coffee shop cause I was looking on Yelp for a coffee shop that was open late (this was open til 9pm on a Tuesday) and figured I would check it out. I was so disappointed I hadn't checked out this place earlier! It is located in a pretty quiet area so there is plenty of parking. It is in a cool big industrial building and has a nice front patio. The atmosphere is what I have been looking for. It has high ceilings and a slightly modern vibe but is still so so cozy with displayed pottery and warm wood. There weren't many people there so it was nice and quiet but had music playing so if you talked it wasn't too loud. They have a menu displayed and the worker told me they had decaf espresso (it was 8pm) so I got an iced decaf americano. The whole evening my friend and I were able to chat in a relaxing environment that was really cozy. All the pottery displayed is really pretty and is a nice decoration - and was dangerous cause I wanted to take it all home with me! I loved how this place in a quiet area and has a unique charm to it. Definitely added to the top of my favorite coffee shops! read more

I'm not usually in this area of town but I'm assuming that's same for many people as I was happy to find that the coffee shop wasn't too crowded in the afternoon/evening and I was able to find a table easily. I enjoyed the casual and more quiet environment as I was there to study. Found an outlet easily enough and had no trouble with the Wifi. Barista was friendly and quickly made my drink. The shop is in a warehouse building and I believe there were various art studios in the building as there was pottery and other knick-knacks on the walls which is always fun to look at. Although I sat inside, there was a cute patio area where I would definitely consider sitting next time. All around really nice place and a bit more enjoyable than the more crowded coffee shops like Spyhouse. read more

Coffee was pretty good, decor was adorable, and the atmosphere was great, but the coffee took SO long to arrive (my husband waited at least 25 minutes) and one staff member in particular was extremely rude and ruined what was meant to be a relaxing experience. I love this artistic and local cafe! The owner is always two steps ahead of his customers! The veggie burger is my favorite and cappuccino! I feel right at home here. I agree with the other positive reviews, the lighting, artwork, music, and space are wonderful, relaxing, and inspiring. But I want to add that the staff is great as well. I see the owner at the cafe often, working behind the bar, talking to patrons, offering bites of baked goods to try, which makes a difference to me. The other staff have always been friendly and laidback too. The parking is also super-helpful! I keep coming back here despite trying many other places, in all seasons, and have brought my friends and family too. After reading about Mojos on Yelp, I had to check it out! Loved that it's hidden away in an old NE neighborhood in the Arts District! I instantly found it to be a calm, cozy, artistic, welcoming atmosphere. People were on laptops, playing chess, talking business, and enjoying the coffee and food. I had been looking for a place to host my son's Groom's dinner and was thrilled to hear that Mojo's could be my solution. After meeting with Marko, the owner, I was convinced we could make it work. I would be hosting a party at Mojos but would NOT have to make the food! How great was that!! Pros of the event: *Marko, the owner, was very accommodating to work with *free and ample parking right next to the building *restaurant rental was very reasonable per hour of use *after Mojos closed, we were a private party and brought in our own alcohol and bartender *complete access to the espresso bar. Barista kept track of the drinks and added it to the bill. *beverages were reasonably priced and delicious *brought in our own dessert *great background music and access to any Sirius station *could have had reasonably priced live music (Marko is a musician and has lots of contacts) *access to a microphone for toasts to the bride and groom *no need for decorations as there was already art work on the wall and ceramic pieces displayed *perfect size and atmosphere for our group of about 75 people to mingle and visit *Marko's talented chef made the food on site and also tapas for the guests that were amazing *an ice maker and coolers so no need to bring our own *a filtered water dispenser *Marco walked around serving tapas to our guests and talked with everyone *able to bring things in earlier in the week and store in a locked area *food was reasonably priced Cons of the event: *communication was a bit too laid back for me in the beginning but was great the week before the party *only Marko and one other employee were going to work the party. In my opinion, we needed three people and one more was added per my request *no coat check but it really didn't seem to be a problem *needed to bring our own plates and bar drink cups (Mojos did not have enough for the size of our group) *no refrigeration space for beverages brought in As you can see, the pros definitely outweighed the cons. Our guests LOVED everything about Mojos. Thanks to the staff who worked the party and thanks to Marko for accommodating us with all of the details. I highly recommend this treasure to anyone looking to host a casual party for 75 to 100 people. read more

Great atmosphere and layout with high vaulted ceilings and creative artwork that makes you feel hip and cultured. The coffee is good, the music and noise level the same, there are stylish tables for both sitting and standing, the food is clever and tasty (banh mi or curried potato salad!). Oh and the folks who run it are so frigging amiable I find myself wanting to give them more money for coffee even though my bowels feel betrayed by the onslaught. This is by far the nicest coffee shop in NE Minneapolis. The atmosphere is diverse enough to accommodate your needs, whether it be studying or meeting a friend. The owner is actively involved in the operation of the coffee shop and it shows. Unlike Starbucks, where the owner is far removed and children basically run the business this place is home-grown LOLO and it shows! If you're in the area stop by and check it out. Great coffee, great food and awesome artwork. The breakfast sandwiches are fucking incredible!!! I don't think I've ever had a better breakfast sandwich anywhere, let alone a coffee shop! The shape is almost agoraphobia inducing it's so wide-open. This makes it less constricting and provides a goldilocks atmosphere: enough anonymity to have private conversations and not too noisy that you can't focus or study. I have to admit that I've only been here a few times but I went to event here that was just incredible and the culture reminded me of being back in Berkeley, CA. That kind of nostalgic experience is hard to find in Minneapolis but it's definitely part of the Vibes that I get here. Maybe that's the Mojo the name is referring to. read more

I remember when the original Mill City Cafe was in this space and pleased to see the lovely patio brought back to life. Even more pleased to sip a perfectly brewed cup of cappuccino, speak with the friendly owner, Marc, and scout out a table for telecommuting in the near future. Bar none - this is the best coffee shop in town. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time working at various coffee shops (no really - a ridiculous amount of time). And Mojo is the best of some great options. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is filled with good people. It's been extremely friendly for people like me that work or study here every day and it's still a place that you can find seating! On the weekends - especially in the summer they bring in some great (free) music and they have in my opinion the best patio to work on when the weather is nice. Mojo has great coffee and beverage options and the pricing is always more than fair. They'll give you a number on a stick so grab a fork and napkin for your food and they'll bring your food out to you unlike so many coffee shops in town where you need to linger by the counter. Beyond all this they've got some great pottery and artwork along the walls and on the tables by local artists and often you can watch them work in a glass enclosed corner they have reserved for just such viewing. Sure - it's kind of like a little artists zoo but don't worry they do let these animals out. I don't normally write reviews but I saw some negative reviews and felt that a little balanced perspective was called for. I wish Mojo all the success in the world - I just hope that it doesn't end up getting so successful that I can no longer find a seat! read more
