I thought this place was great. Esp the patio on a sunny day.

What can I say about this place! Yummy food, great people, amazing service every time. I am addicted to their Vaca Frita. Local gem!!

Super delish, unique plates of food in a laid back atmosphere! My mojito was pretty weak though. I'll go back in a heartbeat but forgo the alcohol so I can have room for more eats. read more

Loved it! I never knew I could find such a great mojito (and good food) so close to home....wish I had discovered it sooner.

Good food at decent prices for lunch.

The is by far the most fun restaurant I've been to in Seattle. The servers and owner are incredibly friendly and funny. The music is great and the food is amazingly delicious. Just the color of the place wakes you up on a cloudy day! I will return here many times. read more

It's a casual, hole in the wall place, but the food and service is superb! The portions are huge. And it makes for great leftovers! I will definitely be back!!! read more

Totally loved the food here. They gave a generous portion of fried plantains for $4 unlike the guanacos pupuseria in UW. I was looking for a place that has fried plantains.. and glad I found this place. The ambience is cozy and warm.. will go again. read more

We swung into Mojito on a Friday night for dinner. The place was busy, but we had no wait for a table. The interior is festive and the vibe is good. It can get a bit loud, but it's not overbearing. Lots of interesting choices on the menu, none of which I could pronounce. I had one of the chicken dishes and my girlfriend went for an eggplant dish. This food is not jut glopped onto a plate (typical rice, beans, entrée), there were nice little extras (plantains, a few olives, some other things I could not readily identify) that made it a much more interesting meal. The Venezuelan guacamole-like sauce was amazing. Overall, the experience was very good. They had a handful of Mexican beers available. Recommended! (Note that it can be a bit tricky to get to - it's right before southbound Lake City Way goes into the tunnel at 11th Ave NE. If you are at all directionally challenged, Google it first: http://g.co/maps/drwk9 ) read more

Great Find! We had driven by this place a few times and after checking out yelp we decided to give it a try. We loved it. We started with drinks a Mojito for him and a Tucan for me. We really enjoyed them. The owner who was taking care of us told us they only use fresh fruit and fruit juices, no pre-made mixes and believe me you can tell the difference. Next we shared arepas one beef and one ham & cheese. Both were crisp pockets overflowing with goodness. I would go back just for these. For our entrees I had Pescado en Guiso which was tender grilled white fish with tomato, green olives and a whole lot of other love that melted in my mouth. Hubby had the Cuban Sandwich and he loved it. I tasted it and it was fantastic, very authentic. I cannot wait to come back here and will do so next weekend as a matter of fact and I encourage anyone contemplating to do so as well. You will not be disappointed. read more

To be fair I would give this place a 2.5 overall. It wasn't horrible, but it was not impressive. , either. Firstly , I would say that the food is waaay over priced. Going off of the reviews, I was looking forward to the mojito ...which was pretty strong ..however it was too bland for my taste. Definitely was not memorable. The main dishes had good flavor mostly , but mine was very salty. My bf had fried plantains with his and they were terrible. I would say the best part of it all was the appetizer...it was shredded pork in a corn tortilla thing and oh wow that was bomb. I would come back just for that , but I would skip dinner. this place does have potential to be better. read more

The waitress and manager were super friendly. But the food was spectacular. The steak was perfectly marinated and the side dishes were full of flavor too. The portion was good sized. I'll go back the next time I visit Seattle. read more

Food was fantastic. The service was excellent. We say outside, and it was very pleasant. One of the owners came out to meet us, and make sure we enjoyed our experience. This was a particularly nice touch. read more

First time at this spot tonight. Friendly, effective service, delish cocktail and yummy food. I will go back to try different items on the menu! read more

I know, 3-stars doesn't look good, but it's better than 2 or 1. Look, this place has weird parking issues, service was extremely slow, and the food was just okay. Small as this place is, it's not located on the most convenient of locations to get to. Once I got there, parking was a pain even though the lunch hour crowd was gone. My work unit met here for lunch one afternoon and I don't think we'll be coming back. At least, not as a whole unit. While the server was friendly in seating us and taking our orders, there must've been something going on in the back because our lunch hour was nearly over by the time we got our food. I know that typically a place will wait until most of everybody's food is ready to go, but this wasn't the case. Our boss got his lunch way before the rest of us and was nearly done by the time the another person got her dish. Other than another table of two or three, our group of seven was the only one there. Still, this place gets the "A-Ok" star rating because of the flavors in the food and the friendliness of the hostess/server. I just wished the food had arrived a little quicker and more evenly. I'm definitely willing to give Mojito another chance, but not sure when. read more

Have to try the oxtail soup it is finger licking good. I have tried this from different places and none compare to these guys

Four of us went to the U Dist. Location. Fabulous Mojitos. the Pollo a la Parilla was the best chicken I had ever tasted, period. Smoky, moist but fully cooked. The steak a la parilla was incredibly tasty, although it was a bit done for medium rare. Best of all was the mojitos. This lightweight had a second one! Seemed very reasonably priced for value received in terms of portion size and quality. read more

get a mojito here, and a pepito sandwich. this place is awesome and mellow.

Yummy yummy YUMMY!! Their food is fantastic!! . My favorite is the Parrila Mojito with a side Ensalada Mojito but I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu!! The restaurant is quaint and decorated in a way that almost makes you feel as though you are dining in Latin America. This is a must try for my fellow foodies. read more

Looked forward to the casual Cuban flare, but got half of the experience. My husband and I knew how casual the ambiance was going to be like from looking it up on yelp and indeed it was casual and small, but colorful and lively. We were the only ones in initially(which we were happy to be since we'd thought we'd get tons of one-on-one service) tonight for belated Valentine's dinner . The waiter, Juan, was nice and friendly and immediately asked us for our drink order. Got 2 mojitos right away. Really good stuff, but tooooo much ice. Fresh taste though. We then asked for the appetizer platter and got it 5 minutes after placing the order. We were pleasantly surprised on the timing, but then figured out why...all of the yummy-looking stuff was pre-heated :( The tostones, yuca and sweet plantains were room temperature. They had 3 cooks and only serving us at the time and it was all preheated?!!?!? SOO DISAPPOINTED!!! I'm from Puerto Rico (neighbor to Cuba) and grew up eating/cooking Cuban/PR food all my life and was really disappointed in seeing how it was served so fast since normally things like those take at least 10 minutes to fry and plate. The appetizer was pretty big in size for 2 people and the garlic sauce was super yummy not to mention it was plated nicely, but how far does that go when it tastes like fried left-overs?? :( Didn't bring it up to the waiter 'cause we didn't want to be "Those people". So now we're kinda hesitant to order entrees, but figured to give it a shot. By this point the restaurant has gotten packed (20 mins into our dinner).Husband ordered a Bistec a Caballo (Steak on Horseback)- Huge portion size! Came with a side of tostones and yuca (Same left-overs taste/temp) but the steak was great; served with fried egg and congri rice. I ordered Berenjena (Eggplant) in Coconut sauce; included congri rice, tostones and yuca. Pretty good. Real hot and tender vegetables- except the sides of course. Enjoyed the entrees (though a tad pricey). Good service, but restaurant lacking in a few major points :( Also, the menus actually looked filthy- Mojito's please clean them/update them :( Wish I could rate it higher because the place has lots of potential and great entrees. read more

The drinks are ok but overpriced; the food is ok; but I've heard these guys be really mean to their staff. There is a reason why some people comment on poor wait staff and it's not the fault of the young kids they hire or the cooks in the kitchen. You make your own judgement if you want to support such a group of proprietors. read more

Food was amazing, drinks are very good. Love the atmosphere, but not the place to go if you want a quiet dinner. Overall lots of fun and great food. read more

Used to come here often but have always had pretty slow service. Recently took us about an hour to get food and had to flag down the one server to get drinks on multiple occasions. They seemed to have raised prices and plates are now about $17 and drinks are $7+.... The portions were smaller and they even forgot a few main parts of our plates. I'm less excited about this place now and will probably go to Coa instead where I get the same food, same amazing service every time. read more

Great Latin food in Seattle. In this part of the country, anything but Mexican food is very slim pickings. Mojito delivers on authentic, no frills, lots of flavor food. They have some menu items that reflect fusion in the PNW, I chose to avoid these, as I was looking for good Latin food. The steak and the chicken here are top notch, good job on the rice and beans as well. If you are looking for good food, good flavor hole in the wall type of place this is for you. read more

This place is so amazing. The service is wonderful and the food is extraordinary! We got the ceviche as an appetizer and I have never had better. We tried various fish dishes which were also so good. My mouth is watering thinking about it right now. Try both the green and red sauces, yum! I can't wait to go back. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in the greater Washington area... I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. If I show up though please leave so I can have a seat or invite me to your table, this is a very small place and the best food around, my suggestion, order anything it is all great. read more

I've only been here twice but the food is great! It is a little small, but they have outdoor seating for warmer weather. You get a good size meal there, so even if it is a little pricey you're getting a lot of food, and the plantains are AWESOME! You can easily drive past this place, but it is definitely worth stopping and trying out! read more

I think Mojito Cafe is a close tie with ZigZag for the best Mojitos in town. I love the food too! I usually order the Pescado en Guiso. It's delicious. It's white fish with tomatoes and capers, and it's super flavorful, but not too heavy. The tostones are really good - nice and crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. They make authentic Pisco sours here too (with Chilean Pisco) and those are really hard to come by in this city! I used to go to the U District location fairly often, and I'm so sad to hear that they closed:( read more

The pisco sours here are excelentes, and the place is colorful, vibrant and fun. Haven't tried the food yet, but it sure smelled good.

I was an ardent fan of Mojito..until recently. I went with a friend this weekend and was disappointed to find out that, with the change in ownership 6 months ago, there has also been a change in the preparation of food. While the menu remains the same, the product is vastly different and, in my opinion, far inferior. This is my plea to the owners to go back to the old preparations and ingredients (including the much beloved mojito sauce) read more

Exceptional food, great service, fast, super friendly every time, great ambiance, fun and quirky location. In my opinion in of the best little restraunts in Seattle. read more

Awesome restaurant with so many flavorful and yummy dishes! My kids are usually picky and don't prefer the non-chain resturants. They loved their dish so much they even ate our food! Since we don't live in Seattle, we even ordered items to go for the next day! We will definately be back! We all got different dishes and each and every one of them had great flavors that you can't find anywhere aroud here.....Yum...can't wait to go back! read more

Mojito is fabulous! I typically come in for a few drinks and the mojito is amazing... I haven't bothered trying anything else. The food here is delicious and the portions are good. I've come here to have a girls night, a bachelorette pre-funk, an most recently a 60th birthday. The owners and staff are very accommodating and personable. The food is relatively quick and presented well with unique flavors. Mojito is great in the summer if you're lucky enough to get an outdoor seat but also cozy on the rainy nights. Simply put mojito is amazing and I'm always telling friends to come have a great night out here! read more

This restaurant remains my favorite food, drink, and service destination in Seattle. The best margaritas I've had anywhere and mojitos with don q rum! Faaaabulous! Go with no agenda but a great evening. It isn't fast...but well worth the wait! read more

Cannot believe we didn't try this place sooner. The food is sooooo good. The pabellon and steak were both amazing plates, and the pescado frito was very good too. The mojitos are amazing and the drink selection is great overall. The maduro and tostones were an awesome addition, and the rice and beans were wonderful! The ensalada de palomito was very good too. The waiter is super nice, although I do feel a bit like you're supposed to be a member of a special club to enter, for some reason. I liked how many customers were speaking Spanish -- made my husband and I feel very comfortable -- like we were back in South Texas or Ecuador (where we're from). The restaurant is crazy small though and it's awful to have to wait for seating when you have an anxious toddler, so we've only been at random off-the-wall times, just in case. Love that they have high chairs. Can't wait to sit outside in nice weather! read more

Awesome food and cute little place. It reminded me of my study abroad in Costa Rica. Very authentic and delicious!

This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. I tried a new dish the first five or six times I went and always loved it. I don't know how they do rice and beans so well, and their guacamole is great. Super attentive service and the owner is a great guy. read more

Absolutely.Wonderful. I had a fish dish that was marinated perfectly. I plopped one of the juicy tomatoes in my mouth and about fell over. I had no idea tomatoes could taste so wonderful. I had a mango Batida to drink -- made with FRESH-- pureed mango. I watched him do it, and watched the just slightly heavy pour. The most divine drink. Trust me, get it. You will not be disappointed. My partner thought I was exaggerating until I urged him to try what I had. SOOOOOO blissful. We had a weird interaction with the server when we ordered and at the end I stacked our plates, a habit from having worked in the restaurant industry. I think he thought he had done us wrong. When presenting the bill we were told our drinks were on the house. Wow. Sure it was a little awkward but I was not expecting that kind of treatment for a little place like that. Very kind of him. Please go, and when you do order the mango Batida, the last fish dish on the left, and tip big. Price was a little on the higher end- but considering the quality of the food it was very worth it. I don't think I have had food that good in years and I am certain I paid much much more for it. read more
