Often said to be the best kept secret in Colbert. That may or may not be saying a lot. Worth coming out to decide for ones self though.

This is probably the best bar on fry. You won't only find your college drinkers here but also…read morelocals. My favorite dive bar with the least pretentious people. They have great deals like 2 dollar doubles. You can grab a table inside or outside and subject yourself to bar games like giant connect four, corn hole, and pool. Most of the bartenders and staff are great. If you come here at night any day from Thursday - Saturday expect a wait at the bar. I've had one weird experience here. My friend called me to meet her at Lucky Lou's. I had just gone through the Taco Bell drive thru but decided to go in bring me food in (which is allowed.) I hadn't had one drink and I had been eating at a table for 10 minutes and someone working there came up to me and told me I can't have anymore drinks. It's was very odd. I wasn't even acting drunk I was literally sitting at a table eating Taco Bell talking with my friend. Anyway a couple of my friends kept buying me shots after that and they didn't kick me out so there's that. So just beware of some snarky workers. Definitely start your night here and end your night here if you're doing a fry crawl! This bar will always have a crowd.

They wouldn't let me in but wouldn't give my state issued real ID back for me to leave until someone else verified that it was real, and even then they weren't competent enough to figure out how to tell a real from a fake. They caused a scene and wouldn't give me my real ID back until we threatened to call the police on them since I couldn't make it home without it. The bouncer looked like a dear in headlights when we brought up cops and finally got a second opinion enough for me to get my actual state issued real ID back and STILL WOULD NOT LET US IN. I understand being a stickler for rules, bet your staff should be intelligent enough to know the difference between real and fake IDs without going through my phone....

After graduating, I moved back to Dallas and reconnected with some high school friends who all attended UNT and from them, I had always heard them rave about Fry Street but never experienced it until Halloween and it was pretty chill. We started off the night at Cool Beans Bar & Grill. Within this particular bar, I loved that the staff and everyone were dressed up in costumes for Halloween, which added to the festive atmosphere. The bar offers both indoor and outdoor seating, giving it a relaxed and versatile vibe. My friends ordered food and drinks, which were really affordable. The food itself seemed like no-frills, classic bar bites-exactly what you need for a fun college night out. Especially to start the night off or something to get to sober up. The drinks were solid, and we enjoyed hanging out before making our way down the strip. Fry Street is definitely different from what I'm used to, but I think it's such a cool, close-knit spot. Even though it's small from what I'm used to, Fry Street and its bars, including Cool Beans, will help you get to where you want to be for a fun night out. This bar definitely suits well within the Denton culture and it's a pretty decent bar, perfect for college students.
