For our first time ever trying Moe's I must say I should have checked the reviews first. The one individual working asked if we were picking up I said "no" and instantly got an attitude lol I was ruining her day. The food is really expensive for the portion size you get and it's not great at all. I ordered a burrito with ground beef and instantly regretted it once I saw the scoop of what looked like sloppy Joe in a can go onto the tortilla. My wife got a bowl with chicken which tasted old and dry. The place I will say seemed pretty clean but overall we're definitely not retrying this location. read more

This is a pretty solid Moe's Southwest Grill they got over here in Hackettstown. I used to think Moe's was the owner's name or something but it turns out that it's an acronym for Musicians Outlaws and Entertainers which makes me like this place even more. Plus that explains the concept menu which includes plenty of buzz words taken from famous pop culture driven situations.   My all time favorite menu item that this place offers has got to be the "Homewrecker" Burrito which gets it's name from an episode of Seinfeld. It's probably the biggest dang Burrito you can Shake Hands with from any of these chain type places.    Last time I was here I ordered the Chicken version of the "Homewrecker" Burrito and it definitely did not disappoint. It was full of Diced Chicken, Seasoned Rice, Black Beans, Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Jalapeños, Cilantro, Sour Cream, and Guacamole. I mean it doesn't get any better than that does it?   But wait there's even MORE Moe's with their Free Chips and Salsa Bar. Now it doesn't get any better than that!! This Moe's restaurant is pure trash. Dining in at this Moe's location is like trying to get excited to shop at Sears or Kmart in 2018- sad, and full of lament where you ask yourself "Why in the heck did I even walk through this venue's doors?" I absolutely hate witnessing a franchise make the brand seem as if it is dying. That was my overall impression of Moe's Southwest Grill of Hackettstown, NJ. First off, there was no "Welcome to Moe's" greeting at 7PM on a Thursday night. The employees (half of them teenagers) seemed as if they wanted to be somewhere else. No energy whatsoever. The employees that should've been bussing tables were sitting down behind the counter talking about what they wanted to do on their second job. Yeah, really. The food quality of a Homewrecker burrito wasn't bad, yet anything tastes good when you load it up with guacamole, pico de galo, and onions. The chicken was a tad dry tonight, but whatever. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. There were so many tables that had garbage underneath it, on top of chairs, and remains of hot sauce on top of the eating space. The nonchalance of the employees that weren't motivated to buss these tables was just unbelievable. Unsanitary, and disgusting. I honestly can't believe that I turned down the chance to eat the very "fine cuisine" from Taco Bell down the street in comparison to eating in a restaurant pig pen like Moe's. At least Taco Bell is cleaner on the inside. Funeral taps for this Moe's Southwest Grill location will be played at 8:00 PM. The homewrecker jr is a smaller burrito than the standard that comes with guacamole. The homewrecker costs 10.99. The jr. Burrito costs 8.99. The cashier wanted to charge me 11.16 for a JR burrito, she said the guacamole costs extra. That is a lie, the guac comes with the burrito. They do not know their own menu. The other attendant said sorry i changed the price in the computer but not on the sign. He has no intention of changing the sign since they both are sitting on their phones doing nothing now. Extremely friendly and giving folk work here. The restaurant is never that busy and seems sort staffed as it is the same people I see every time. They have given my son a free cookie and juice a few times when going there and have been very accommodating to some of our orders. I've seen them closed on days they should be open, but I attribute that to the sort staff and lack of customers. The food is consistent and on par with what you'd expect from a Moe's. read more

The food was bland and messed with my belly all night. Everything was dry, the pinto beans were undercooked, and mostly everything looked like it had been there for a long time. I went in around 12:30 yesterday, Monday. The trays for the food smelled like wet nasty dog and the place just looked so dirty. I didn't even finish my food it was so gross. I have eaten at this Moe's before several months ago and it was not so bad but jeez I regret going yesterday. I will not be going back at all for fear that I will get food poisoning. Also the guy at the register, I think he was the manager or owner, kept my change. Ignored me when I tried to say something about it. It was only 19¢ but I just find that completely unprofessional. Good food and well made yummy quesadillas. Customer service isn't always their specialty, but the food and location is ideal for a treat of ordering to go and takeout as a nice option. They offer free chips and a little salsa bar which is nice. The john costocan quesadilla is my go too. Very delicious. read more

About a year or so ago , Moe's stopped allowing you to order your food and pay for it in the restaurant If you wished to take advantage of Moe's Monday discount Now you have to place your order and pay on line. when I used this new method, they would never honor their Moe's Monday discount. Recently they have been sending emails with $3 off orders of $10 or more. When I have tried to use this discount, I have been told there's an error and I have no discount. I have contacted the company there times and have been told basically "Sorry." If you don't mind dealing with a company that totally lacks integrity, then this is the restaurant for you read more

This location has only been open for months and its filthy. Booth seats are broken when you sit down they come up from the back. The area where the food is displayed looks like it hasnt been cleaned in a week. Food was room temp. not warm. Rice looks like its been sitting there for days. Service was horrible. Workers at the counter had no personality and not friendly. I tried the chicken bowl. $10 . Same price i would pay at Chipotle and it is a 1/4 of the food. If I could give this Moe's no stars, I would. This is without a doubt the worst Moe's on the planet. The problem is I love Moe's. So I keep giving this location another try, and it always disappoints me. A normal Moe's burrito will fill me up so much that I can barely eat the whole thing. This locations burritos are so small if you don't get extra meat, that I could definitely eat 2. Everything you ask for is also going to be extra. There is a billboard on 46 in great Meadows advertising "burrito Monday " FOR THIS LOCATION, AND THEY DON'T DO BURRITO MONDAY!!!!!!! Every single time I come here I hope they finally get it right and yet, every single time, they fail miserably. The meat is almost always dry and they give you the tiniest serving, as if they only cooked one batch for the whole day and have to ration it out. Service is sub par at best. You'll find no smiles and no greetings here. The least your staff could do is know what ingredients come with the standard bowl, burrito or taco on your menu; Not stand there and ask what I want while hastily throwing in the wrong ingredients (cause you were in a rush and not listening) and hope I add extras so you can up-charge me on already overpriced food. As if that wasn't bad enough, all I got were blank stares when I asked for the lime wedges that were supposed to be included with my meal. To which the Manager shuffles over and aggressively points at what were clearly lemon wedges by the salsas. "Oh, We don't have those here." was his response when I had to reiterate "LIMES not LEMONS"... (Apparently management has no idea the difference between a lemon and a lime...) I have to agree with the other reviewers. I actually really do enjoy Moe's. They have another location in Flemington and Branchburg that are great. I have no idea what went wrong with this one. I gave in to my kids and said we will give it another try. Bad mistake. A worker and manager (owner?) were outside smoking as we walked into the restaurant. There were two other workers inside. The other workers took our order and started to make our food. Other customers came in so the guys taking their smoke break came inside to help out. They reeked of smoke. They didn't wash their hands at all. One put on gloves to start making food then would hand the food to the other guy to bag it. It was gross. If you must smoke don't do it in front of your store so I have to smell it to walk inside and wash your hands after you take your break. I hope you wash after your bathroom break. read more

Overload you with rice and beans with only two and three pieces of meat.
