A pleasant surprise while in town for a game. Wasn't expecting to find an authentic Mexican place in town. A cute little place. Stop by for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't super busy. The food tasted fresh and authentic. We ordered the steak tacos and the nice man allowed us to mix and match the carnitas and the al pastor. Our fave were the carnitas and al pastor. Both were very flavorful. The steak was ok but nothing special. We also enjoyed the complimentary homemade chips. The accompanying green and orange sauces were so delicious. Green was tasty but the orange one was quite spicy. So eaters beware. If in town, you should definitely swing by.

Paid $18 for chicken soup that was horrible. It's broth and undercooked chicken leg and a few veggies $18 and tastes bland. Service was bad. The forgot to put the soup and then we had to wait 30min. Got flan for dessert $6. It was pre packaged and similar to what you can buy for $1.50. It also seemed spoiled. Tacos were ok nothing worth the price.

Located conveniently in a strip mall in Chester. Have ordered from here multiple times over the last month! Their food is always super fresh and on point. We've tried... - Al pastor tacos - chorizo tacos - carnitas tacos - steak tacos - carnitas torta - chicken nachos Everything is fantastic. Our favorites would have to be the carnitas tacos and torta. Melt in your mouth pork and they don't skimp on the meat. The tacos come in sets of 5 and comes with a salsa verde and smoky hot sauce which is FIRE. So so good. They should bottle it and sell it.

Excellent authentic food, sauces and flavor.

Great authentic food and flavor! Came here after visiting the local alstead farm. Fast service and cozy ambiance.

We stumbled upon this place after going to a farm up there and it was empty so we were able to get a seat right away. The server was really nice and super helpful and they give you free candy- but that's about as much as I liked from the experience. We order a guacamole that looked more like salsa than anything else, super watery and runny. I got a burrito- super duper dry and it took forever for them to make it. Honestly I enjoyed the free lollipop more than the actual meal. Sad.

Small taco joint in a strip mall. Food was delicious, would definitely be a regular spot for anyone that lives in that area.

    Loaded nachos... I mean loaded!

OMG... Authentic Mexican food in Chester NJ! We tried the restaurant when it opened in January, and have been regulars to it ever since. I'm writing this review after a couple of dozen takeout orders and a few in-person visits. The food it phenomenal... it's a 'from scratch kitchen' and it's FRESH. I love the nachos... chicken or beef, they come loaded to a point where you'll find ourself asking for extra chips to finish all the toppings. Another thing to have with those wonderful home made chips is the salsa verde... it's got fresh avocados in there for an amazing taste and mouth feel. The crispy tostadas with chicken tinga is always a crowd pleaser. The chipotle with adobo shines in this dish. The tacos with the freshly made tortillas are a sure thing... try the longaniza - their spicy sausage version. This brings me to their torta... it's a good group! These freshly made Mexican paninis are amazing and I've found myself making excuses to grab one on the go. Your choice or meats, with avocados, pickled jalapeños and other goodies make this one of my favorites. Long story short... it's a must try if you live in Chester, driving through, or just searching for good Mexican food. Enjoy!

Food was OK at best. The people were friendly so I would try it again but I think Aztec in Chester is better.

Last night 05/22 we had delicious seafood ceviche followed by chunky guacamole (side dish), chicken fajitas and a burrito the size of a house brick (it would feed four people ...and the leftovers in our 'fridge will do it for us !) Food: I ordered their Cajun chicken quesadillas, which not only felt strangely authentic because of the style preparation, but it's the first time I've ever seen someone season the tortilla which I loved. Aesthetic: lots of seating both inside and outside, pretty simple set up. Service: having multiple people come to the table and help grab things, give us water, and provide us with the food was nice. Felt like a well oiled machine.

Shrimp tacos - tender seasoned shrimp served on fresh corn tortillas and a spicy sauce on the side were excellent. The steaks - one medium rare ribeye was surprisingly lean, but tender and flavorful and was beautifully cooked. The filet ordered medium came somewhere between rare and medium rare. But it was tender as expected (it is prime filet after all). Asparagus side was phenomenal. Shoestring fries came out crisp but oddly room temp. Sea bass dish was good, but the menu description failed to adequately describe the ingredients. The steaks were typical upscale steakhouse, but I guess I was hoping for a more Mexican-inspired flare when it came to the sauces or sides. Service was well-coordinated and available and friendly and efficient. The area that was lacking was the knowledge of the food. No one knew what was in the sauce that accompanied the shrimp tacos. It's okay not to know perhaps, but say I don't know and go find out. Also requested information about the dishes was lacking, particularly when it came to food allergies which one person in our party had.

The bartender guided us on the drink options and offered suggestions, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the spicy margarita, which was delicious. We then were seated up stairs (the decor and ambiance of this place is beautiful!). They provide complimentary chips and salsa (my fav). The owner came by to apologize for the wait, which really wasn't terrible, and offered us two free tacos on the house. They were delicious! One chicken and one beef. We ordered the toca vez salad and plantain and coconut shrimp sushi (UNREAL!). Both were delicious but the plantain starter was heavenly. I ordered the scallop risotto. Delicious! My husband ordered the salmon and it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cooked to perfection!! The waitress knew we were celebrating and provided up to complimentary champagnes and ice cream. One of the best dining experiences. Can't wait to come back to try more!

I opted for the online order and it was ready just when it was promised. The entire order was packaged perfectly, and there were no issues when I opened it I ordered the steak quesadilla with onions and it was very good. It had a slight kick, but as someone who doesn't tolerate spiciness very well, it was just enough for me. Tacoria, which was one of the earliest participants in this recent trend, offers tasty, made-to-order TexMex cuisine in a trendy, fast-casual cafeteria-style ambiance. The cozy dining area, which is open to South Street when the weather is cooperative, only offers about a dozen tables for two or four diners, so it may be difficult to get seating during peak times. On several visits, we've had to stand around awkwardly holding our food while waiting for other diners to finish their meals and relinquish their table for us. After placing your order at the counter from the menu that allows you to build-your-own burritos, bowls, street tacos, salads, or nachos -- all of which is cooked to order -- grab a seat at one of the tables in the dining area and wait for your pager to buzz and let you know your meal is ready to be picked up. The service is very good with counterstaff that's very knowledgeable about the menu and terrific at making whatever accommodations a diner may require (vegetarian, lactose free, etc.). I'm a fan of the Burrito - Al Pastor ($12.50), comprised of ground marinated pork served with black beans, seasoned rice, and salsa in a grilled flour tortilla.. but I was surprised that my entree did not come with even a small portion of complimentary tortilla chips. My dining companion enjoyed her salad topped with marinated grilled chicken ($11), sliced avocado, black beans, pico de gallo, and cheese on a bed of romaine lettuce and topped with a pineapple lime dressing. There's a handful of complimentary homemade hot sauces - which range from mild verde to spicy habenero -- as well as several varieties of Cholula and Tabasco available (and small 'to go' containers if you're planning to dine elsewhere) if you want to kick things up a notch - and a Coca-Cola fountain machine offering unlimited refills of the basic Coca-Cola options (Coke, Diet Coke, etc.) if you've overdone it with the complimentary hot sauces. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Tacoria doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Street. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, the Morristown Parking Authority DeHart Street garage (@ 13 Dehart Street) or lot (@ 12 Wilmot Street) are a short walk to Tacoria.
