The food and services were great. The small dinner was a great environment to unwind after a long day of work.

I was craving Mexican food and in the area so I decided to try Azteca Mexican Restaurant. My brother and his wife having been coming her for years, and whenever I mention Mexican food they tell me to try Azteca Mexican Restaurant. It's on the corner of Blackwell Street and Morris Street in Dover. Everything here is freshly made. I watched the cook prepare everything from scratch. I knew when I walked in and saw some of the menu in Spanish, I was in for a treat. My server Daniella was very friendly and soft spoken. She immediately served a basket of homemade tortilla chips and two kinds of dipping sauces. One was green and tasted medium hot like a salsa verde. The other sauce was red and had a bit more heat. Both sauces were delicious, and I couldn't stop eating them. After looking over the menu( in both English and Spanish) I decided on some fresh guacamole with lots of cilantro. I like that I could have my own little Molcajete.( pronounced (mo-heca meaning lava type bowl or mortar.) My sister-in-law doesn't like cilantro and we each were able to get our own. The guacamole was very fresh and I could taste, as well as see the fresh avocado ,lime juice, and cilantro along with the spices. For my lunch choice I went with CHICKEN ENCHILADAS VERDE in a green sauce.) I happen to like spicy food, and my server Daniella pointed out that this dish has a bit of spice. For me it was perfect. Not too hot, with just the right amount of heat. My dish came with 4 enchiladas, topped with shredded lettuce, onions, sour cream, and cheese. Yellow rice and refried beans came on the side. I love salsa verde and this dish was excellent. I took half home because I ate so many tortilla chips and sauce. My sister-in-law ordered the BEEF TACOS. Her dish came with 3 soft shelled tacos filled with beef, lettuce, onions, ( no cheese for her.) She got sliced avocado instead of tomatoes. This dish also was served with yellow rice and refried beans, it too was thoroughly enjoyed. Azteca Mexican Restaurant serves Mexican sodas, flavored waters, milkshakes, coffee, flavored teas, regular sodas. They get a lot of locals and workers from the area so they have takeout. I saw a man at the counter order a big bowl of their beef soup. It was loaded with meat and veggies and looked really good and hearty. The decor is simple, nothing fancy. There is a small dining room with a few tables and chairs , counter seating, and several booths for eating in. I can see why my brother comes here. The people are all very nice, and the food is authentic Mexican and prices are decent. This restaurant ONLY TAKES CASH. There is parking on the street, during the day it can get very busy. This place is definitely worth a try.

Nice little small restaurant with good food and great service. I had the Enchiladas Verdes with beef. Very tasty and filling. This is a definite must visit when in the area. They have very authentic items on their menu!! Chips are homemade!!!

Tried their chicken verde Tamales and it was worth a try. Spicy and truly delicious. The price is also very reasonable. 1st time when I tried tamales at a different location, it was very disappointing but after trying this, I think I'll go there again and won't be afraid to try tamales next time. Please note that this a cash only restaurant. They also have plenty of seating space and no booking required!

Authentic Mexican food for sure! A bit of a hole in the wall and only accepts cash...but that doesn't bother me at all. Love hole in the wall places! The chips and salsa is soooo good, I always appreciate a good salsa and they give you two salsas here! I've had the tacos, burritos, guac, and enchiladas with salsa verde mmm. The service is good and the food is always really tasty. Plus there is usually parking in the area so that's a plus too. Overall great food and very good prices and service. I will be back again!

Solid food. Not super cheap, but good food. Their chips are super crispy, i could eat a giant bag of them. The Enchiladas are good, but what makes this place amazing is their green sauce! I wanted to lick my plate!

The cashier knew the menu, so he knew to clarify if I wanted a taco platter or just three tacos. They handed me a beeper so I wouldn't have to stand in a crowd. But the ingredients didn't come through. My tacos had cilantro, raw onion, a guacamole sauce, and steak - pretty classic, standard combination. Unfortunately the steak was of middling quality - easily worse than Chipotle's, which is a good standard - and I didn't feel the flavor either. On top of that the hard shells were all stale. I guess I'll try the newly opened Cuban Eddie's the next time I'm at the mall.

I placed an online order for pickup from Lola's recently and ordered the Grilled Chicken Soft Tacos ($12 plus tax) served with Mexican rice and black beans. The place was very busy when I arrived. When they got to my order, I watched the cook prepare the sizzling chicken on the grill, similar to a hibachi grill and make my 3 soft tacos. The grilled chicken soft tacos had tender pieces of grilled chicken, cilantro and onions in warm double wrap corn tortillas and limes and verde sauce on the side. The Mexican rice was cooked firm and not mushy. The black beans were cooked firm too. The flavors of the food were pretty good.

My wife loved her margarita and our food was pretty decent (my burrito had an excessive amount of onions which I should have asked for none, but that's my mistake). The waiter asked us for our drink orders which was fine (Seltzer). Then we went to order the food and the waiter never asked the other two people I was with what they wanted. The complimentary chips and sauce which was not salsa but more of a crema blend was ok but the chips were not salted and not fresh. Probably fried the day before. The guacamole came out cold and unflavored (no salt lime or cilantro). So we cancelled the order and told them we would pay for the drinks and the guacamole but they left us sitting there with out a bill. So we added what the items cost and left $20 for the things we did receive but did not like. They did not seem to know how to handle the disappointed customers.... so unless you like flavorless Mexican food I would not waste your time. There are better places to go in Dover for good authentic Mexican food.
