La Bamba has been a place I've wanted to try for quite a while. This Mexican restaurant moved into what was the Dover Diner a few years ago, from their original location on Blackwell Street. I had been to the diner a few years ago, and this is a huge improvement! The festive Mexican decor just makes you feel happy. We started with fresh guacamole. Our entrees included Enchiladas with green sauce, Carne Asada, and Tacos de Carnitas. We all thought the food was excellent! Service was very friendly. We all enjoyed La Bamba and will definitely be back!

So many options to choose from and very affordable dishes! Their guacamole and chips taste freshly made. Their staff are very friendly and attentive. Truly worth visiting!

Happy Anniversary La Bamba Grill. Can't believe it's been 1 year since they opened up and man time sure flies when you're having fun - and stuffing your face. Yup, I've been lucky enough to be stuffing my face FULL of some of the best authentic Mexican Food around. Plus they also serve up just about anything that your hungry for. Burgers & Fries to Eggs & Bacon & Fries. What? I Like Fries Okay. Whenever I describe La Bamba Grill to anyone who'll listen to me, I just tell'em that it's like eating at a Jersey Diner that just happens to specialize in Amazingly Delicious Mexican food. You can grab tasty breakfasts, lunches, & dinners here at any time of the day or night and that's basically because their business hours are from 6am to 2am daily. So whenever you're feeling hungry just head on over to La Bamba Grill, that's what I do. Check'em out and I'll probably see you over there ;) Come And Get Your Munch On!!

canned tomato sauce "fresh" salsa in the middle

This is my third time dining here in the past 6 months. The good: friendly service, modest prices, clean The not so good: the "fresh" salsa is obviously made with canned tomato sauce. the corn tortillas are the chalky-tasting store bought Goya kind. Not fresh! No longer an option for outdoor dining. The person I believe was either the owner/manager was not wearing a mask. Fortunately, he was sitting about 20 feet away. I went here last week and lo and behold once again did not have tamales. Apparently they only make them on Saturdays. I've been here on a Saturday and they did not have any. (the third time was not the charm.) What's the use of having them on the menu when you never have any available? I had the menudo which was real tasty and tender. Still, it was a downer that they (kitchen) refused to serve it with the tender corn kernels (hominy). I guess they can open cans of tomato sauce and goya tortilla packages but not any cans of hominy.

La Bamba was originally located on Blackwell Street and was one of the businesses devastated by the big Dover fire from a year ago. The new location on 46 is larger with lots of free parking. Easy to get in and out. Food is good with great prices. I've been there a few times and enjoyed what I ate each time.

Excellent authentic Mexican dishes. Food has amazing flavor. Great size dishes. Large menu with affordable prices. Plenty of seating for large families. The staff are extremely friendly and speak both English and Spanish. I really enjoying this restaurant.

The food is okay. But the delivery drive is is reckless. He hit and ran my dog. And the guy never apologized.

The cashier knew the menu, so he knew to clarify if I wanted a taco platter or just three tacos. They handed me a beeper so I wouldn't have to stand in a crowd. But the ingredients didn't come through. My tacos had cilantro, raw onion, a guacamole sauce, and steak - pretty classic, standard combination. Unfortunately the steak was of middling quality - easily worse than Chipotle's, which is a good standard - and I didn't feel the flavor either. On top of that the hard shells were all stale. I guess I'll try the newly opened Cuban Eddie's the next time I'm at the mall.

I placed an online order for pickup from Lola's recently and ordered the Grilled Chicken Soft Tacos ($12 plus tax) served with Mexican rice and black beans. The place was very busy when I arrived. When they got to my order, I watched the cook prepare the sizzling chicken on the grill, similar to a hibachi grill and make my 3 soft tacos. The grilled chicken soft tacos had tender pieces of grilled chicken, cilantro and onions in warm double wrap corn tortillas and limes and verde sauce on the side. The Mexican rice was cooked firm and not mushy. The black beans were cooked firm too. The flavors of the food were pretty good.

My wife loved her margarita and our food was pretty decent (my burrito had an excessive amount of onions which I should have asked for none, but that's my mistake). The guy serving us at the bar (I am note sure if he is the owner) was super cool and constantly checked in on us while he was busy.

The waiter asked us for our drink orders which was fine (Seltzer). Then we went to order the food and the waiter never asked the other two people I was with what they wanted. The complimentary chips and sauce which was not salsa but more of a crema blend was ok but the chips were not salted and not fresh. Probably fried the day before. The guacamole came out cold and unflavored (no salt lime or cilantro). So we cancelled the order and told them we would pay for the drinks and the guacamole but they left us sitting there with out a bill. So we added what the items cost and left $20 for the things we did receive but did not like. They did not seem to know how to handle the disappointed customers.... so unless you like flavorless Mexican food I would not waste your time. There are better places to go in Dover for good authentic Mexican food.
