I have always loved Moe's Bagels. This location is the original store. When it was the only store, I came here all the time. After the Arapahoe store opened, I found it to be more convenient as I was often in that area. Today, we had another errand in this shopping center so I got my bagels here. The Cinnamon Raisin flavor ( my absolute favorite for stand alone eating) were freshly baked and I will have one today with my lunch. For sandwiches, I usually choose pumpernickel, a flavor other brands rarely have. This store is much smaller than the other store so their service counter is designed quite differently. They write a paper order slip that you use to pay rather than wait for the bagel handler to give you the order. It moves the line more quickly in this space. By 8 am, there were families with small children already seated and eating. The other store generally serves CU students and sports adults heading out in the morning as well as seniors like us. Parking at both locations is generous, unusual for many destinations in Boulder. read more

This is such a charming and wonderful bagel spot in beautiful Boulder, CO. I loved the contrast on the menu and that many items are named after local places! I got the Mt Sanitas after doing that hike on a cinnamon raisin bagel. It was fun to try a sweet bagel with savory fillings and I enjoyed it immensely. The store itself is very clean, with natural light and local art. The door is not accessible, otherwise the rest of the restaurant appears to be! I've given Moe's so many chances but I'm over it. One of my life's simple pleasures is an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. I usually ask for extra cc. I hate when it's just mostly bagel and a little tiny spreading of cheese on top. Half the time they get it right, the other time they do not and give me the below basically empty bagel. Also unless you come in right as the bagels are hot, you're gonna get a tough and chewy piece of bread. I'm done with you, Moe's. read more

Every time someone asks me the question "if I could go back in time and undo anything, would I and what would it be?", I answer without a second doubt in my mind visit "Moe's Broadway bagel". This may seem like an extreme statement, but the guy at the counter tried to charge me $14 plus tax for the most disgusting creation that I have ever seen in my life, and I've driven down East Colfax before. I ordered chorizo on my bagel and all I can say is that it absolutely wasn't chorizo. They clearly dyed some sort of meat red and tried to pass it off as chorizo, thinking nobody would notice, but it was so bad, that I could just tell there was something wrong with it by looking at it. It looked like blended up slim Jim's mixed with a Mountain Dew code red. I was peeved out of my mind, but the fat pimply high schooler at the counter persisted that it was. It took everything in me to not teach this guy a lesson, I even reported this incident to the FDA AND CDC. I ate it anyways, gagged the whole time. I don't know why I did it, because I knew it wasn't going to end well. I spent 4 days in the ICU and am now on a waitlist to get a new liver, every day since then has been agony. read more

Service is always great and bagels are great, too. Coming from NY, I need good bagels. Always get an onion bagel, toasted, with plain cream cheese. A few weeks ago, my husband got 2 onion bagels, toasted, with vegetable cream cheese. What did he come home with? It seems one was what he ordered - onion bagel, toasted, with vegetable cream cheese. I got a surprise! Cinnamon bagel with tuna salad!!! That was a crime! I understand everyone has a different taste, and I am sure there is someone that loves a cinnamon bagel with tuna salad. Still.... I ate tuna salad and then cinnamon bagel - separately. Interesting taste indeed. I got my fix a few mornings later before 6am. I ordered the jive turkey sandwich and it was pretty good. The turkey was really flavorful and the bagel was nice and soft. Overall it was a nice quick lunch stop. One thing is they don't take your name or give you a number when you order so when they call out your sandwich when it's busy it's hard to tell who's sandwich is who's. read more

Ah, this place is hard for me to rate. The bagels are good, the egg sandwiches but to me it's just not up to what they charge for them. I also hated that I had to stand on tippy toe to see what bagel flavors they had. Aaaggggh. Plus, as the other reviews said, there's just too much cream cheese going on there. I got the garlic herb (or similar) bagel and it slathered on thick. Plus, it's not creamy at all and stick to one side of the bagel - which I hate because I like to eat my bagel split in half and not cut down the middle like they do here. Visiting from out of town it was nice to the bagels being boiled before being baked. The old school traditional way of making bagels brings joy to my heart. They had a system where the cashier makes your order. They were fast, friendly and efficient. The bagels however didn't have that chewy center I look for in a bagel. I'm from NYC, so I'm an unintentional bagel snob. When I first moved to Boulder 25 years ago I was appalled by the fact that none of the bagel shops made decent bagels. Other bagel lovers explained to me that the problem is that the yeast doesn't rise well at altitude. So for some time I gave up on eating bagels in Boulder. Then, somewhere along the way I heard that Moe's had great bagels. I decided to give them another shot. Sure enough, they figured their way around the altitude problem, and their bagels were the equal of NYC bagels. I've been going to Moe's ever since, and that's been at least 15 years. The bagels are wonderful, the sandwiches made perfectly, and the staff competent. I recommend Moe's highly. read more

Spent the week in Boulder and got coffee here just about every morning. Lattes were amazing and the coffee ice cubes make them even better! Everyone who works there is super kind, patient, and helpful. Every time we got bagels, they were delicious and the gluten free one was greatly appreciated so I didn't have to miss out!! Over-priced and not very good. I had a sausage egg and cheese on an Italian bagel. $24 for two plus a small coffee. A bagel sandwich should never cost more than $5 each. The bagel was the best part but far from great. I removed the sausage from the sandwich because it simply wasn't good. The egg and cheese were fine. Service was fine. Preparation was fine. Great variety of cream cheeses, wide selection of bagels, usually generous portions The accuracy of the orders of the past 4 years = 1 star. I'm not sure why but they never seem to be able to get a simple order correct. They have sandwiches on their menu with all the toppings listed...yet they still seem to really have a difficult time with getting them correct (Golden Gardens aren't mythical. They're on your menu). They are extremely inconsistent and I've had to return many orders for being wrong which doubles the already hefty wait time. These aren't confusing special requests, by the way. We're talking straight from the menu orders. This has to be a result of poor training. Whatever it is, I'm done spending and wasting time and money here. I really wanted us to work out, Moe. Moe's makes the best "everything" bagel in Boulder. It's called the Italian and it's topped not only with poppy and sesame seeds (like most bagel bakeries carry), but also with rosemary, garlic, and onion. :) They also have adorable mini bagels in almost all of the flavors. Get an Italian toasted with plain cream cheese and an Americano from Spruce, and you're good to go. Also, I like that the owner seems to be working the cash register every single day. read more

The bagels taste great, but they almost always get my order wrong! They have a terrible system in place for taking orders. This usually happens when I order more than one bagel. They don't remember what cream cheese goes on which bagel and get it confused because they don't write anything down. If they had a better system in place for taking orders and paying, I would definitely give 5 stars cause when I do get the right order, the bagels taste great. read more

This place has always been hit or miss for me, their location on 30th is better. This morning I went in for a bagel and cream cheese that I could eat at work, and when I got to work realized there was hardly any cream cheese... I took a picture and went back after work, asking for a refund. The manager on duty told me I was lying, regardless of the picture, and told me that I should have immediately come back in for my refund, not 5 hours later (after work). Meh and Meh. I really want to like this place because I'm east coaster and I heart bagels, but this place just doesn't do it for me. I went here before work quite a few times and was underwhelmed each time. Everytime I ordered a bagel with some kind of cream cheese (e.g. Veggie, Jalapeno) and everytime I found the bagel to be extremely greasy. The cream cheese was actually pretty decent, but the greasy bagel I can't get over. I think the people that work there are great, I love the funky style, but I don't like the food. Take a trip to NYC guys and shadow a bagel shop for a few days. Master your bagels and I will be a longtime customer. read more

Would rate as a five star but... We love the breakfast sandwiches and go about once a weekend for quick and easy breakfast. We live in the neighborhood and can walk there in a few minutes. But after this morning we could not avoid writing a review. Our order is slightly off at least 50% of the time. It's usually a small detail like the wrong type of cheese which we can get over and eat without a complaint. But this morning we were fed up. After getting our sandwiches to go and walking home we discovered that both our sandwiches were completely wrong. So frustrating! We had to walk back and get the correct sandwiches made. The only time we have ever pointed out their mistakes and the only time I can ever remember actually returning a wrong order. I am writing this in the hopes that management will address this issue. We love Moe's and are loyal neighborhood patrons. But we want our order to be right. The system at Moe's is terrible for ordering. No one writes anything down and pretends as if they have a magical memory. Please implement a new system where your employees write down an order (not just mark the generic "type" of an order. eg. Always been a fan of Moes but they really dropped the ball at this location. Ordered a bagel with lox and a turkey sandwich. One bagel didn't have any lox in it, the tomatoes were super gross and the bagel was hardly toasted. The turkey sandwich wasn't toasted, had no mustard on it, had nasty tomatoes and barely any turkey. One of the worst orders I've received from Moe's. Everything seemed slapped on at the last minute and half a**ed even though my order was placed in advance. To top it all off they forgot my chips. My favorite place for bagel sandwiches. They are always delicious! I don't order Chai here anymore though. Once it had a shot of espresso in it even though I did not order it. I hate coffee and when I called that my Chai had coffee in it they said I was mistaken. They did say to bring it back and prove it and then they did replace the Chai. But lately a large Chai from there is very light weight and I could see the whole top half of the cup was just foam so I order my Chai from somewhere else. read more

Does anyone else remember when Moe's used to put three inches of cream cheese on their bagels? No? Well, when they first opened they went a little insane with the smear, and trying to deal with all if it spilling out through the hole and over the edges was a welcome after-school challenge for twelve-year-old me! These days, they are a little more conservative with their toppings, but that's not a bad thing! Their bagels are delicious- chewy exterior, soft fluffy exterior- and their smear flavors are phenomenal. We often pick up half a dozen plus lox and some scallion cream cheese on the way to visit my parents on Sunday mornings. The sandwiches are excellent as well! The New Yorker is a classic, but I like the Picnic Pleaser and the Sunshine Daydream, too! read more
