Service was quick and friendly. Many people were popping in for a quick bite. I loved standing outside in the moderately cold weather scarfing down my hot slices, while watching the Saturday night crowd cruise by on Pearl Street. As close to an east coast experience as you can get in Colorado! I came in with little to low expectations, and left full and satisfied. Glad I finally gave them a shot. This is the best pizza in Boulder by far! New York style pizza that even comes in 24inches. You can also order their pizza by the slice. You could tell there was a great system in place -- they were so busy they even had someone whose entire job was to run dough to the pizza makers! But what really stood out to us was the kindness and personality of the staff. There was a couple who were clearly exhausted and trying to manage dinner with their toddler. They were tag-teaming -- one was in line placing the order while the other waited for a table. At one point, their toddler made a break for it and headed toward the kitchen. Instead of getting frustrated or angry, the pizza maker looked at the child and said something along the lines of, "Hey, want to watch me throw a pizza?" The toddler immediately realized he had been noticed, ran back toward Mom, and then turned around to watch the pizza being tossed. We ended up watching too, and the whole thing had everyone entertained. It was such a small moment, but it really said a lot about the people who work here. In the middle of an incredibly busy dinner rush, they were still patient, kind, and able to turn a potentially stressful situation into something fun for the child and everyone around them. You can tell the staff are well taken care of and that the restaurant is very well managed. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing, the operation was incredibly efficient, and somehow we still got our pizza in a very reasonable amount of time. And, of course, the pizza was excellent -- as always! Great food, great people, and a team that knows how to handle a Saturday night rush with both efficiency and a sense of humor. We'll absolutely be back.

My husband ordered an appetizer as his meal, and I ordered a personal calzone. His food came out, and I expected mine to follow shortly afterward. Instead, I waited approximately 30 minutes after his meal was served before receiving my calzone. During that time, people who had ordered after us were receiving their food at about the same time I was finally served. I understand that different menu items can have different cooking times, but I'm having a hard time understanding why a personal calzone took that long, especially when my husband had already finished his meal. The biggest issue for me wasn't even the wait itself--it was that my husband and I were unable to actually eat our meals together. When the calzone finally arrived, the crust was extremely thick and wide compared with the portion of the calzone that actually contained the toppings. I'm sure the food itself may have been tasty, but the preparation and timing made the experience disappointing. I'm leaving this review because I think it's reasonable for two people who order together to expect their meals to be served within a reasonable amount of time of each other. If there was a problem with my order or something went wrong in the kitchen, I would genuinely like to understand what happened. I'm not looking for an argument or a defensive response--just an explanation of why my meal took roughly 30 minutes longer than my husband's and why we weren't able to enjoy our meal together. That being said, I would actually like to come back and try Antonio's again. I'm not writing this review because I never want to return or because I think the restaurant is terrible. I'd like the opportunity to have a better experience and actually get to enjoy the food. Hopefully, next time the service and timing will be better.
