I LOVE krispy cream donuts ! but this place comes a close second . I came here with friends after eating some Pho and some not so good shrimp and crab rolls. I honestly needed something sweet to take that taste out of my mouth " YUCK" My two friends had just had one maple bar each and some tea I didn't ask how they were but since they left not one crumb I will assume they were pretty darn tasty. As for me and my bf we has a mocha, caramel and boba frappe with wiped cream...No counting carbs here !! and a chocolate chip croissant and a glazed donut with whipped chocolate cream inside "wow" it was so good. They had lots of different donuts there some I have never seen at places like yum yum or Winchell's. I will definitely come back here for my donut fix. read more

I came here after I binge watched Dexter on Netflix for a few days and got a serious craving for donuts. Although I would've much rather had Michael C. Hall showing up at my doorstep with a box of fresh donuts, I knew that would just stay a fantasy. So, I opted to come here. I've lived in the area for 2 years but never stopped by because, honestly, I'm lazy. But I'm currently expecting and have the biggest sweet tooth on earth! I got half a dozen and had half a donut over the course of a week and also begrudgingly shared them with my family. Seriously, these donuts were just as good on day 5 as they were on day 1. I work in the early morning and I'm always going to modoo for the great coffee, doughnut and bagel with ham and cheese. The great team they have in the morning, always welcoming and super nice. The afternoon people were also nice but the night person doesn't make bagels? I guess they are open 24 hours but not everything on the menu is. I've been to many a donut places because I need something chocolatey, lickety split! I love their set up of donuts on the shelf where they're visible along with a corresponding number. Service is fast and friendly; smiling goes a long way! I always get the chocolate donut with chocolate glaze and Modoo's donuts are gynormous! It's a very generous size but I've noticed that almost all the chocolate donuts I've had have that grainy texture to them. I guess I've been looking for a more cakey donut. I like how they are open late! I also liked the diplays, the donuts are labled by number. That always comes in handy because so many times you're trying to point to the specific "sprinkled" donut you want. The inside was pretty clean- I had to clean the table before we sat down. They have a pretty neat coffee preparing place which I liked. The donuts were pretty soft considering it was later in the night. The chocolate chip cookies were really good. They were in a large jar next to the register- so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Overall it's a pretty chill place to come to. I've always passed by Modoo Donuts over the years and I finally went in to see what they're like. The first thing I see when I walk in is this huge wall of doughnuts behind the cashier with numerous varieties lining the shelves, as opposed to shelves beneath the counter like in most other shops. They have quite the variety including my favorite glazed blueberry doughnut. Unlike most others I've tried, it actually tastes like blueberry and was a deep purple inside. They also have cute decorative doughnuts similar to California Donuts in LA with panda and pig designs. They also offer cronut holes which I'm pretty excited to try next time I come in. There are a few tables and seats within the shop in case you're in the mood to savor your doughnut right then and there. Service-wise, there's really not much to say because you pretty much get in and get out. read more

Driving down Beach Blvd there are countless Korean restaurants to stop by for a bite to eat and then there's Modoo Donuts right in the middle of them. Modoo really sticks out since this area is known for its Korean community and here's this donut shop offering American classics like glaze donuts, ham and cheese croissants, and sandwiches to their specialty donuts they offer. I grew up around donuts and when there's a chance to check out other donut shops I'm willing to drop by. What I noticed right away is this is an Korean donut shop, I'm more used to Cambodian donut shops since 90% of donut shops are own by Cambodians in SoCal. The worker here was friendly and helpful when I was ordering. I got their cookie monster donut $1.75 and cookie and cream smoothie since they ran out of blueberry. The donut itself was too sweet for me, practically sugar on top of sugar. The cookies and cream smoothie is what I expected but a little different, could just be their mix, not sure if it's Big Train or Mammoth brand but it did taste like cookies and cream. As their donuts go I'm into it since it's too sweet but they do sell lottery tickets here then I would comeback for one of their sandwiches. read more

What makes this place so great are not only their donuts but the people working there! I've been around here a few times and they've never let me down! I tried everything when I came here: the coffee, chocolate, chocolate sprinkles, panda, sugar, cronuts, eclairs - everything was GOOD. And the most amazing part of this whole thing is that they are open 24/7 to satisfy your donut cravings at 8am, 12PM, 9PM or even 3AM if that's your thing. You can never go wrong with ordering donuts from here. I decided to order (6) 18 donut boxes for my work on reviews alone... never tried their donuts prior. I also needed the donuts early and they are open 24 hours... and they are right by the train station that I take. I called in my order and asked them to put their most unique, most popular donuts mixed. They did not disappoint! A lot of times with donuts... they're so sweet you can only have one. I keep going back for more of the cream puffs and had 2 donuts already lol. Coworkers are also very happy. The guys there also helped me bag all the boxes & carry them to my car. This place is outstanding, came in earlier today just before work and got myself a large coffee and a dozen donuts for the guys at work. The coffee was generic coffee but the donuts were so freaking good. That was about as fresh as I've had donuts in a while. Great donuts, and the girl that helped me out was very sweet and helpful. They only sell hot coffee at night. They have a huge list of specialty drinks that looked good on the menu, but couldn't order. I've been coming to this location for over 20 years, then when it was with a prior owner. I wouldn't recommend anything after 9am. The donuts always seem dry and selection drops through the day.
