Honestly this is the worst place I have been to the place is dirty and terrible customer service. I had foot fungus in my nails! Also when I got gel nails they always remove fast there gel nails are so expensive! And only lasts for 2 days. Also they where doing my daughters nails and they where doing it all of a sudden they cut her! I really care about my kids safety also she had good grades I felt like she Deserves more! I went to Amy when she was at Tina nails. She is the best person I have found to do natural nails. Very good. My polish lasts one week. I have been going to her for over one year. I am very particular as I do not have artificial nails and it is hard to find someone interested in doing something other than gel. The salon is clean, quiet and calming. Nancy is very professional and well know in Morgan Hill. She does an excellent job. I've never heard anyone complain about her work. read more

I'm a cosmetologist and had to take StateBoard just like everyone who is licensed to do nails. Which means I know what they are doing and if they're following the safety and sanitation process that is required. That being said I've had some really horrifying experiences. This is one of the BEST places I have found between Morgan Hill and Gilroy. They are extremely clean!!! They take great care of their customers making you feel welcome and secure. A lot of places make you feel like you're a burden and you know that they are talking badly about you to each other. Not this place!!!!! I choose this place because I saw all the good reviews from all you ladies. I made an appointment for acrylic gel nails during my lunch hours as I work close to this modern nails place. Having an appointment still she made me wait for 15 minutes. Then finally she took me and all the time that she was fixing my nails..she was attending the appointment calls. I was ok with it..as she need more customers to pay her bills as well. I was not very happy with how she did my nails. But since the place was convenient I was okay with that as well. After 2 weeks ie yesterday, I called her and made an appointment. I went as scheduled, very rudely she asked me WHERE I HAD GOT MY NAILS DONE. I told her it was here and she did my nails. I told her since my natural nail is growing I am having little discomfort and if she can fix that nail. I don't know why...she started telling me you have hurt yourself and that is why you are having this pain. I did not want to argue with her. I told her if she can refill 2 nails as due to my natural nail growth it hurts. I don't know if she was not understanding me or she was in a bad mood... All she did was tell me that I should not have acrylic nails. I said..if she feel that way then please remove and rudely she said..she will charge me $7/- I had gone with the intention of spending more money to get my nails redone. .but OH!! WELL.. She cut my nails and remove the gel paint mercilessly. My nails are still hurting. I have done my nails earlier and have got a better treatment and better service. I have been going to Modern Nails for 5 years already and they recently changed owners. At first I was worried but the new owner Tammy is very nice and the woman who did my nails(Linh) was great. She exceeded my expectations and my nails turned out beautiful. I got a pedicure and she gave the best massage. The old owners never did anything to give back but Tammy now has stamp cards that give you $12 off on your 10th visit. This made me very happy. People should give the new owner and technicians a chance because they do a great job! read more

This is one of the best salons I have been to. I got to know Amy and Nancy when they were at Tina Nail and was devastated when I found out they both had left. Later when I found out through a friend that they had gone out on their own I immediately made an appointment. Walking into their new salon it was clean and quiet which was such a relief compared to most overcrowded nail salons. No matter what time I want an appointment something is always available and when I walk in a chair is waiting for me and they get started right away. Amy and Nancy are so personable and do an amazing job everytime. No matter what I ask them to do they say no problem and do it with a smile. Even though it is a little bit of a drive for me I gladly make the trip for these two amazing ladies. The prices are reasonable and their work is nothing shy of amazing. All Tammy is interested in is taking as much money from the customer as possible. I requested and scheduled an appointment for Tammy to do my nails and an eyelash touchup. Tammy kept bouncing me around to different girls while she worked on other people. When she finally sat down to take over and finish with my nails, she looked at me and said that I need my eyelashes removed and a new set put in. This is the second time she does this and it is extremely painful. 3 1/2 hours later, she tells me she is finished. I can't see the lashes and she tries to convince me that it's a medium set of eyelashes. I have never had such horrible experience with anyone that has done my eyelashes. The gel nail polish bubbled up and I had no choice but to have it redone because Tammy threw me over to a young girl that knows nothing about doing nails. Tammy charged me $80 4 weeks ago and $50 yesterday for the eyelashes. Tammy is arrogant, rude, obnoxious and rudely speaks in Vietnamese all of the time. Beware of Tammy. She is a devil in sheep's clothing. Worst experience of my life not to mention the excruciating and painful hours that I spent at this place. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

I used to go there pretty often until I got a really bad FUNGUS on my toes :( I had to take antibiotics & I'm still recovering.. The chairs on the back of the salon, close to the bathroom SMELLS really bad too... I don't know if it is because of mold or what! Also got tired of the non respectful Vietnamese talk in our faces. I have never stayed consistent with one nail salon. A friend of mine who is a faithful customer of Amy and Nancy brought me to their new salon and I was VERY impressed! They are so friendly as soon as you walk in. They are welcoming, easy going, and they do a wonderful job! Pricing is just as competitive as any other in-town salon. I appreciated how they were interested in the event i was attending, so they can assure that my nails matched my dress and everything. Amy took quality time doing my nails, and would make sure that she was doing what I wanted. She did a great job waxing as well. I love how they give you a short massage at no extra cost! After all these positive reviews, I was expecting something better. I came in for a full set and an eyebrow wax. I walked in at 510 and got seated immediately, which was fantastic! One lady started working on my nails then all of a sudden she realized she had a 6 pm appointment, mind you it was only about 520 by this time. So, she had another girl do my nails while she sat at the front desk texting the entire time. As she was doing my nails I looked around and noticed that the place was filthy. Also, when the girl was doing my nails, she made me bleed. Instead of putting something on it, she wiped it with her bare finger. Ummmm, hopefully I don't contract something from that but I was completely disgusted. The girl who did my nails did them way more narrow and pointier than I wanted but I was not about to complain considering it was a little after 730. Almost 2 1/2 HOURS and $65 LATER??? I was looking for a new place to get pampered aka a good pedicure. The location is accessible in a plaza with lots of other stores. Awkward part is walking by all the random people hanging out outside the place next door. Parking was easy. Walked into a clean establishment by one of the owners who was on the phone. She repeatedly apologized while she got me set up in a chair. Chairs are massage chairs but are uncomfortable if you are sitting there awhile..which you will be because they take their time doing the pedicure. There are magazines to read - I didn't notice a tv. They offered water which was nice. The chair, tools, and the utility cart were clean. Everything was appeared to be properly packaged and sanitized. The manicurist wore gloves even! Foot and leg massage is the longest I have ever had without paying any extra $. Lavender scented lotion was used. She listened well to my request to adjust the lines of the french pedicure. She seemed eager to make sure I was happy with her work. Friendly place. I recommend going here if you have some time to relax and want a good pedicure. FYI basic pedicure $20. read more

Whenever I walk in there is always someone who asks me if I want some water. Their service is great and they really care about the customers. Tammy the new owner is very kind and always wants satisfied customers. It is fun to hear her stories while I'm getting a pedi and it brings a smile onto my face. I don't think any other salon has great customer service as Modern Nails done. The new owner also has remodeled the whole salon and it looks amazing. She told me that she put out a lot of money to remodel and make the store beautiful so customers would like it and come in. The old owners never really cared about their salon and it was always kind of messy and the decor was meh. i have been going here for a few months and i love them all. i take in a picture of what i want and the colors i want and they do it so perfectly. everyone always says how nice my nails are. the place is clean and i do not mind at all when they speak in their language. they all speak pretty good english so what's the big deal. english is hard and i know it would be very hard for me to learn vietnamese. my poilish - i get the gel - lasts 3-4 weeks. love the special treatment during mani and pedi and i am going to take my husband next time. my son has already decided it's a good thing so it's time for his dad to get on board. give these girls a try - you won't be sorry and you will be back. read more
