I'm torn...
The door was locked, I think we knocked (then mom who is 85 with dementia rang the bell as the larger "brother" was letting us in); his reception was ICE COLD...
(I'm sure the brother assumed we were just lookie-loos and he had no time for our nonsense)
The perception we have of one another is one of many stumbling blocks we as a people need to alleviate all together; how do we expect to over come the atrocities if we can't even get it together amongst ourselves?
I proceeded to look around and then there was a voice that acknowledged us (the smaller "brother"); he asked if we wanted water, there was a bit of chit chat between him, mom and my sister (much more welcoming than the "ICE COLD" reception).
But once the first brother realized we were there to spend money, O did his energy change; he was willing to try shirts on so I could determine which size to purchase, suggested spots to eat, talked about the artist, turns out we're from areas near one another (all I can do is shake my head and have faith that the two individuals I produced, "my offspring" do a better job of embracing us versus "judging a book by it's cover...)
