I'm always on the lookout out for small business gift shops with handmade jewelry and goods, and…read moreBeehive didn't disappoint! The manager Mari was so sweet and greeted us with an introduction of how the shop included displays curated by the featured creators. There were so many beautiful gifts from jewelry to art to housewares. There were some very cute dresses I would have loved to buy, though sadly they only went up to XL. Complimentary gift wrapping was offered too. We all walked out with something! Beehive was so cute and welcoming. If I were a local, I'd definitely be checking out the art classes offered.

The Beehive on Caroline Street is easily one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. It's so much more…read morethan just a store; it's a creative escape. I've spent quite a few weekends there taking everything from sewing and flower arranging to candle making, and every single class has been a joyful experience. There's something refreshing about stepping away from a screen and actually making something with your hands. The boutique side is just as great--it's packed with unique, high-quality gifts from local makers, so you're always finding something one-of-a-kind. Plus, they give you 20% off any purchases on the day you take a class, which makes it nearly impossible to leave empty-handed. If you're looking for a new hobby or just want to support the local creative scene, you really can't beat the vibe here.

One of my all time favorite shops! They just opened a location on the west side and it's just as…read morebeautiful as the Ponce location. They carry vintage items, funky/fun jewelry, and great gifts as well. The Ponce shop does $5 Friday's and it's the best. I got a silk top originally $60 for just $5, especially when I love a good deal. They also allows dogs into their shops which is another plus! Shopping here always puts me in a good mood.

I knew it was my kind of establishment when I spotted an Etsy sticker on the door. There's parking in Arlo's garage with the entrance next to the nearby Dairy Queen. Your first 30 minutes are free. Be sure to take a ticket from the automated kiosk after you select the 30 minute option (no credit card required). COCO + MISCHA is a small boutique that sells really pretty things. There are lots of handmade goodies, some made locally, like bowties and skinny ties. I saw jewelry, baby items, bath/body stuff, prints, cards, and more. There are also vintage and new pieces of clothing for sale, along with kitchen and barware. Prices seemed a little high for some items and reasonable for others. There was one woman minding the store; she seemed really nice. I didn't end up buying anything but would come back if I needed gifts or wanted to treat myself.

This is a cute lil retail shop located in Ponce City Market. It's located on the second level on…read morethe end by The Village Market (another black owned business) and across from what will be Slutty Vegan's 4th Atlanta location. Based off of their social media, they just opened up in November. Bombchel Factory is a black owned and woman owned small business. I didn't really read about them until I got home, but I love the story and mission the owner Archel has created for her business. The store is open and accepting to all walks of life. This shop has a number of African inspired items and patterns which is displayed through clothing, jewelry, candles, etc. I was drawn to the tie-dye Atlanta Influences Everything long sleeve. The shirt is unisex and comes in a variety of color patterns. I will say the store and clothing is geared more towards women as there isn't really any men clothing that I noticed other than the unisex shirts or hoodies. There's a number of other things in there I'd live to get and will definitely be returning to get. I'd say their prices are fairly on par with similar shops/boutique style shops. The shirt I think was $60, which some may find on the expensive end, but it didn't surprise me for a small business as a lot of these items are hand crafted and there's no huge manufacturing things as major retail businesses would have. The two staff members that were working at the time were very friendly and helpful during my visit, and not pushy at all which I like. All in all, it's a cute shop and it's nice to see exposure to more small black owned businesses in the city, as well as in Ponce City Market.
