There's so many Pizza chains now,throughout So.Cal and that's always great for us Customers. The pizza war's have started. From the beginning,to the end my visit was tremendous. Same concept as other pizza chains like,pizza rev and pieology.Make your own pizza. With the opening of the new Starbucks,they offered a free pizza with the purchase of anything from starbucks.This is what brought me into this location of Mod pizza.So many times I passed it by with shopping at target or even trader joes. I glad I did. The employees where very friendly and didn't rush you though the line,witch No guest ever wants to be rushed though. As I was eating a employee came over to me and asked me if I enjoyed my pizza and of course I did. Their pizzas are pretty good. They have a fantastic variety of options as well as "create your own" pizzas. Toppings are endless! Not too fond of their gluten free crust...there are much better crusts out there so they could stand to investigate others. read more

We came to Mod Pizza to get some dinner to-go. I really wanted a good vegan pizza and was happy they stayed open late. We arrived around 9:00 pm on a sunday, and the store closes at 10. It seemed like the staff was pre-closing (cleaning, packing, and making all orders to-go). That was kind of weird but I'm glad we didn't want to stay and eat. I ordered a pizza with vegan (daiya) cheese. When i got home, the cheese was stuck to the top of my pizza box. I think they forgot to add a pizza topper. My pizza was okay. It was cooked well. I just wasn't a fan of the cheese... The texture was slimey. Also my pizza was cut into 4 slices instead of 8. I thought that was a bit odd. My boyfriend ordered a Cesar salad with no tomatoes. They forgot the croutons; we had to remind them. The salad had way too much cheese on it. I just felt like the staff was all over the place/ Not paying attention. The first girl took my order, handed me over to another girl and didn't mention that my pizza was vegan so she started offering me meats and cheeses. Once the first gal finished my order, she didn't bother to look up and see who she was talking to (my friends were then ready to order). This resturaunt had great potential! A lot of people really enjoy Mod Pizza. I really hope the staff will take my constructive criticism and work on their phenomenal customer service skills. Was disappointed that they no longer offer ricotta cheese. But was absolutely baffled that they were out of onions...on a Saturday at lunch time! What kind of management doesn't just run right over to, oh say Target next door and grab some onions. And if you are out, why not be decent and post a sign for people to see before they order? I seriously would have gone someplace else, which may have just answered that question. My pizza was assembled before I found out and I didn't want to just walk out like a schmuck. Mod pizza has never failed to impress me. From their impeccable service to their delicious pizzas their build your pizza is $8.47 for an 11" and there's plenty of toppings. They have a smaller pizza option and you can choose a pizza off their menu if you can't decide on your own toppings (: They have a variety of drinks at the fountain including fresh teas & lemonade and they also sell bottled beers. I was really craving a pizza and since delivery was available I tried Mod pizza. What I got was a burned pizza that was inedible. Everyone who works here is super friendly & very hard working. I would suggest eating your food at the restaurant, as opposed to taking it home- due to the fact that every time I get home, the bottom of my pizza is super soggy. Me and my family have been looking for a good go-to on our weekly friday night dinners. My son heard about this place from a fundraiser at his school. My wife was weary, she is a picky eater so she didn't know if she would enjoy their food. Sufficed to say, we all finished our plates! It's great being able to choose your own toppings down the lineust like Subway!! I am a fan of the BYOP (build your own pizza) spots, and this one did not make me sad. We came in and the place was pretty empty but despite that the three people in front took a long time and I think a lot of that was due to the staff not moving too quick. The topping selections were plentiful and I made a good pizza. They don't take long to bake and I liked the crust/dough they used. They have some really cool fresh lemonade and tea options, I tried the prickly pear tea which was weird and good, as well as the berry lemonade, very good. Lots of tables and a little outside patio. Great pizza spot, only a few minutes walk from our place. I use their app and usually the order is ready in 15-18 min tops. I love the choice of toppings and crusts, and the fast service too. We moved from San Fernando Valley and we used to go to Pizza Rev once in a while, so I'm glad that we found a place that's even better in my opinion. Searching through Yelp for gluten free pizza places and this location popped up. I've been here before, but to the one in scv and I honestly wasn't impressed with it, being normal pizza crust. Anyways, I came in here and got the gluten free crust (note that it only comes in one size and it's $2 more) but it is a bit bigger then the normal crust, so that's a plus. Anyways I'm now limited too what I can eat, due to foods that trigger my migraines.. so my pizza looked really sad, but ended up tasting really good.. so I'll take that for a win ha ha. Continuing with my gluten free crust, I added some veggies and got the dairy free cheese with it, however I did add some mozzarella to it to help melt the cheese a little more. I did notice the pizza didn't shrink up or get fatter in the oven, but it still had the burnt edges around it. It wasn't crispy like I like my pizza, but I was just happy that I found a place that carries something I can enjoy again without taking it out of my diet. Was excited that Simi had one, because of the others I've been to like Culver City. BUT: This place lacks the vibe, spirit of others. Last time NO beer, just Budweiser on tap, (kidding me?) nothing special bottled also as backup. Typical excuses "oh, because it's this that the other". The vibe from employees, it's like they just got back from a funeral, or going through the motions. Music was too low. This place just isn't like the others, very plain, doesn't have the energy (like Culver City especially). Poor MANAGEMENT. I mean, totally out of beer? This was my second time here, first was for an elite event, and that was great. Today we were the only ones there at 1:30 when we arrived. The girl working the front didn't smile and wasn't all that friendly like the other people we experienced the first time. We ordered salads and the garlic bites, but gluten free. My salad was soggy due to way to much dressing, but I ate it. The garlic bites were divine! I couldn't even tell they were gluten free, this is a 2.00 added cost, btw. A nice young man brought it out to us, and the sriracha ranch sauce and pesto are really good sauces for dipping. We took the rest of the garlic bites to go, I had the black tea, which was boring, then filled up with the blackberry lemonade for my ride back home. Tipped them a couple bucks on the way out. A really great experience all the way around. Dough was fresh. The pizza toppings were fresh, varied and plentiful. Loved the roasted garlic. I'm tasting those little pearls days later. The pizza preppers were enthusiastic and helpful. The customer service all the way around was excellent. The 11 inch thin crust pizzas piled high with customized toppings for just a shade over 10 bucks were satisfying, tasty and affordable. I had mine cooked a little longer which produced a perfect crispy thin crust. I might add a little more sauce next time. Mod Pizza is a great pizza option in Simi Valley. read more

The pizza was very good. They make right in front of and cook it in a wood fire pizza oven. The crust is thin and flakey, it taste good. The garlic cheesy bread is good also, not a really garlic taste but light. They have a good selection of beer, wine, soda and other drinks. They have beer on tap and have a $2.00 special on Tuesdays. This place is bomb af. I'm a big atmosphere person and I love the vibe in this place. I typically opt to sit outside because what can I say I love to people watch. The patio was gated in with multiple tables and chairs. There were a large assortment of toppings to choose from when building your pizza and also an array of beverages.
