Great pizza, disappointing customer service and overall experience. We drove all the way from Buena Park (about an hour) specifically to enjoy Toppers Pizza, and unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing. From the moment we started ordering, the customer service was lacking. The employee at the front register was rude and impatient. Before I could even finish ordering, he interrupted me with "That's it?" It immediately made the interaction feel rushed and unwelcoming. We also brought our puppy because we knew this location had an outdoor patio. We arrived around 8:50 PM, only to find all the patio chairs stacked away. When we asked if the patio was open, we were simply told no. I understand businesses have closing procedures, but it was disappointing that there was no outdoor seating available, especially after making such a long drive. We ended up eating while standing because we had our puppy with us. The one positive was the pizza itself. It was delicious, and we genuinely enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, good food doesn't make up for poor customer service and an uncomfortable dining experience. As someone who works in customer service, I understand how important it is to make guests feel welcomed, regardless of the time of day. A little kindness and communication go a long way. Arrived Oct 31, we were told a pizza would take an hour because of all the delivery orders! The restaurant was not even full and the back section is blocked off due to construction. At times the help manning the registers were just standing there with no customers. Why are delivery orders given preference over in store customers? Lots of people were walking out. DO NOT GO HERE! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND SERIOUS BILLING ISSUES! I strongly urge people to think twice before spending their money at this restaurant. What happened to us was completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about how they handle customers' payments. We dined in, and while we were ordering, the employee behind the counter ran my card twice. Both times, I received notifications on my phone confirming that the transactions were approved. Despite showing the manager the charges on my phone, she insisted their system had not processed the payment because it wasn't printing a receipt. She then told me we would have to pay AGAIN if we wanted our food, and that if we had been charged twice, we could call back and they would issue a refund. Unfortunately, the situation was even worse than we initially realized. When I checked my bank statement a week later, I discovered that I had been charged THREE TIMES, with one of the charges occurring the following day! I called the restaurant to resolve the issue, expecting a simple apology and a refund for the unauthorized duplicate charges. Instead, I was told that if I wanted my money back, I would have to PRINT OUT MY BANK STATEMENTS AND DRIVE ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE RESTAURANT. Are you serious? Why should the customer have to jump through hoops to fix a payment problem caused by the restaurant's own system and staff? You can see the charges, you can verify the transactions, and yet you expect the customer to waste even more time and money correcting your mistake? This is absolutely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes happen, but how a business handles those mistakes says everything about its integrity. Rather than taking responsibility and making things right, they have made this a frustrating, time-consuming ordeal. Now imagine a family living on a tight budget. Having money taken out of their account two or three times for a single meal could mean not having enough for groceries, gas, or other necessities. That is not a minor inconvenience. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even particularly good, so there is absolutely nothing about this experience that would make me want to return. Save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere else. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Between the multiple charges, the refusal to resolve the issue professionally, and the ridiculous demands placed on the customer, this has been one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. I am still trying to get my money back. Avoid this place unless you want to risk dealing with the same nonsense. read more

This is a reflection on many deliveries from Topper's Pizza in Thousand Oaks, California. For over ten years, it's been a family tradition for my mom, pop, and I to order Topper's whenever I come to town. We always loved their pizza. I'm not sure why, but their mushrooms are especially tasty. Delivery has consistently been blazing fast for us. In the earlier years, pop would often go pick it up himself. The pizza is always well-prepared and neatly presented. At some point, they changed their breadsticks into another kind of bread; I admit I preferred the original version. Last year, one of the final meals I shared with my mom was a delivery from the Camarillo location, enjoyed with my sister and her partner. It was just as good as ever. There's also a salad bar if you're in the mood for something lighter. But tables are clean, and ambiance is casual. Topper's lunch special for the win! The lunch special from 11am-3pm is an awesome deal. You get a personal/mini pizza for about $7 or a mini pizza with a side salad for $11. Topper's pizza is consistently delicious. The salad bar has a wide variety of items to add to a salad and is completely customizable. This is a truly local joint. It's very popular, and has been at least the last 20 years I've been coming here for. You have to line up to order and pay, then you get a flashing tracker to let you know your food is ready to be picked up at the counter. I first started coming here after sports team practices, but the pizza is so good, I kept coming way after the season ended. It's a homely ambience, with communal tables, and friendly patrons. This is my first time eating AT a Toppers location I have only eaten it to go prior. We came after my kids softball tournament and boy was it a treat. They only have their one perfect crust option and I will eat the finale of these leftovers today on day 3, soooooo good. Being able to have half and half of 2 specialty pizza flavors to me is top notch because I want to try everything always this helped a lot lol. My daughter got the cheese, excellent red sauce and you could tell how good the mozzarella is as well. I eat a form of Jalapeños almost daily, and this appetizer is insane. I appreciate that they bake it and don't put a fried crust on it for the health reason and just being able to appreciate the pepper itself! Adding dried cranberries and raspberry chipotle sauce gives you the sweet to round out the heat and creaminess of the cheese. Excellent dish! The creamy garlic chicken was delicious, that felt like a comfort food pizza, good for Alfredo lovers, delicious. I of course love the hot honey for the same reasons, jalapeños, sweet and heat of the honey and the salami salt. The salad bar is a one trip for 8.50, but you can share it amongst your party.. and don't forget their incredible ranch, blue cheese and I'm not sure what the reddish colored one was but my goodness I wish I could buy those by the bucket. I had never been to a Toppers Pizza location but my coworkers brought me to try the lunch special. It is both a great price for good value. There is an option for both pizza and salad, or just pizza. I got a bbq sauce, bacon, and pepperoni pizza. The crisp of the pizza is amazing. It was not too heavy either. Is it the best pizza...no, however, it is always consistently good and you know what to expect plus they also have a great salad bar and draft beer selection. There is a lot of inside/outside seating and it can get pretty busy at times. It's a great place for larger groups of people as well. First off, let me say Toppers in Thousand Oaks is our go to pizza place because the pizza always tastes great and prepared well. The antipasto salad is also very good, usually. However today, the salad was not fresh, with most of the lettuce wilted and discolored. Disappointing to say the least and moreso since we are too far from Toppers to drive back to exchange. The ranch is the reason we keep coming back! You can get as much as you need for your pizza and salad. The salad bar is clean and well stocked, the pizza has a crispy crust with just enough cheese to make it delicious but not so much it's "too cheesy." Main dinner times are super busy but there is an outside patio which seats bigger groups. It's pricier than a Dominos but the pizza is so much better. Service is good even when busy.
