Just heard of this place so I thought I'd try it as reviews seemed overwhelmingly positive. I rarely give reviews thinking this being only my second time but this restaurant deserves to be considered as a top contender as it is the best New York style pizza I've had in years. The sauce was so flavorful and the crust cooked to perfection. Definitely an old style New York vibe and a welcoming and appreciating staff. True story- we saw a flyer on our doorstep that had a blurb on Butler's Pizza and were like... let's try them! Called in to place a pick up order and the staff were very friendly. Lots of pizzas to choose from, including vegan & gluten free if ya need! We got an XL cheese with peppers and basil. Normally I feel like places don't put enough toppings on but they did it right! They are fast too- pizza was ready in 15 minutes on a Friday night. Space is cozy and welcoming, nice family vibe. Great spot for pizza if you're in the area! read more

I've driven by this pizzeria so many times over the years and always associated the location with Mulberry Street Pizza back in the day, which in my opinion was very mid-tier and only went there once. Since my prior favorite recently closed, when craving a NY slice, I decided to give this a go and I am so glad I did! First, what I deal!! 2 cheese slices and a drink in this area for under $10 is unheard of and better yet it's great quality pizza with a nice light crust, & good sauce/cheese ratio. Service was quick and slices came out piping hot and couldn't wait to take bite...so worth burning the roof of your mouth! Owner seemed like a great guy and in reading, it's a family run establishment and always looking to support that type of business. Highly recommend and definitely will be back! read more

I try and i try to make this place work. The pizza is REALLY good but, without fail, they are late with their pizza EVERY TIME. Lunch time- 10 extra minutes, Dinner - at least 20 min (after the time they say it will be ready). Tonight they gave me 40 min from order and when i arrived (30 min later) they hadnt even put it in the oven - 20 minutes after the original (40 min) estimate. After hearing so many good things about Butler's Pizza, I just had to try this place for myself. I ordered the thin crust pizza and was very impressed! I must say, this pizza is the closest I've had to New York City coal oven pizza (and that is a very good thing!) Butler's crust is crisp and light...just the way a New York pizza should be! The sauce is delicious...I can tell that a lot of effort went into perfecting the sauce as it's the perfect consistency and taste. Great service with mouth watering food. They have an outdoor seating area that is nice with great atmosphere for enjoying pizza, salad, hot-wings or sub sandwich with a friend or significant other. My family tried this place last night for the first time. Not sure how we missed it living in the area for so long, but I'm so glad we found it now. It was a Friday night and they were definitely busy with takeout orders, but it was fairly quiet inside so my husband, kids and I got a big table quickly and were served immediately. The ambience was cozy, warm and welcoming, almost felt like we just stepped in off the streets of New York City to the welcoming smell of fresh pie and cheerful atmosphere of a family owned pizzeria. The music was great, the hospitality even better (the owner was there and he is so lovely and gracious, and his wife makes the best cookies!) and then of course the pizza- it was perfect. It got "best pizza ever" from our kids and my husband and I had to agree. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of cheese and sauce and a great crust. We can't wait to go back again and try out their giant pizza :) read more

If you've been in Thousand Oaks long enough, you know that this is the old Mulberry location. I have to say I miss Mulberry, but you are not being shorted by this place. I think it's it's like your local mom and Pop shop. But better the pizza is always gray freshly made. And they always have these really great deals. Every time I go in, I feel like I'm at home and a nice little town. And everyone knows me. Even though they don't, lol the service is always top-notch and I feel like it's a family run business, which makes it all the cozier. Every time I go in, I get the old style pizzeria vibes. But, BUT the chopped salad and garlic bread, ask for a lot of extra garlic on the garlic bread and it was OUTSTANDING!!! Came back and ordered a medium white spinach pizza and it was AMAZING!!! There is no other pizza place in the area that can compete. We called an order 15 or 20 minutes before they were closing on a Saturday night and they had it ready for us in 10 minutes. Used to be a repeat customer and loved their mushroom crust and cauliflower crust however just found out (after I ordered a mushroom crust pizza.- and received something entirely different) that they no longer offer it. For almost $30 I expect at minimum being told that they no longer offer something instead of taking the liberty of providing something else then blaming their bad customer service on a "misunderstanding" that I get to pay for. I am so happy Barones is closed on Mondays because it forced us to try a new pizza place, and boy was Butler's amazing. Love the fact that this is a family owned restaurant, where they are on-site helping make the pizzas and run shop. Extremely friendly, and want you to truly enjoy your pizza. The pizza itself: SO. GOOD. We ordered: 1. a regular XL cheese pizza with mushrooms, bell peppers & black olives. The family said the crust was amazing, a nice chew but not too doughy, and cooked perfectly. It was also HUGE! Felt like a true NY pizza! 2. Two 14" gluten free pizzas. One Trevis speciality which was delicious. It had sausage, pepperoni, green peppers (we got it without onions). The sauce was not too tomatoey nor did they skimp on the sauce. The crust it self - one of the better gluten free crusts I've had! It felt like I was actually eating a pizza and my family who isn't allergic to gluten - also said it was great. The Margarita for me.. I wouldn't order again (that's why this didn't get the full 5 stars) bc it felt a little plain and with too much sauce but not much else. It was great if you got a slice with cheese on it, but there were some slices that had no cheese and very little basil. So it felt like you were just having crust with sauce. I'm sure some may love this style but personally I like my pizza cheesy :) Overall, will DEFINITELY be back here and try some of their other specialties. DO NOT EAT HERE! The worst service. Stepped away to use take my grandchildren to the restroom and asked them not to remove my food. Came back to it being cleared. Manager then pulled pizza out of the trash and said I could have it back. When I declined he said it was time for me to leave. Really terrible that my grandkids had to see what racism looks like. This place is great !! Family owned & operated. Love that I can get a slice of pizza & not the whole pie whenever I want. And their pizza is super yummy... I love their pizza sauce & they offer so many different toppings. I'm so hooked on their pizza that I haven't gotten any of their pasta dishes or subs. So I'm sorry that I can't comment on anything but the pizza. This place is quick, usually I can be munching on a slice of pizza within 10 mins.
