Above and beyond my expectations! I don't know where to begin. Not feeling well today and too tired to drive so I ordered my lunch from DoorDash. I was craving Italian and came across, Allegro's Pizza. So glad i ordered from here! I ordered Italian Sub on artisan bread) and Minestrone Soup. The soup came with fresh baked Garlic Knot's. The Minestrone, bread on my sandwich and Garlic Knot's were delivered piping hot like it came right out of the oven. Say's a lot about the way Allegro's packs their food to go. The soup is filled with fresh vegetables (cabbage, celery, tomatoes, carrots & potato) and hit the spot. If you are ever in the Thousand Oaks area and craving an Italian meal on the go, I highly recommend Allegro's Pizza. Allegro Pizza is my new Italian meal on the go place! This place to used to be our go to place. I don't know what happened all of a sudden this place is not reliable. I ordered food for delivery and when the delivery time went over what I was told, I called. Someone on the phone then told me they were not delivering food. Today the least I was frustrated, why wasn't I told when I originally ordered. Won't be ordering from there again. Such a shame. read more

In a nutshell, really not good pizza. 30 bucks for a large pie and it was flavorless. Not to be a jerk, but Dominos is actually better for a third of the price. I would think having a goldmine of the only pizza place on this side of town would mean you take pride in putting out a decent product. Not so. Was there in a Saturday night at 6 PM and heard the phone ring twice and saw one other person order food to go. I called in an order at 5pm on a Sat and my takeout was ready in 20 minutes. I spied some great lunch specials walking in, will be back to try that. There were 5 employees behind the counter working, looks like they have their service figured out, which is very important as no one wants to waste their weekend time waiting for an unreasonably long time for food to arrive. I placed an order for delivery at 5:35 PM on Saturday, 7/19/25. The driver apologized that he forgot the Cesar Salad but had the Eggplant Parmigiani. Allegro is 5 minutes away. The Cesar Salad was delivered by another driver about 20 minutes later but it did not come with any dressing, not even on the side. I called to ask if the dressing can be delivered. The person who answered was polite and apologetic, adding that he was the cook, that no manager was on site but assured me it will be delivered. It's been an hour and it has not been delivered. My wife and I revisited this place, after an absence, but the "kids" working the counter let our order sit in the back til we asked for it several times. I really wanted to like it here but unfortunately there was a few problems. First off my food came out cold on the inside and was just warm on the outside. That was a bummer. Then the table clothes were torn and just made the place look run down. Finally a lot of the decorations on the tables were filthy like they haven't been clean including the salt & pepper shakers. The pizza had generous toppings and a really good crust (not too thick, but not thin crust either). Garlic knots (?) got delivered as well, I guess maybe they came with the salad? Thank you to the new Owner, Raul, for honoring an old gift certificate from the previous owners. We are very appreciative, as times are tight financially for our family this year. We ordered an extra large pizza and the "famous" Allegro garlic knots as a side. The garlic knots were BETTER than ever, brushed with a healthy amount of butter and dozens of garlic chunks, minced large. (This evening, we discovered our 3 year old LOVES garlic as much as my husband and I, dipping his bread over and over into the butter and garlic knots!) Awesome! The pizza was cooked perfectly and FULLY LOADED with generous portions of veggies & meat for our supreme pizza. Allegro, although small inside, feels BIG with plenty of patrons: a party of women having lots of belly laughs, and a constant slew of customers walking in and out for take out. I am one who has been known to drive from Ventura to the valley just for a great Italian sub. There isn't a need to do that anymore! We had the Italian and Chicken parm subs and both were excellent. We went with a large pepperoni & pineapple pizza and their large Caesar salad which comes with 7 garlic knots. I called in our order and was given a 25 minute pick up time. Upon pick up, our order was ready as promised and the gentleman who checked me out was nice. The pizza itself was yummy, I even had leftovers for work today. Besides pizza and salads, Allegro's offers authentic Italian Pastas, popular Italian dishes and custom submarine sandwiches. The food is pretty good. The antipasto needs a few garbanzo beans and onions. The cured meats are piled on, I could make sandwiches for a week with what I got with the small size. Needs more cheese to balance out the meat. Needs a peperoncini or two. BUT, am I ever ANNOYED at the condition in which my food arrived. If they can't hire private delivery people, they need to stay ON TOP of those idgits at DoorDash. What kind of moron would STAND UP a pizza!? Look at my photos and you'll see that, while the restaurant might have set the pizza flat, they didn't notice the DD guy grab it by the handle and carry the box out vertically. Look at what the delivery guy wrote when we texted: "Sorry about that! I didn't notice it." Well I did! That jerk ruined a perfectly good pizza. We did complain to DoorDash and they ignored us. Their pizza is very thin and flavourful. We usually get pineapple or vegetable. Both are very good. Great garlic knots too.

We love their NY slice and their meatballs are really tasty as well. When we want a new york style crust we always order from Allegro.

Tonight we decided to get out and eat there the food was avg. employees have zero knowledge of serving people nor having tables set up for people who want to dine in. You young people who work there! I will start off by saying the garlic dough knots here are delicious. Unfortunately I can't say the same about my pizza. I'm not sure why the dough the knots dough tasted so good, but the pizzas didn't. My pizza dough was far too heavy and dense to where the middle was almost raw. Definitely not enough yeast added and way too much flour. The pizza was flat, not even a outer crust rise where the cheese ended, which would be fine for thin crust but the pizza here is super thick. It definitely tasted like a home made crust and the texture was no different. Still it was a decent pizza, but after eating pizza all over Thousand Oaks, it doesn't make the top five. The reason I came here is because my friends are loyal patrons and love this place for their Italian Food. Looking at the menu they have a huge selection to choose from. From deli subs to authentic Italian pasta dishes with veal. For such a small little place I was surprised to see the most the dishes were $16+, but these are the times. I myself stuck with the pizza because with:(30+ menu selections, super small location, and not a huge customer presence) I'm not sure how they can keep all these dishes fresh and on hand. Had the Margarita pizza, or what we thought would be a Margarita pizza. It had sliced tomatoes and no mozzarella. Never heard of a Margarita pizza with sliced tomatoes especially tasteless ones. The sauce tasted like it was from a can. The crust was thick which is not what an Italian pizza is supposed to be. Everyone raves about this place serving the best Italian pizza. We also had the the house salad. The olives were also from a can with absolutely no taste. At least the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. So disappointed. Great food for your buck, I think I like the traditional Italian sandwiches better than the pizza, but is all very solid and great for pick up and delivery. I was craving manicotti, read a Yelp review claiming that this place has the best. No joke, they do !! Seriously the best manicotti I have had in ages. The Marinara has such an amazing taste, the ricotta filling is so tasty, fresh & there was an abundant amount of melted mozzarella covering. The minestrone soup is so delicious. Fresh & what I loved most about the soup is that it isn't loaded with a bunch of salt. On a rainy day, this was perfect. Comfort food. Feeling so satisfied & warm inside. Wasn't sure about having Grubhub deliver but everything about this order & delivery was perfect. Food was delivered by Jessica (aka ninja) so quiet none of us heard her come thru the gate. Food arrived super hot & ready to devour. Now that I have found this place, I see lots of more manicotti in my future. Finally a place I can seriously crave. Just spent $50 on an antipasto salad, meatball sub and a BBQ chicken sub. The salad was lettuce with a couple sliced olives and tomato. A few slices of deli meat and cheese, folded not sliced.
