Everything seems great at first. The ambiance was cool and the service seemed nice. Then we got home and after a bit we got extremely sick. We're not sure but we think it was from the meat or the mushrooms she talked my husband into putting on his pizza. He was way sicker than me since I had one little piece of his individual pizza and I didn't have mushrooms or meat on mine. The standing myriad different permutations of the same thin-crust pie are gobsmacking! I've eaten at every MOD in dfw, and each time I've ordered a wholly distinct bespoke pizza. Also, one can buy a salad instead, and custom build it as well. The concierge at the counter is always exceedingly helpful and understanding of even strange tastes such as mine. After a few visits where we noticed we received significantly less toppings & a few incorrect orders (ordering online), we had our final visit this evening. Two of our four pizzas had numerous errors (toppings that weren't asked for, incorrect sauces, etc), the pizzas were cold despite us arriving early to our pick up time & living only 4 minutes from the location, & some of us ended the evening sick in the bathroom an hour or so after eating what we even ate of the food. Burnt tasting on the first two I ate and then I started to look at rest of pizza since I wasn't paying much attention since I was on the phone talking. The rest of pizza was burnt and it would just fall apart when biting. The cheese is burnt to where it's just hard and stiff. I loooove MOD Pizza! The ordering process is super easy through the app and they usually have my pizza ready within 15 minutes. The one time they didn't they apologized for the wait and threw in a free dessert. The pizzas are fairly cheap and range from 6-inch to 11-inch. I usually get the 11-inch regular crust (they have a mega crust one too) which is super thin so it's not too heavy on carbs and it's nice and crispy. My favorite is the Mad Dog and I always add spicy chicken sausage, jalapeños, Serrano peppers, and freshly chopped basil because ya girl loves her spice. No extra cost for customization/additional toppings! The pizzas are fresh and delicious. For a chain, MOD Pizza is pretty good. Plus a whole 11 inch pizza for less than $10?? I'm sold. I highly recommend the cauliflower crust for those limiting carbs (still a lot but a lot less). The pies fire up quick and they move things along nicely. They have a good selection of toppings and the pies taste very good. This is probably my favorite pizza in Rockwall. I always get a mushroom and cheese pizza on cauliflower crust. The cauliflower crust is nice and crispy. The pizza is light and great for lunch. Pizza is cooked in a huge oven and comes out piping hot. Their lemonades are really spot on. Cost is extremely reasonable. Allows each person to order what they want. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Place is exceptionally clean and well designed. These are all company stores in Texas so there should be consistency in food quality from store to store. I've been to MOD pizza in other places, and everyone knows they are the king of the thin crust. I also appreciate that during covid-19 they offer both takeout and curbside delivery. A really simple process of ordering online, and once at the venue you give them a call. I asked for the pizza to be put in my trunk, and they were okay with that. During the non-covid crisis times, the inside would be just insanely packed. I think they are getting the same amount of orders, but everyone is doing delivery or takeout. When I called in, it sounded like a bunch of teenagers were man-ing the ship. I put my order in an hour before I planned to pick it up and arrived right on time. Unfortunately, when I called in it sounded like they didn't start on it yet. About twenty minutes later, my order was ready. SO, my best tip for this MOD pizza is to put in your order at least an hour ahead and feel free to arrive a little late. Don't try and do the 15 minute order option online, it's not going to work out. Mouthwatering pizza here, and I genuinely can't stop myself from ordering from them again, but my recent order missed out on the drizzle topping I requested. They got the sauce right, both mozzarella and ricotta cheese, the rosemary, and even the basil, but they forgot to put on the ranch drizzle I requested and at the time I was disappointed about it. read more
