MOD Pizza has a very clever process for people to make their own pizzas. You have a choice to pick either one of the suggested pizzas or to make your own. It seems like most people make a custom pizza. The steps are really straight-forward. They have three crusts (including a gluten-free one)--I just chose the original. Next is the sauce--I just went with the red sauce, but there are five other choices. Next is the cheese--I went mainly with mozzarella with a little bit of parmesan. They have a really hug selection of vegetables and other stuff--I went with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions. The quality of them were all high. The final for me was the meat, where I chose the mild sausage. They put it on pretty generously. You also have some options to add over this, but I did not pick any. They have a nice oven and the pizza seemed to take about 5-7 minutes. It is not the best pizza (I like a thinner crust), but really good and it is nice that you can order it so quickly just the way you like it. I can see why this place is so popular. read more

You can't really go wrong with MOD. It is one of the best Build Your Own places around. The toppings are always consistent, and the servers don't act stingy when you ask for extra toppings. This is based on my experiencing ordering online on their website. It costs $8.27 for an 11-inch pizza ($9.10 with tax). It's really easy to choose all the toppings you want (easier than telling someone in person). They say that it takes about 20 minutes to get your order ready. I got there after about 25-30 minutes and walked straight to the online pick-up section and they had my pizza ready. The only thing I wish was that their garlic (roasted or not roasted) was not in the giant chunks and was instead minced/chopped. Although the garlic was softened a lot by the hot pizza oven, it didn't feel amazing eating a whole chunk of garlic in one bite. The best pizza I've found in the neighborhood since moving from New York. Roasted garlic is excellent. The crust is just the right type of crunchy-chewy and they have good sauce and cheese. Depending on toppings the center of the pie is sometimes a little limp, so it's hard to properly fold and eat, but that really does depend on what you add. Although the pizza is mediocre, there are things that make MOD a nice place (hence the four stars rather than three). First, the whole staff greeted us when we walked in. It's not that they weren't busy, and it's cool to know that everyone working was aware enough to know when guests entered. Second, the restaurant is clean. Third, they serve interesting pizzas. Our office has been ordering from this location for the past few years and our experience has been fantastic. I typically order 25 pizzas and salads and we love all the options and especially appreciate how this place really gives you the biggest bang for your buck! It helps keep things in check with regards to our company budget. MOD Pizza has been on a bit of tear in opening up new locations in the Seattle area in the last few years. The location in Redmond was opened last year around this time. It is located at Bella Bottega near Sushiland. A Regal Cinemas megaplex is just a few yards away so it is in a very convenient spot. Plus plenty of parking to boot. This location has the feel of a big garage. Ambiance inside feels very industrial. The menu here consists of 10 pizzas and several salads. You can also build your own pizza or salad if you don't like the existing options. I recalled when looking at the Yelp pics about MOD Pizza that they offer a pizza salad which I found interesting. It is basically a salad served on top of their pizza crust. I decided to give this a try. Though the website says you have a choice of four toppings, I was able to pick a few more additional choices. The toppings are then mixed with your choice of greens (I chose mixed) and served on top of the pizza crust once it has been baked. Had a tasty pizza salad concoction of mixed greens, grilled chicken, artichokes, bacon, kalamata olives, red peppers and gorgonzola cheese on top of a pesto covered pizza crust. It tasted great and everything was fresh. So why the three stars? Well, I think the ordering process is a bit too complicated like ordering a burger at Five Guys. And I only think the pizza crust is okay. It is very cracker/flatbread like. I think pizza should have a bread crust. That said, MOD Pizza is a nice spot if you are looking for a gourmet quick bite in Redmond. A much better option then getting a fast food burger nearby. read more

Great staffs and team work. I like mods but always gets surprised whenever I see mods crew working together. Besides that, they cater to vegans, gluten-free, change gloves if asked, plenty of sauces and never screwed up an order. Great energy and great pizza. I'm a creature of habit so I always get the same toppings: pepperoni, ham, olives, mushrooms, artichoke, pesto, basil and Mama Lil's peppers. My favorite thing about MOD is that they have Mama Lil's peppers. I love those things!! I eat them by the jar. The service was quick and friendly. I appreciated the guy who made my pizza telling me that the basil should be added to the pizza after baking so that it doesn't burn. One thing I noticed is that the music playing at this location was so loud it was certainly disruptive and almost painful to my ears. My cousin who was with me agreed. What a fabulous, fabulous place!!! We got a coupon in the mail to buy one, get one free, so who could resist such a deal? We were NOT disappointed!!!!! All the reviews below already discussed the great pizzas, the multitude of fresh toppings to choose from, and the super price ($6.88 each pie). You should also know that they will gladly do a half-and-half pizza (no problem!), and make amazing salads, too. And to top it off, the guys who work here are THE NICEST folks I've met working anywhere, hands down. I'm from Brooklyn, so I'm pretty snobby about pizza. There is a way that I understand how pizza should taste, and pretty much everyplace outside of NYC always fails me. Especially pizza places that put NY style, or even worse Brooklyn-style, in their name: Just don't do that, you can't win that comparison. My snobbery means that the big chains (papa johns, pizza hut, godfathers, etc.) do not even qualify as pizza in my eyes. I find giant pieces of bread with big globs of tasteless cheese and sauce to be ... unsatisfactory. But MOD has really impressed me. I think that the quality of the ingredients and the thin-ness of the pie is really great for the price. I like the meat-lovers variety, i think meatballs, sausage and pepperoni. I have actually never been in their shop, my husband has always gone there to pick it up for us. It's not really NY style, I don't even like using that phrase as I previously mentioned, but it is in how thin the dough is, and its tasty ingredients. It has the spirit of NY pizza in that way (though you ain't gonna find no personal pizzas in NYC, unless you consider eating a whole pie by yourself a personal pizza). I think the food is great, but service is arguable. I didn't get the pizzas, but I did get their salads. And I think their ingredients taste fresh and otherwise, healthy. So there is really nothing wrong with their food. If you want a tasty pizza or salad with full customizability, MOD is the way to go. But with that, means you have to have solid employees. I know, who wants to work for a pizza joint sometimes? How do you get excited if that's your job? Well that's a question for management to deal with. The servers here are so machine-like and brisk. Take my interaction for example, while making my deluxe salad: "Oh could you put some parmesan cheese on it?" "I already put it on" "..." If one were a little more friendly, I think one would also add, "oh, is that not enough? I could add more" In addition, during lunch hour, It's usually busy so I tend to just go with an already-prepared item, so I can get my food faster. As I was ordering my salad, the servers were moving slowly like they 1) didn't know what the ingredients were (and I that point I think management should probably place the "recipes" somewhere where they could see it without having to obviously look at the giant menu on the wall for their own reference and 2) expecting me to add more items so before they would even begin to put ingredients in they were acting super slowly while doing it, even though I made it clear I only wanted the basic. Honestly it peeves me that management is a little off in this MOD pizza, otherwise it'd be 4-5 stars. read more

Ok. Whoa!! Loving the whole DIY pizza places and I'm happy to see them here on Redmond. I'm from San Diego and it was really cool to see them here. With super fresh toppings for the pizzas and a super awesome and friendly staff, they've really hit it out of the ballpark here. I like their dough, not too thin but my pizza was left in the oven a little too long and it was tasting really burnt. I love that they have a good variety of finishing sauces to swirl or drizzle on top here. They really do take care of their pizza. Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Caramelized Onion Tea!! Sounds totally gross and offer the charts but with natural sweeteners and an awesome experience for the nose (really smell it from the cup when you inhale from your nose) it's one I want to make forever and ever. read more
